A fantastic game. The soundtrack and level design are amazingly designed and smooth to run through once you master them. The story is original although it's not fantastic. The game play is easily the most memorable part of the entire experience. Although I believe the sequel has a large improvement with the addition of the second character Copen. The controls are arguably the best part of the game, for when you master them, you can fly through levels like nobody's business. I think, if you're a fan of the platformer genre, this is a must. It's addictive nature and relatively short overall game time make it something you can play for days and days completing it, or a couple hours just getting the normal ending. Which is another thing I should mention, it has 2 endings, the normal and good ending. I won't spoil it here, but it's really sweet. Overall I incredibly enjoyed myself with this game and I would recommend this to any fan of the platformer genre.

If you like Mega Man X or Mega Man Zero, I HIGHLY recommend this series. It's made by the same people who made Mega Man Zero and ZX and features that same jump, dash and shooting that their previous games are iconic for. Both games are pretty decent in length and the challenges and scoring system keep you coming back for more.

If you are looking for something reminiscent of the Megaman years but breaks the gameplay mechanic (not the formula, you still get the stages with a boss at the end) then this is a great game. Graphics are based on the original portable version so pixel art is graining on high def TVs but I will not fault them for that. The Anthem mechanic is okay if you are just interested in getting through the game, but I found it a little annoying when it would activate when I really just wanted another go at the level/boss without it. Personally liked Copen's (aka Akira, not sure why they localized then names when the Japanese audio clearly uses a different name) from the second game's gameplay style more than Gunvolt's, but you have the third game to look to for focusing on him.

This was a great game in the Azure Striker series!

Fun set of games. If you enjoy games like Mega Man X or Mega Man Zero, then I highly recommend this set.

5-Star Side Scrolling Action at it's Finest! Super Fun game!
