The Backbone One PlayStation Edition is a game-changer for on-the-go gaming, especially for PlayStation fans. Its seamless integration with the PlayStation Remote Play app means I can access my PS5 or PS4 games from anywhere, whether I’m traveling or relaxing at home. The design perfectly matches the PlayStation aesthetic, and the build quality feels premium. What I appreciate most is how portable and easy it is to set up. Beyond traveling, it’s been great for more casual moments, like playing games while hanging out with my fiancé. It keeps me in the same space without feeling disconnected, and she enjoys watching me play every now and then. If you’re a PlayStation fan and want to take your gaming on the road or even just add some flexibility to your setup, the Backbone One is definitely worth it.

To be fair, I didn’t even give this thing a chance against the Portal. I purchased both at the same time, but I was so blown away with the quality of the Portal, and it suited my needs perfectly. The Backbone got returned the next day. I wasn’t looking forward to having the drain on my iPhone battery while using the Backbone. I appreciate that the Portal is its own device. The Backbone may be ideal for individuals who are looking for a hyper portable gaming solution. That’s not what I was in the market for.

I was a little skeptical about the backbone at first because I was not sure how it would work but I can say I'm very happy with how that works. I like that I can play my PS5 when I'm not even sitting in front of it and playing on a high-tech phone like I do, the Z fold series, the quality is even better because of the big screen and the great picture. The connection is very quick and so is the response time and handling

Works great with my wife's iPhone. She hated on screen controls. Feels great. Easy to use.

The product is responsive and intuitive. The overall construction feels like it is intended for adults as it is somewhat flimsy feeling.

It all started when my 7-yr old grandson asked me to play Roblox with him. “Absolutely” was my reply, bit when it came to game playing I’ve obviously lost a few steps. Even though I have a ProMax iPhone it was still rrslly challenging to maneuver using my fingers on the screen. After multiple attempts and not getting any better I asked some college age friends for advice. Everyone in tbe group said this was the one I needed. They were absolutely right - this has been a huge help! Easy to learn and easy to use. This is Old-Man approved.

Amazing product. Allows me to game when i have time but cant physically access my consoles. Easy to setup as well as works with multiple platforms even the cloud based gaming platforms.

Amazing product. use it with my iPhone 15 pro max + apple case. Fits perfectly. knocked off one star for the joy-con like joystick, but this is much better than playing with the touch screen! Remote play with the ps5 works really well when Im sitting on the couch and my family is using the TV. PS portal may have a higher resolution screen, but this solution is more than half the price of that item.

The Backbone MFi Controller is an essential and valuable accessory for my iPhone 17 Pro. It enhances my gaming experience, allowing me to enjoy games like Death Stranding and Final Fantasy VII with greater comfort and control.

I LOVE this. Works great with my Zenfone 11 Ultra. Even without the subscription it works with a bunch of games, particularly mobile adventure games. Would definitely buy again.

I have used it for almost two months now. It is a great game controller. Very easy to setup, plugged it in my samsung galaxy s24, detected automatically and worked nicely with my ppsspp emulator. It is much better compared to all the other phone game controllers that I have used. The buttons feel great, the sensitivity is good, seems very durable so far.

If this was able to open just another 1/4 inch, it would be perfect. It works great with the phone case removed. It works good using a cable to attach the phone to the backbone. Doesn't attach using my Otterbox defender case on my phones. It does function just as well as s regular Playstation controller however.

Absolutely amazing, gen one I couldn't use a case and the subscription drives me crazy but with the second gen being able to use with a case, the style of the white PlayStation addition, and the updates to the paid app... So worth the extra money spent. And it works with Genshin Impact on Android!!! A must pick up for any gamer especially mobile or cloud gamers like me!!

I works great. It fits my S24 Ultra with a case and is easy to pull off too. Controls are good overall, very similar feel to a Nintendo Switch. Though it has a better d pad. One knock is you have to pay for the touch controls mapper utility and it does not work with all apps. Otherwise it works great.

TL;DR - Unless you get it on sale, this left more to be desired for the price. Stopped working a year into light use. I had this controller for just about a year, I used it lightly, but I just returned it under my total membership because the left side of the controller just stopped working (a common issue with this controller apparently) I was going to get another one, but decided to go with the Gamesir G8 Galileo instead. Overall, this was a nice enough controller, I liked how compact it was, making it very portable to take with me anywhere. It allowed me to connect to PSRemote Play fairly seamlessly, which was a bonus for me, that and I appreciated the Playstation layout (and color). It was also a big bonus to me that I could insert my phone (Samsung Galaxy s24+) into it without removing the case, which was a big plus for me. The things that I didn't quite like was that after awhile, your hands would become fatigued from holding it. And although it would hold my phone with its case on, it always felt like my phone would slide up and down at an angle, so it never felt quite secure. That and the telescopic backing felt quite flimsy at times. The buttons and joysticks felt clicky and cheap at times, but that could just be my taste. The subscription to backbone is not necessary, so I wouldn't waste your money on that. You should be able to play any of your games immediately after plugging in your phone. Overall, the controller itself is nice, but for the price, it left me wanting more. I've since bought the Gamesir G8 Galileo as it's about $20 cheaper and feels sturdier and more customizable versus the Backbone. It's not quite as portable but the price difference and quality feels significantly better than it did with the Backbone. I'll do a review on the G8 after using it longer.

Very handy but ps remote play needs work. Great for Apple Arcade though

Great controller. Fits with a ton of different cases, better trigger buttons than the V1.

Great Product, don't try to mix this one with Xbox one for it will not work or other way around. For Playstation games make sure to get the white one and it works so good.
