A solid thriller from beginning to end with enough twists and turns to keep you thoroughly engaged. The ending dragged on a bit but not enough to significantly hinder the film as a whole.

I didn't have high hopes for this movie but it was way better than I expected. Great neo-noir mood, murder and intrigue. It was a little longer than I thought it needed to be, but a great movie nonetheless and it looks great in 4k.

I thought this movie was well done Good acting good plot the only thing I regret is that I didn’t buy it in 4K I think it would look great . I wish that I would have seen it in the theater.

If you are a fan of Tarantino-esque type films then this is one you...it is an entertaining movie that requires viewing more than once to catch all the little nuances and details.

Excellent movie. Both the cinematography and Dolby ATMOS soundtrack are excellent on this 4K UHD blu-ray disc. This film did great in the movie theaters - 75% rating on Rotten tomatoes. It's got great actors, soundtrack, and story line!

The video quality is superb. The audio is excellent. Highly recommended if you have a Dolby ATMOS surround sound system and a good 4K TV. Nothing like experiencing a movie in an identical representation of how it was played in theaters.

I had heard (and read) good things about this movie. I must admit that it even got my wife's attention (she generally hates my movie selection). I can't believe that it didn't garner more attention than it did. This is a GREAT movie!

While it is somewhat slower paced, the cast acting and cinematography are all amazing in this movie. If you like mystery with twists and turns, while being kind of a throw back to the old ways of film making this is a movie for you.

Be warned, this is not an action movie. This movie's setup was great, multi-layered and engaging. It has a Tarantino-ish feel to it with the dialogue and with the way the story plays out. The acting is excellent. Well worth a watch

Actors and acting was good. Very interesting, thrilling story that unfolds in layers. It is especially interesting if you are a Boomer and familiar with history- many parallels

I absolutely loved this movie and it was one of my favorites of 2018. The slipcover is gorgeous and the 4K picture is beautiful. I was so excited to finally be able to rewatch this.

Wow, I am sad to say that I missed this in theaters...this movie just ended up being waaay better than I originally expected! Great characters, and twists that I ended up not predicting made for one enjoyable viewing experience!

Picked this movie up while on sale for a very good price. Watched it by myself and with the family a second time. I really enjoyed this movie very much and can’t wait for friends to drop by so I can see it a third time.

Tried to watch it twice and fell asleep both times. It's an interesting concept but it drags. You'll end up watching this movie the way you might watch movies on HBO. You'll catch one part of the movie, then try to catch the other parts when flipping channels. Good performance by Jeff Bridges like always. Always enjoy John Hamm, and a shirtless Chris Hemsworth always a plus! Plus, Hemsworth is not doing another remake or reboot (see Star Trek, Red Dawn, Vacation, Ghostbusters, and the upcoming MIB).

We loved this movie a lot. The time the director took to tell each of the characters’ stories and how they all converged to create a richer overall story was beautifully done. Chris Hemsworth is an amazing actor!

Several strangers unite at a seedy motel on the Ca/NV border. Each seems to have their own hidden agenda. Yet fate will have them all converge at the El Royale...

Definitely worth a watch if you’re a fan of murder/mystery flicks. The unique backdrop nestled between California and Nevada is hilarious. The cast is a great selection of talent, Jeff Bridges is a hoot!

First off let me say, Bat Times at the El Royale is most certainly not for everyone. The way the story unfolds and how information is withheld/presented is quite complex. Although this may make it a bit too convoluted for some, it makes it an absolute treat for anyone willing to dig beneath the surface and get analytical. Not unlike Cabin in the Woods (Drew Goddard's directorial debut), Bad Times plays with your expectations. Goddard takes painstaking care to build tension throughout a scene, only to have it all upended by a sudden twist. For that reason, I anticipate the reaction to this film will be divided, as many moviegoers simply don't like surprises or being unsure of what will happen. However, if you are a fan of Goddard's previous work, it's a safe bet that you'll like this one. I also need to talk about the cast, as they deliver an absolute treasure of an ensemble performance. Each person plays their part incredibly well, but Cynthia Erivo and Chris Hemsworth are the definite stand outs. Hemsworth especially shines, showing us that he can do more than play a quippy Norse god. This movie has so much to unpack both visually and in terms of foreshadowing that I cannot wait to see it again. If you're looking for a smart, stylish, and generally thrilling way to spend a few hours, look no further than Bad Times at the El Royale.
