You'll know that this BakerStone oven is a quality piece of hardware from the moment you take it out of the box. It feels solidly constructed and is beautiful in it's simplicity. It does take a fair amount of time to heat up to a stable & proper temperature, gets rather hot to the touch during use and afterwards - so not especially safe in a household with curious children, and you are limited to the size of pizzas you can bake this in this footprint. Expect to leave this puppy in place for a good while after use to allow it to completely cool down. It's a heat capacitor by design ; ) and that is what makes it perform so very well. With all that said, this is a great kitchen accessory for the task of making pizzas at home - from scratch. The included accessories are a nice touch. Highly recommended!

In our family, we love pizza, you must too if you are reading this! I saw this Pizza Oven and had to try it. Doing my research before getting anything I quickly learned the name Blackstone. Makers of many outdoor cooking products such as BBQ and cookers I jumped on the pizza for my gas stove. Yes Gas stove but they also have one for use on your gas grill! So I saw the video and was amazed at how quick it can make a pizza, not any pizza but a fresh pizza. Opening the box it was well packed. Lots of ceramic plates and foam to protect it in shipping. Took a bit of assembly, was being careful not to break a ceramic plate but once done was left with a great looking mini pizza oven. Basically it sits on your stove and the heat is transferred thru the unit and stored in the ceramic tiles! This is how it gets so hot which is needed for making a great pizza quick. It even comes with pizza tools! I will admit, at first we tried a store bought frozen pizza. I was impressed but not there yet so we tried a local Clubs pizza that's pre made (uncooked), cut it to fit the ovens 11" and was like wow, this is better. Finally got to making our own dough, got the hang of it and was blown away at how good and fast. It's capable of making an 11" pizza. Now the upside is that once you get the hang of it, you can make a pizza to your exact liking! Save all the toppings and even get store bought dough or go all out and make your own. Pull it all out of the fridge, create your pizza and have it cooked in minutes! It's a fun way to make a lot of GREAT pizza cheap and with the family while having fun! Clean up is a breeze. Temp control is easy with burners and it's built in temp gauge. If you or your family loves Pizza, and want to create your own, THIS IS IT. Looks great and very affordable.

Please read through the directions. The oven is simple enough to put together, but I could see where it might be confusing if you were to simply jump into it thinking, "I've got this!" All items are provided except the screwdriver which tightens the 4 screws holding the top/bottom portions together. Inside this top/bottom are the 4 stones which slide together to make the oven. Very simple design, minimal pieces/parts, yet has a very robust feeling to it. Extremely sturdy and well made for how "simple" it's. Also of note; be sure to treat the stones with a small amount of vegetable oil. A dab on a paper towel, wipe it around, and you're all set. I'd recommend placing the BakeStone on whatever cooking device you plan on using and allowing it to heat up prior to making your pizza(s). However, I'dn't recommend frozen pizza. If you do plan on doing this, allow it (the frozen pizza) to warm up/thaw as the huge change in temperature between the frozen pizza and the hot plates will most certainly increase the odds of a stone eventually cracking. Once up to the 500* range (the third of three areas in the gauge on top of the unit) use the included Pizza Peel (cutting board) to slide your pie in. Be sure to turn it every 45-60 seconds with the included turner. This keeps it from sticking to the base stone as well as providing consistent heat to all 360* of the crust. Once you do one or two you'll get a feel for when your crust is ready without having to pull it all the way out and physically touch it with your fingers. Another element of this whole process that makes it very fun/rewarding. With all that out of the way; excellent results on our first two pizzas. We had just used up our last cauliflower crusts prior to the BakeStone arriving and our local store was out of them, so we went with an organic cornmeal this time around. If your kids are having friends over, it's a great way for them to get involved in the process and then watch as your pie bakes. Heck, you can even hand over the turner and let them handle those duties if you feel they're up to it! Having guests over that appreciate conversation while prepping some food for game/movie night? The BakeStone is an excellent thing to have around for just such occasions.

I really dig this pizza oven. First one I have ever owned or used. I have always made pizzas in the oven and occasionally on the grill but the crust is always crunchy and I love a softer crust, now get to enjoy a less crunchy crust if I prefer. The oven was quick to put together and everything seemed strong and solid, well made product. Minimal effort to put it all together as well. Once heated this bad boy takes a few minutes to cook your pizza. Its so fast, be sure to turn your hood on full speed to suck all the heat away. Once done set your burner to high and toast away any bits that might have been left in the oven. Wait a while for it to cool and just tilt it into the trash can to clean it out.We are planning a pizza party and will be letting everyone build their own personal pizza, its that fast that we could even sit down together and eat. Or make a bunch of concoctions and all get to try something new. Can't wait to try out this oven for other cooking options, who knows what can be baked up in this bad boy.

Makes Delicious Pizza - Takes Some Time to Finess

The BakerStone - Gas Stove Top Pizza Oven Box is an ingenious creation. Once we dialed it in, it produced a delicious, artisan pizza. Assembly was mostly straight-forward, though it took a few trys to get some of the alignment to work. The warnings about heat and a minimum clearance of 10-11 inches caused us some concern. We finally put damp cloths over the areas of exposure. After using it, we realized we didn't have to be quite as concerned. We had the stove burner set to high, but it took about an hour (not 20 minutes) for the heat indicator to barely cross the line into the pizza range. It never went higher. As a result, we needed to more than double the recommended times for rotating and cooking the pizza. As far as cleaning, we let it continue on high heat (per instructions) for 20+ minutes, but there are still some spots that didn't cook off. Although the above issues could be frustrating, they also add to the 'artisan' experience. It's all about experimenting and dialing it in according to your tastes - all of which makes the finished product feel very personal and unique. Once we got it going, my wife and I had a great time with it. And we thoroughly enjoyed our personal, handcrafted, stone-cooked pizzas! This is a great product. I only gave it 4-stars because there is room for improving the design and functions.

I was excited to try this pizza oven. There was some assembly required, but it was relatively simply to build. The design is quite sturdy and seems as though it would withstand quite a few uses. The oven gets very hot! It can definitely cook a pizza quickly. I made a critical mistake of trying to use gluten free dough to make my pizza. It was just way too sticky to try to launch into the oven. The pizza ended up tearing real bad and I ended up with cheese and sauce all over the stones. That takes me to cleanup....The cleaning instructions are not real exciting. You have to place the gas burner on high and leave it that way for 15 mins, then cool for 90 mins. Once cool you're expected to tip it back over a can to knock the debris and charred carbon into the trash. During the period where I was running it on high it smoked a lot and managed to set off my smoke alarms. Then once it finished the burn-in I had to tip it over a can...It was heavy and unwieldy to do this. At the end of the day I still didn't get all the crud off the stones. I'm likely going to have to dissemble it to clean the stones. And that sucks! It's a fun idea and could definitely cook a pizza quickly. I'm going to give it another go soon with regular pizza crust. But at the end of the day it's probably easier to just buy a ready to go pie vs all the mess and cleanup.
