This is a very fun and very Japanese 3D action-platformer. The gameplay mostly consists of beat-em-up combat in a 3D environment and there's also simple platforming here and there. I played the Japanese version at release and the thing I like most about this game is it is chock full of content. There's a bunch of levels and there's a good deal of level variety too. It's also a lot of fun to find the hidden collectables in each level. It adds replay value to the levels, but if you are observant, you should be able to find everything in one go. I also enjoyed the different transformations, as they added some variety to the gameplay. The only thing missing from the Japanese version is that I couldn't understand it so the story was completely lost on me. It's very nice being able to play this game again in English. In general, it's a very fun game and a worthy successor to the Ganbare Goemon series.

for anyone who loves japanese culture and wants to share that love with a younger generation, mameda bakeru is an excellent introduction to the island nation, wrapped in a simple but fun action platformer. controlling bakeru in combat and moving around the colorful and stylized levels is fun without complexity, making it a great game for younger gamers. reading comprehension is recommended as the game has a lot of text.

What an ABSOLUTE GEM this game is!!! If you like platformers/action games this is for you. Bakeru is kinda like a 3D Mario game but set in Japan and teaches you a bunch about Japanese culture but not in a boring way. There's TONS levels and stuff to do and collect. It does get a little repetitive but the action levels in between break it up(flying,racing,boating levels)which are fantastic!! I can't recommend it enough! Great for kids too!!!!

If you liked snes and n64 age platformers this is a pretty solid title. It would probably benefit from a slightly wider ability pool.

Great game purchased from an even better company. (Best Buy) I placed my order and got my package the next day, needles to say I will only be purchasing items from Best Buy this day forward.

This is a cute Japanese-themed platformer/collect-a-thon, but it has some visual issues with performance and graphics. If you're looking for an extensive 100% completion, then this is the game for you.

Very neat little game and very worth checking out for longtime Goemon fans or many of Nintendo's 3D platformers, like Kirby and the Forgotten Land. If you like those, you'll like this! There are performance issues on the original Switch, but those appear to be rectified on Switch 2.

A very fun and pleasant experience recommended to any person who enjoys exploring.

While we don't have the iconic Mario and friends running around here this character is just as entertaining to play through this game. Think a more Oriental version of Mario where instead of doing the iconic jump stomp and fire flowers you use taiko drum Bachi(sticks)sticks and other unique abilities here. Definitely a game worthy of adding to any Switch owners game collection.

The game is amazing but the frame rate is so bad on switch it makes me sick so i had to stop playing. Hopefully it will run better on the switch 2 so i can finish it
