Comfortable and High-end sound from these headphones. When it comes to sound B and O is the leader in speaker technology. They don't crank like the Bose QuietComfort 35 but have a pure and precise sound for those that value high fidelity

Sound quality is superb. It is expensive, you can go with a bit less expensive headphones like sony or bose, but these are really comfortable and has really good sound quality

The sound quality is excellent and are very comfortable to wear. I have hearing aids and I am able to use them with these headphones. I've tried other headphones and had to remove my hearing aids first.

Sounds great, easy to use, simple app. Only downfall is that the active listening picks up EVERYTHING. I can't have them on active listening if I'm walking, otherwise it will thud at each step, and give me a migraine. There should be a mode that has both noise canceling and active listening completely off, but there isn't.

There is no doubt that these headphones cost a premium, but you really get what you pay for. These headphones are well made and very comfortable and stylish. First to adjust them for size there are built in sliders with no preset positions so you can adjust to exactly where you need them and they stay in place. The padding on the ears are high quality soft leather and combine that with how light they are and you can wear these without even noticing they are there.
One thing I wasn't thrilled about at first though was the touch controls on the right ear. They seemed cumbersome but after a little practice I've mastered them and they have grown on me. The one feature I find particularly useful is swiping up to pause/turn transparency on and off. Its very handy instead of grabbing your phone, unlocking and then pausing your music.
These headphones also come with a cord which will come in handy when I fly and want to watch a movie on the plane instead of using a cheap set of headphones to plug in.
Last but not least, the sound. Its perfect and exactly what we've come to expect from B&O and the noise canceling is great as well. My wife wants to steal these because you can't hear a word our kids are saying when they are walking around the house yelling, "DAD?"

The Bang & Olufsen H9 3rd Gen headphones are a great pair of headphones overall! With its price point, however, I feel like they should’ve spent a bit more time and effort on accessories.
LOOK & FEEL:
Pros:
⁃ made of sturdy, high-quality materials
⁃ looks sleek & modern
⁃ comfortable to wear
⁃ has weight to it but not too inconvenient emphasizing great quality build
⁃ ears rotate
Cons:
⁃ It isn’t foldable
⁃ “Case” is just a bag
⁃ Cables seem cheap
⁃ No charger included
FEATURES:
Pros:
⁃ Noise-cancelling feature works well
⁃ Transparency works well
⁃ Touch-control is something unique
Cons:
⁃ Touch-control isn’t as user-friendly
⁃ There’s quite a bit of a lag in controlling audio via headphones
⁃ You can’t lie down with the headphones on. Tilting to the right controls the audio unexpectedly whenever the headphones touch the pillow.
AUDIO:
Pros:
⁃ Well-balanced sound (you can hear all the instruments clearly)
⁃ Bass very good (not too loud)
Cons:
⁃ none

I am sorry but I was expecting more from a name like Bang & Olufsen. These headphones sell for much more than my other high-end headphones and don’t offer much more.
I do enjoy listening to them and they are pretty comfortable for me to wear for a couple of hours. To me they are pretty well balanced with just enough bass. Not too much like some other brands. For the most part I do really enjoy listening to them.
Now the problem is that these are the 3rd Generation of the Beoplay H9 series and the user interface is lacking. There is a full second delay from the time you pause the headphones until it reacts. That is either with pause or resume. I had to just get used to pressing pause and wait for a second to see if it was going to respond. At least it did normally respond, so that part was predictable. The track forward or back feature works really well and quickly. I have no idea how it can skip ahead or back so quickly, but can’t pause or resume quickly.
The noise cancelling does a pretty good job. It defaults to on and with the headphones on but not listening to any audio it does a nice job of noise cancelling. If you are listening to something quietly, it is very hard to hear anything around you. My problem with the noise cancelling is that I could not get it to turn off. The gesture to turn noise cancelling on is a downward movement on the right ear. Then the opposite up movement up is transparency mode. I could not get either to work. I did manage to somehow lock the controls using these gestures. At that point I couldn’t even press play on my iPhone. I was definitely not impressed with the inability to use these functions.
The volume up or down is counterclockwise or clockwise gestures on the earcup. That worked reasonably well.
I had no trouble pairing with my iPhone XR or a very old iPad Air. If you pause and come back to the same device it connects again quickly. I started with my iPhone and then went to the iPad the same day. The next day when I tried to reconnect to my iPhone, it wouldn’t connect. I selected to forget this device and reconnect and it connected easily.
These headphones do not have any built in announcements like connected or battery charge, etc… It does play a tone for certain functions, but that is about it.
It comes with a drawstring bag, not very sturdy nor protective. My kids have a cheap set of headphones with a decent carrier. I am surprised that a pair of high-end headphones don’t come with something better to protect them. The headphones ear cups rotate to make it flat, but they don’t fold down.
It comes with a charging cable and a cord in case the battery goes dead. It also comes with an airline plug.
If you can live with the issues I’ve pointed out, they are a nice sounding set of headphones and admittedly my other high end headphones don’t have any interface outside of a mechanical switch on the ear cups, so in that respect it does offer more than my other headphones, but I am not sure it is worth the extra money to me. It might be fine for many people though. Just understand that the interface is not perfect.

The first thing that struck me about the Beoplay H9 3G was the build quality. There is little plastic to be found (just a portion of the earcups) and the hinges are all aluminum. The headband also feels like it's probably all metal, but it's hidden under a a thick, sturdy leather band. These feel like they can be thrown into a bag with little to worry about.
Speaking of being put in a bag, these come with a heavy fabric bag, but no hard case. For the price, I would expect a nicer case. I have cheaper wireless headphones that came with a nicer case. The included cable is also cheap and cheesy feeling, in stark contrast to the headset itself. The cups fold inward, DJ style, but the headbacd does not collapse.
Comfort is good. Clamping force is just right, and the inside of the headband has some light memory foam. The earcups are a soft leather and have a good amount of memory foam. Even with my largish ears and glasses I can wear these for a while and still be comfortable. My ears do tend to get hot after a while though.
I usually hate touch controls on headphones, but these work well. They're not overly sensitive, and the various gestures used for functions are well thought out so you don't trigger something on accident.
I do like the iPhone app, which allows you to turn ANC and Transparency on and off (you can also do it on the earphones themselves with gestures on the right earcup) and has an intuitive 4-quadrant EQ. The EQ is key for tweaking the sound with changing source material.
Which brings us to the sound. Sound is very good, but not exceptional. Bass is solid but muddies up the midrange a bit. Some sub bass sounds a little distorted, but it may be the source material. Marshmello's rendition of "Happier" is an example.
Overall sound is on the warm side, but the app allows you to play with the tone, which is great for apps like Amazon Music, which has no built in EQ. The 'phones also support AptX for HD sound. Amazon Music HD reports they support 24/48, more than enough to handle most of their HD catalog in high quality.
Pairing with my iPhone and Windows 10 were easy. I had to download some new drivers on Win10 to enable AptX and jump through a couple hoops, but that's Microsoft's fault, not B&O. I do have issues sometimes with the B&O app recognizing the headphones and have to turn them off and on a few times if I want to use the EQ. I hope they fix that soon.
Overall, I would recommend these for commuters looking for a solid audiophile experience. The ANC does well to drown out the train and office noise I work with. If you're looking for reference headphones you would probably want to look elsewhere as these tend to be more on the fun, V-Shaped side.

B & O really missed the mark on this one. The workmanship on this is typical B&O high end feel quality materials as you would expect. The commands are very easy to use as well. However when it comes to sound they missed the mark. Oh you can hear the symbols in the background but it’s so low in volume it just can’t complete with the Sony M3. Really disappointing. They don’t have access to an equalizer either to make the sound more pronounced. Also the shape of the earpieces need to change its just not as comfortable and I have small ears. I hope they address this as I really like the quality.

It is a piece of great craftsmanship. The sound leans towards the warm and even at it's loudest it is not imposing . The materials are first rate. Lambskin is like no other. 500 bucks is steep but you are paying for a piece of art.

solid, active noise cancelling headphones

The over the ear Bang & Olufsen - Beoplay H9 Wireless Noise Cancelling headphones are well built and ergonomic. These super comfortable headphones do not produce any fatigue associated with over the ear headphones. Metal, plastic and soft foam earcups (each handily marked L - R on the inside of each headphone) yield a world of great sounding, high fidelity playback of recorded material. The active noise cancelling does a very good job at filtering out background noise of the already good noise isolation provided by ear encompassing headphones. The sound is stellar, non distorted reproduction of various sources from music to podcasts and everything in between. The left headphone has a dedicated button for Google assistant, not sure if this is re-assignable, the right headphone contains most of the controls, with a sliding on/off/pair switch, a USB-C fitting for charging and a mini headphone input for wired connections. While on the subject of connections, Bluetooth was solid - providing good frequency response, distortion free playback from my iPhone, never had any dropped connections except for one strange occurrence early on the required me to forget the connection and re-pair. It will be interesting to see how these do reception wise once lawn cutting season starts up again. Usually the engine on the ride on mower seems to cause Bluetooth connection stability issues with other Bluetooth headphones. One of the features that some complain about is the touch control built into the right headphone. Gestures are used, clockwise/counterclockwise circle pattern for volume control, up and down for noise canceling on/off and forward and back for track control. I found once you got learned the patterns, it was easy. Think of it as a clock face and the gestures are easy to master.
Overall I am very happy with these headphones and look forward to my first flight with them to really put them through a good test of the active noise cancellation. Given how they have performed so far I'm sure they will be up to the task.
Pros:
- Quality of build
- Sound reproduction
- Good active noise cancellation
- Comfortable for long listening session
- Gesture enabled control
Cons:
- Dedicated, non re-assignable Google assistant button

Sooooo if you get this on sale it's worth it. If not your better off getting the air max headphones. These headphones are definitely better than alot of other brands. It's just doesn't compare to the h95 or the air max headphones. If your stacking it up against bose or Sony it's a bit better. Sony wins on bass though.
