Don't leave me hanging on the telephone

Well, I am a huge Harley Quinn fan. And I also love "The Big Bang Theory." I bought the e copy after watching a youtube clip of Mellissa Rauch covering Blondie's "Hanging on the Telephone" by Jack Lee. When I saw that it was on stock, I purchased it.

    Retro Batman Adventures '90s Fun

    Posted .

I have collected all the DCU original animated films upon release, especially the Deluxe version containing a mini-figure and when available, the Best Buy exclusives that are packed with accompanying graphic novels/trade paperbacks. The latest release is Batman & Harley Quinn, featuring the starting to get a little overexposed villainess! The film is a light-hearted return to The Batman Adventures from the '90s with show creator(and Harley co-creator) Bruce Timm. Also, original '90s voice actors Kevin Conroy(Batman/Bruce Wayne) & Loren Lester(Nightwing/Dick Grayson) are reunited! Too bad original '90s Harley voice actor Arleen Sorkin wasn't hired for this video! Director Sam Liu has an excellent animated film repertoire as he has directed episodes of The Batman, as well as several of the DCU original animated films(Teen Titans:Judas Contract being the most recent). He will be directing the next original DCU animated film: "Batman: Gotham by Gaslight" that will be based on the graphic novel released eons ago in 1989 by artist Mike Mignola before he unleashed Hellboy to the world in 1994! I enjoyed watching this film as it harkened back to my late college student days, watching afternoon cartoons on Fox Kids (free public tv!) before studying!

    Not your average "Cartoon"

I'm going to say that I enjoyed this, but if you think this is appropriate for children I'd have to tell you no. There isn't full-blown mammalian hi-jinx in this show (sorry, but the other word was censored), but it is more than insinuated and likely not really great for youngsters. As an adult who is a fan of batman I would say it's very entertaining and I liked this almost more than a few other animated features I've seen of Batman, Justice League or Teen Titans. I'm glad to see Harley Quinn getting more attention the past few years even if it IS mostly because of her *ahem* appeal. She's a pretty complex character and I like that they had Melissa Rauch voicing her part!

It's great for any Batman fan but to me I found it enjoyable and lackluster at the same time. A half-baked plotline recycled from the original animated series. It was cool they had Kevin Conroy return as the dark knight though. Great comedy and animation even though to me it felt rushed and anti-climatic. Overall I still like it. Poison Ivy is one of my favorite villains so there's that too.

    Fun but not perfect

I was super excited about Batman and Harley Quinn when it was announced. Bringing Kevin Conroy, Loren Lester, and Bruce Timm back together got me pumped immediately. I'll admit, it's fun but it's got some weird moments. The writing takes some turns that are unexpected but the story is good and it's a satisfying watch. Check it out, but know that it isn't the best representation of what Batman: The Animated Series can be.

    best batman animated movie

Best batman animated movie of all time.  The original batman cartoon writers and artists as well as the original batman and original robin dick grason knight wing taking on the roles again.  Filled with a outstanding cast of voice actors to take on the batman  animated series characters voices. A sequel to  batman animated series volume four The artwork and voice talent are amazing as well as the story and action.  The actress for harley quinn is amazing and hilarious. This movie had me laughing the whole time and I can't stop watching this movie. My new favorite movie of all time. I'm gonna be supporting the creators and buying as much copies as possible through out this year so they can make more batman animated series Movies. They said on the interview if this movie sells good they will make more. So I am gonna help support by buying a whole bunch the rest of this year. This movie is a all star movie.

    fun with Harley Quinn

When Poison Ivy and her fae partner decide to try and change the world into one populated by plants (as they do), Batman and Nightwing turn to Harley to help them find her and take the plant pair down. Harley, recently released from prison, is trying her best to stay out of trouble and is a bit reluctant to let them draw her in, but after Nightwing "convinces" her (a little more mature content that some DC comics btw) she's in with her usual silly gung ho and bat wielding enthusiasm. DC continues to put out great stories with their direct to disc movies. If you've liked the Warner Bros. TV and films, this one shouldn't disappoint you.

    Better then Expected

It's a Harley movie with Batman and Nightwing tagging along, went in watching movie with minor expectation but was surprised by the interactions between the 3. Its a very adult movie with crude jokes and innuendo's with Harley and her needs, so I do not know how this got a pg-13 rating. Movie was made in same style as Batman the Animated series from 92-95, which makes it even funnier. Watched twice already and catching some things I missed second time around, so if your buying because your a Batman fan go ahead but if your buying for your kids watch it b4 you do. Better then I expected.

Mostly fun and and slightly forgettable

Movie is not sure if it wants to be for kids or grown-ups. Most of the movie would play fine for the younger set, except for an awkward seduction scene. Felt like somebody just wanted to get a PG13 rating. I like the other DC animated movies (except for Killing Joke) and like this one too. The movie is more light-hearted than a lot of DC animation. The end-of-the-world stakes never feel very worrisome. A few laughs along the way. Harley was not as crazy as I would like. Fun movie; not a game-changer.

A low point or A Hidden Gem?

If you're looking for Batman Year One or Under the Red Hood--this is not the movie for you. Compared to those titles this film is a joke. The question that every DC Original Animated fan must ask themselves is how open are you to something far different? For better or worse this is a straight up comedy that has some heart but in the most unexpected way. Divisive? Oh yeah. Worth your time? Hmmm... If you have an open mind and don't mind a throw away time passer, then with hesitation I say yes.

It started with 1 DC Animated & now its???

This DC Animated series is fun, captivating. Has issues that play into the world that a younger kid will get and bring up moral issues all the way to most adults who buy these. Personally I like it when young kids ask what certain words, phrases or meanings have and why? I'm not here to tell anyone they can/cant allow a kid to watch. These are great films! Like the title mentioned I started with just One DC animated film around 2013? Now I'm buying them in 4k when they release! They can be dark, gritty, funny, and have story lines that rival big time films. Some better due to the amount of time invested in making such films. I watch these on a 165" Screen and the picture/sound is amazing!

Bruce Timm style Batman, Kevin Conroy voicing Batman, Loren Lester voicing Nightwing. What else could you want? The story is great and has quite a few laughs, which was surprising. Actress Melissa Rauch (TBBT) does a great job playing Harley Quinn and sounds very close to the original actress. The Best Buy exclusive is worth the pick up too since the mini hardcover comic ties in with the movie nicely. Overall I would say get this movie.

Not your typical Batman Vs. Harley Quinn

    |
    Posted .

Definitely not your average every day batman cartoon. This is more along the lines of a Batman Harley Quinn Anime geared more towards the adult. Which definitely explains the PG-13 rating (some thing that should be adhered to in this case). Filled with a lot of adult tongue in cheek humor the movie is a good watch, but again not for children under the age of 13, and even then I might thing before I let a 13 year old watch it either.
