Although the trailer had me expecting a certain new style of film, I can't say I was disappointed when the film definitely felt like a new BTAS (Batman; The Animated Series) feature (as it was produced by some alumni).
It's an early coming of Batman story that explores some of his training and existence in the world of the martial arts and we meet some characters who were a part of it.
If there's anything At&T WB DC don't do wrong (in most cases) is their animated features: standalone, else-world films you can enjoy with feeling the need to connect them to each other (in most cases) Definitely worth your time and bits!

This is probably the first dc animated film where I just walk away part way though everytime. IDK why but every time I have tried to watch this i get bored and put somthing else on. I think some of it is the animation style.

Decent animated movie. I like the 70s throwback feel with the look and music. Not up to par with some past animated batman titles but overall a good watch

Storyline is okay. Bruce Wayne appears more than Batman on the movie. I don't really care, it fit the story. I would've liked a different ending, so 4 stars. Anyway, i did enjoy it. WB animations have better stories than their live action movies.
This bluray disc is the type that looks almost clear which I'm not a fan of. I had bought a different movie before and it didn't want to play on my bluray player. But now i have a 4k player and this movie played fine. I haven't tested the other movie though. I think these discs are manufactured differently than the main ones and maybe the bluray players might need to have the firmware updated. But whatever, movie was enjoyable.

Great introduction of Lady Shiva who later becomes DC Comics greatest martial artist and deadliest.
This movie has some of the same feel that the Enter the Dragon did with Bruce Lee.
I like seeing the team up of Batman (Bruce), Richard Dragon, Lady Shiva, Ben Turner, and some of the Batman comic characters like Jade, Silver St. Cloud, and King Snake.
It is set in the 70's in the way they dress, talk, and the music.
It's a nice movie by itself and to see how Bruce learned his fighting technique as well.
I love that Kelly Hu played Lady Shiva in this!!

A truly different take on the Dark Knight. Imagine Batman in the 1970s with a little bit of Bruce Lee and Roger Moore-era James Bond thrown in and this is what you get. In this latest DC Universe Movie release, Batman joins up with fellow martial artists Lady Shiva, Richard Dragon and Bronze Tiger to stop the evil cult, Kobra, from unleashing an ancient evil upon the world. Any fans of DC Comics, martial arts movies, secret agent movies and anything 70s cinema will get a kick out of this. Definite recommendation.

So a mysterious group of snake themed bad guys has a plan that only the greatest martial artists in the DC universe can stop.
The art style is slightly different from some of the other DC animated films that I've seen, but it still looks good.
The voice acting was well done and the music was fitting to the show.
Lately, I've been seeing Batman related video games and movies (this 1 as well) and such where everyone knows Batman is Bruce Wayne and it's kind of annoying. The point of secret identities is to keep both sides of life apart. It kind of removes something in the narrative for me watching this when all the other characters know his secret identity.
Richard Dragon is DC's answer to Iron Fist, so in this show having him look so different than in the comic books, kind of removes the authenticity in the character in this show for me.
I also don't like that there is not a solid ending, but more of an implied 1. It would have been better to have a longer film to show everything. What's the point if you are going to show me all?
While it's not bad, nor a total loss, I think there are other DC animated films that are much better.

I was surprisingly impressed by this. I have been watching Batman since the Adam West days, especially the Animated Series. This was a nice take of seeing Batman with personalities such as Bruce Lee(not really him), Bronze Tiger and Lady Shiva. It was interesting that this animated film showed that Batman had the least skill in his team, but had a lot of heart. I was happy with the animated fighting and will watch again.

Batman Soul Of The Dragon is a 70'small throwback to the golden age of martial arts movies including the exploitation era. Growing up in the 70's and loving these movies drew me to DC's latest animation. It is true to feel and vibes of the time and the story sucks you in at full attention. Although the movie isn't really centered around the cape crusader, the other characters are interesting enough that the movie could do well without him. A definite thumbs up.

Holy 1970's martial arts tropes

I don't think they missed a single 70's martial arts trope. They even asked Ben Turner if he went by Black Samurai until he says no Bronze Tiger. The only part that wasn't believable is when Richard Dragon doesn't recognize Batman in costume. Other than that it was a lot of fun to watch. Not to spoil it but the ending begs for a sequel to the story.

Throwback 70s Martial Arts Flick

This was an okay movie. It was interesting with a lot (maybe too many) flashbacks, and was a decent martial arts flick, but a Batman movie it wasn't. I mean, he's in the movie, but for being the title of the movie, he's kind of a minor character with a role that could have been filled by anyone. It's like they're only using the name now to sell a film instead of making a cool or interesting Batman film. I guess it would have been a hard sell since everyone else is a relatively minor character and none of them could really headline the movie and generate sales (except to hardcore fans), but still he has a relatively throw-away role. Still, it's not bad and the animation id decent. The extras are meh, but additions of the ninja episodes from animated series are great to have. Worth a look.

Not your typical Batman movie. Looking in the past, Bruce acquires martial arts teachings and fellow trainees who fight the other dimension enemies. It’s a fresh look into his past however I long for Gotham City and the villains who want to either rule or destroy the city. Nice movie if you want to see the birth of the Dark Knight.

This movie did not rate higher as once again nearly all of Batman's many skill are ignored. I know in the past the Bat has beaten the Bronze tiger. Shiva is the one that I would have said could beat the Bat and Richard Dragon is not one I am well acquainted with.

The DC animated movies prove they are better than the DCEU movies with Batman:Soul of the Dragon! The story is better scripted, the story is entertaining and is a throwback to the 70's kung fu movie craze. I give this movie 2 thumbs and 2 big toes up!

I like the action in the movie. I enjoyed the story elements in the movie. I also thought the animation was good for that type of movie. I also like the special features that DC puts on their blu-rays as they are always entertaining to watch.

Even though this has the title of "Batman," the movie focuses more on the other heroes: Richard Dragon, Ben Turner, Lady Shiva and Jade. Not that that is a terrible thing, the cartoon would probably not have been made otherwise.
However, if you were expecting Batman to be in a martial arts movie and mix it up a lot, he is not in this as much as you would expect.
Now, as a 70s martial arts film, the movie is rather good. A lot of cool fight scenes, etc. It did give some of a Bruce Wayne back story, him becoming a great fighter and such, but again if you were looking for Batman to be the star (his name is in the title, I mean really) you are going to be disapoointed.
