Battlefield is a good games with a lot of different elements that are very interesting

A digital battlefield never felt so crowded, yet so lonely. My first few hours playing this game were fun -- reminiscent of all the great times I had playing Battlefield 2, the original and still one of the greatest destructible environment shooters. The futuristic characters, weapons, and vehicles are pretty interesting, although sometimes a bit too reminiscent of previous Battlefield games. Same goes for the game modes: a bit novel, but sometimes too dated. There are two things that quickly deteriorated the fun, however. First, is the way players can respawn on squad mates, creating a seemingly never-ending stream of cannon fodder. This ties in to the other problem: most players mindlessly rush to their deaths over and over. There is very little disincentive to do this. It also is tactically absurd. Any pretense or pretext of realism totally evaporates when you use a recon drone to see it happening over and over. The end-of-round summary does not show each players K/D/A statistics -- there is no mention of deaths at all. There really should be. The game provides great tactical tools to conduct strategic warfare (communication pings, squad orders, recon and healing capabilities, etc.), but very few players utilize any of them. They just run and shoot over and over. It's sad, really, because there are so many other games (like CSGO) where you can do this for free. Why pay money for all these tools and intriguing game modes but not take advantage of them? When launching into a game, you can see the badges and achievements of your squad mates. I never saw anyone else who had any kind of recon badge. And yet the most frustrating thing is getting shot by someone you didn't know was there. For a while, I took pride in scouting the battlefield and almost always was a showcase finisher for kill assists. But that grew old pretty quick. I understand that Battlefield games intend to straddle the line between fun and realism, but the fun tends to evaporate the more unrealistic it gets. Given how crowded the FPS game space is, it's hard to understand exactly who this game is designed for. Amidst a swarming sea of digital humanity, I never felt so lonely as I did playing this game.

This game has a lot potential, but it currently is not a good game. I recommend purchasing it while it’s cheap because once they release updates and fix it, it will be really good.

Battlefield games are great for the graphics and effects

well, it is a bf game. that is the positive i suppose. So i have not found how you can select from a list of online games. You are just forced into whatever with their 2 game type selection. Also so far every map i go into, is just huge with tons of empty space. It all reminds me of "f@rt-night'. BFV is much better so far. This game will be $9.99 before you know it I bet.
