battlefield hardline still feels like Battlefield. But the new story line with the cops and criminals really makes you feel like you have a new game. the use of real-life actors also makes it feel like a show it makes for a real solid storyline. the new game modes in multiplayer keep it fresh without taking away from the classic battle field experience we know and love.

    Battlefield series gets afresh start

    Fun

Battlefield Hardline is a fresh urban approach to the already critically acclaimed series. You basically play a cop, with all its drama, to bring in the criminals dead or alive. You are rewarded points for keeping perps on their feet, instead of in a body bag. Lots of varied missions, and the Multiplayer is wild and fun. Don't miss this exciting chapter in the Battlefield series!

    A Different Take on Battlefield

    |

I wasn't all that excited for Hardline truth be told. I picked it up on a whim when it was on sale and ended up being pleasantly surprised though. The single player is ridden with cliches, and the story can be kind of dumb some—if not all—of the time. That being said I enjoyed the stealth combat. It makes for some pretty ridiculous encounters, but the mechanics are satisfying and something you wouldn't expect to find in a Battlefield game. Meanwhile, the multiplayer features conquest and TDM modes that are sure to satisfy, but, more importantly, Hardline adds its own modes as well. They're chaotic takes on several cops and robbers gametypes that give the game some legs. I doubt Hardline is for everyone, but if you can find it at a decent price and you're a fan of the series it's worth a try.

Good, Mostly More of the same.

I bought this game for the multiplayer, so that is what I'll focus on here. It is mostly classic battlefield, but scaled down slightly. There are no tanks, jets, or attack helicopters. You do not spawn with rocket launchers or machine guns. There is still vehicle combat utilizing armored trucks, cars, transport and patrol helicopters, and heavier weapons can be picked up as map items. The new multilayer modes work well with this however, with hotwire being my favorite. This game is good, and while it does not replace a traditional, military themed, battlefield I do like the different objective based modes and the slightly different scale.

    Refreshing spin

i have played every battlefield and while i do enjoy the war shooter that has become the battlefield franchise it is nice to see it spun in a different direction. it is not for everyone but the single player game gives you the option to play like any battlefield game , guns a blazing, or more stealthy , sneaking up on the enemy and arresting them. the multiplayer is not much different that previous titles in the series but it has a few twist like new game modes and few new gadgets. hopefully in the coming months with the release of dlc it will only improve the online game play.

    Single Player Review

I have only played the single player. In all honesty wanted to see if an fps focused on its story or not and I have to say they did a good job. The ending was a little iffy but overall pretty good. Felt like i was playing a tv show. But as for gameplay it seems to not have strayed that far from previous games. Collectibles were easy to find. The difficulty of the game was pretty easy. I did enjoy that they added weapon customization in the single player. Combat felt fine. Will most likely do a review of multiplayer once I put some hours into it.

    Fun and fast-paced Battlefield game

    |
    Posted .

I used to play the Call of Duty series games. I did not like that the games were not on dedicated servers, unlike Battlefield games. The epic size of the maps on any Battlefield game makes for a fun experience. Whether you like to assault on land, sea, or air, there are many ways to play the objectives. Traditionally I played as the engineer class. There are less vehicles needing an engineer to destroy so I find myself using a lot of assault/support classes. It is fun to have cops vs. robbers instead of spec ops vs. OP FOR. Looking forward to finishing the single player as it plays like a Miami Vice TV show. Finally, the kill times are very fast so take it slow and play like it's real life (using cover, clearing rooms, and working as a team).

    Enjoying This Game!

I picked this up for myself and a few friends and we've been having a good time with it. The new game modes are engaging although the game does have a bit of a learning curve for new players. Seasoned Battlefield players should find some value here if you're looking for a change of pace with something more close quarters. My only complaints so far would be some of the terrible spawns in TDM leading to instant death and that I'm bad at flying a helicopter but that one's on me.

    A different take on battlefield

    |
    Posted .

If you're looking for fresh take on the battlefield series, this is your game. Not so much a "war based" shooter but more of a modern day cops vs. robbers shootout. Episodes single player are very fun. Multiplayer has many new modes that keep you intrigued and coming back for more. A must own for shooter/battlefield fans. It only gets a 4 out of 5 due to the wait times for the episodes. You cannot skip the story to jump right in which is a small price to pay.

I have to admit, not a huge improvement over BF4. In some cases it was a step back as the mechanics and gameplay are not as smooth as the previous versions of Battlefield. Occasionally in the first few months I would have trouble joining, or staying in a match. That seems to have virtually gone away. This is another fun episode in the Battlefield series and has already provided hours of fun. I'm about halfway finished with campaign and play online mostly.

    Great game

This is a great game but is definitely needing some patches. No one really plays Hotwire unless they are there to make $. There are also other modes that people hardly play. Those servers are always empty. A lot of the guns are nerfed in here as well. There are only about three good guns to have for sure. All in all, I'll probably still pick up the premium edition to get the extra maps. Dice is pretty good at patching these games.

Great Battlefield game with more ground combat! :)

    |
    Posted .

Same game mechanics and graphics as Battlefield 4. Hardline emphasizes infantry (ground) combat more in this one which is why it has been compared to Call of Duty more than the previous titles. This game handles the ground combat 5 times better than CoD ever has done and we have dedicated servers! :) EA's Battlefield/Battlefront continues to innovate while Activision's Call of Duty can't even get dedicated servers...

    Exceeded my expectations

    Posted .

At first when I bought this game I was thinking this could of just been DLC for battlefield 4 but I turned out to be wrong. This games storyline is better then it has been in the past for battlefield games but still not really up to todays standards as the storytelling is weak and you really do not care what happens next lol. The multiplayer has unique, different game modes that have not been in the battlefield series before and these are very much welcomed. There are still conquest for the traditional battlefield feel but the new game modes make this game stand out compared to the other battlefields.

    Skeptic No More!

    Cars, Killing

To be honest, I first thought this game was just a cheap shot at 'Grand Theft Auto V' for their lack to release "heists", which still to this day has not... I'm not one to write reviews before a game releases because it's not a review of the final product and information always changes until the final release. Plus, there's fan hype/bashing which can all be false but I digress. After playing the beta extensively, I can say that this game is not entirely a 'Battlefield' title and should've taken another name instead, which most gamers will agree on. The game draws a combination of game play influences from 'Payday' and earlier 'Battlefields.' This is a recovery from the horrible release of 'BF4.' The online game play is extremely fun and satisfying. You earn in game currency for completing tasks/kills and spend it on the load outs that you want provided that any challenges/criteria have been met for unlocks. It's truly a rewarding system and it feels great buying the things you want. Cars drift around corners, grappling hooks pulling players up to change the dynamics of the game and the amazing tracer dart from 'BadCompany' makes a comeback! The graphics look pretty but nothing outstanding. They've added a lot of player animations so its not always the same "knife action" as when taking someone's tags in 'BF4.' Cars' handling in general isn't the smoothest and their destruction doesn't do much damage to an enemy's vehicle if exploded next to it which is a fantasy. Tires cannot be shot out which is comforting to drivers but again not realistic. The weapons and their respective damage are balanced especially considering drive-by shootings that can kill without having to reload three clips unless it's an intense car chase! I would definitely recommend playing with at least another friend to make the experience more enjoyable and competitive; so use those mics! The game is a fantastic place holder while you wait for 'GTA's' unfulfilled, promised heists or as a replacement to the game in general because it's so much fun. All in all, this is a great game if not an excellent one.

    The next best battlefield.

    |
    Posted .

Visceral did a great job forming this game fom battlefield 4: they've added the zip-line, grappling hook and other things from previous battlefields like bf2. They've added new things as well, like the ability to take down enemies and interrogate them, instead of assassinating them. In reward for doing this successfully, all enemies will show up on the map for a short time. Gaining money for doing random things is addictive. You can purchase battlepacks with in-game money.

    Battlefield meets GTA...meets...COD?...

Great game. Different from previous Battlefield entries, but holds its own. Not nearly a COD pace, but faster than other Battlefield entries as well. Smaller maps, and different game modes speed up the gameplay. Drive cars this time like in GTA, but in the world of Battlefield. Worth the buy! Definitely a lot of fun!
