If you are a Battlefield franchise player, you will like this game better than Battlefield 1. It runs smoother, better graphic visuals, and more weapons.

A Classic FPS with Something for All

Battlefield V is a classic WWII FPS with the classic Battlefield features along with some new. I am huge fan of the Battlefield 1 War Stories, so I was excited to see them return. The stories in Battlefield V are great, but a bit short of Battlefield 1 and seems there was more concern of having an open battlefield to play in than ensuring a strong story. With that, the stories are still good and I recommend to anyone who enjoys FPS single player campaigns to play Battlefield V's. A unique feature I enjoyed is surviving the cold of a winter's night and having to go from fire to fire to stay alive, while having to be aware of enemies in parallel. Additionally, I was surprised to see this, but happy they included it, which is a story from a German soldier's perspective towards the end of the war as the Allie forces advance into German. This isn't common, but I am glad they put the effort into capturing more than the generic WWII stories. The multiplayer is very fun with decent progression and access to enjoyable weapons early on. With larger maps, the pacing is better balanced verses the large maps in Battlefield 1, due to the technology of the time. The plane combat takes a little time to learn, but once mastered it is fun, with the bombing runs being extremely satisfying ad you see what remains and the impact you have on the outcome of the match. Overall if you enjoy FPS games for either the single player campaigns or the multiplayer, I recommend that you check out Battlefield V.

I've been a Battlefield fan since Battlefield Bad Company. I love the series for its realistic environments and weapons. Battlefield V isn't horrible but it isn't great, either. It's a work in progress. The campaign (the War Stories) never really deliver making me feel like I am part of a soldier in a large war. In fact, compared to the previous Battlefields, I feel more confined and wanted to break free in order to really explore and engage in battle. And yes, I am aware of the controversy of how the stories are portrayed etc. but that's not here or there. The multiplayer is where the heart is with this game. All the features and modes that have normally launched with past installments are missing but will be implemented by Spring. I don't know why EA/Dice didn't release this as a complete game. Sure, there is free content (maps and modes) on the way but that doesn't excuse that it was released incomplete compared to other games. The visuals are impressive as always and are complemented with the sharp sound effects that immerse the player. The hit detection and time to kill tug or war which are continually being updated. I think the players will have to explore what modes are right for him or her. For its current low price, I think players will be more forgiving for the shortcomings but will be reward down the road with the DLC and updates.

battlefield V continues the great tradition of being a great fps. the story mode is great and so is the multiplayer. hands down it is one of the better shooters out there even now with battlefield 2042 and COD games out. I recommend it to anyone who likes a slower pace game where you dont have to respawn every minute.

    More Squad Based Than BF1

This installment has tweeked gameplay to focus on squad gameplay and i think it is workig. I see more player reviving and dropping supplies than the last few BF games. I enjoy the tanks but have to say that the planes don’t feel right. Aerial vehicles were better in BF1. Regardless i am havin fun when servers are full. Late night servers can start to wmpty out but i think that is because sales were lower due to negative publicity leading to launch. This game also didn’t launch with all the content originall promised by EA. So what’s new!! Lol. I still support BF because i still think it is is one of the best strategy fps on market. As far as other EA games i wait for reviews to come out. BF5 is really alot of fun and reminds me of BF3 as far as combat which is good thing. Attrition system has been added which i believe adds layer to strategy.

A fun game, with a few confusing features

BFV is no doubt a fun game, and a great follow up to the WWI Battlefield 1. Most of the gameplay is the same as usual, but some guns feel the same as others. There’s a few confusing features, such as Company Coins and the role the play in your progression and assignments. Company Coins are earned by completing assignments and leveling up. The assignments can be tedious and force you to play the game a certain way which is not always beneficial to your team. Company Coin is used to unlock cosmetics in the shop, and to unlock “specializations” for your weapons, such as quicker aim or less vertical recoil. Other than those two aspects, I think it’s a great game, suitable for casual and hardcore gamers alike, especially if you already love the BF series.

Works on the PS5. Great graphics. Has 4 big missions, Call of Duty fashion. Easy mode seemed like hard mode. Variety of weapons; takes 3-4 shots to put down a bad guy. Not totally open world; easy to go out of bounds; have 9 seconds to get back inbounds. Overall a good game, could be better.

Fun gameplay, better than Battlefield 1

The gameplay is similar to older Battlefield games, but there are some changes such as the change to allow any Medic or squadmember perform a revive on a teammate. There is no Battle Royale gamemode yet, as that has been delayed until Spring 2019 for release. The game is more fun to me than Battlefield 1. I find a few issues playing with friends at the moment, but I have hope that they will be patched out soon. The issues I've had so far are joining matches with a squad of 2, but the game finds a match with only one open slot on a team. Then my squadmate has to wait in a queue rather than joining my game right away. Additionally, the gamemode Frontilne sometimes hits 0 on the clock and then continues for over an hour. That seems like a bug to me.

They are trying to keep the franchise going?

Not sure, but the way they change some things is a bit weird. Can't aim down sight on high capacity mg's (make things fair, still annoying to use those guns), medic now has zero attack against vehicles, they gave the assault class the rifles back and medic got smgs, making them only good for non-vehicle maps which can be small maps. You can't spot enemies anymore, unless you use the sniper spotting glass. Sniper flare got nerfed. I don't know, thought you were supposed to add to a game not take away. I can see the ideas here, but still a bit annoying coming from one BF to this one. All said and done, I sitll give a 4/5 because its still great fun. I ran squad conquest yesterday and almost couldn't stop playing.

This game has gotten several tough reviews. Which at first made me hesitant to get it. Gladly I saw it on sale over the holidays and wanted to try it. I was pleasantly surprised. Its multiplayer is still excillerating. Only hampered by flatter maps which cause some sniping deaths. Besides that I appreciated being able to repair bunkers during capture the zone games. Gunplay is always tight and responsive and in map changes can turn a fight from time to time. If you can get this game on sale. I would pick it up around the 20 dollar range. It's missing some modes that are not coming out till March. Luckily they where reported they are gonna be free when they launch.

    Great game, but fictional WW2

The game is absolutely fantastic! The gunplay, locations, and weapons all feel great with impressive visuals. My only complaint is that identity politics is a part of this game... I am a history major with a focus on WW2, no women in the British Royal Army or German Wehrmacht served in the infantry or the front lines.. this is 100% completely fictional. Women did serve in the Red Army and the French Resistance, however especially in multiplayer this representation is completely inaccurate. I hate that the current political identity politics climate of things are infecting video games.

The single player campaign is a disappointment since it is not entirely included on the disc but will be rolled out in pieces as part of EA's "Live Service" program. But where this game shines is in its multiplayer! Team work is crucial and encouraged more so than in past BF games and the TTK is on par to that of Battlefield 3. Over all, I am really enjoying Battlefield V and in my opinion, this game is much better than Battlefield 1. Almost forgot to mention that all future DLC maps will also be FREE -- no season pass purchase required!

That's bleeding every battle game to date, & of course this is the newest and the best one we've made so far. I got to admit it can be a fun multiplayer game it can also be very aggravating LOL the story mode is where it lacks I wish they would pay more attention to a single player campaign even if it means not coming out for two or three years instead of every year picked it up the Christmas for a great price and it was a present for a roommate of course I've had plenty of time online playing. If you like to save the game you like it

Must own if you are a battlefield fan. I have been playing battlefield since battlefield 1942 back in 2002. I have owned them all. And I could not wait for this one. Been waiting a long time to get back to WWII. In some ways it's tough to go back to basics after all the modern shooter with all the new technologies. But the simpler WWII is great. It's hard. It's frustrating. It's a blast. I can't get enough. The campaign is great but short. That is ok with me. Give me the online 64 player all out war. So fun. Highly recommend. And upcoming patches and dlc will only make it better.

Despite all the political drama, I was able to pick this game up for 50% off. I hope EA learned a thing or two with the statements they made pre-launch. Maybe next time treat yourself to a slice of humble pie before you run your mouth. Fortunately this game is fun. The new spotting feature is nice and more realistic. Guns feel more balanced, fortify is a cool feature (Thank you Fortnite). On the downside map design seems a little rushed. Depending upon the game mode and which side you're on, it can get frustrating. Looking forward to more content to be released.
