This is a fantastic camera! I had a BC-20, the older model with much lower resolution. Also had buffed it out twice for the same kind of UV problems headlights get. I upgraded to a Garmin Drive smart 86 and it would no longer work with the bc-20. I am so glad, because now I have a large screen and high resolution that looks more like newer cars with backup cameras

18ft trailer. Multiple locations tested. Connectivity is awful and inconsistent! Cross country roadtrip and now I am ouside return window. Waste of $200!

This will not work for long trailers at all. I mounted it to bumper tow 29ft RV. It will not work, it keeps cutting in and out. I went to Garmin for help and the very nice Paul informed me that because of obstacles, the rest of RV and truck, there was no way it would reach the 40' I needed it to. I guess if you want 50ft from this you have to have a clear view of Camera transmitter to GPS unit, you know, like no metal like in your RV and truck. The other options is to buy the $70 cable to get the transmitter closer. I guess I am buying a Furrion Wireless camera instead.

Plug and play easy to install and easy to connect just have proper topping to rear back up light.

Very nice, SMALL back-up camera, which connects wirelessly with my Garmin DriveSmart GPS. I have it wired to my back-up light wiring, so it turns on whenever I reverse. The size makes it almost unnoticeable, and it has adjustable guidelines (which can be turned off). The camera, WiFi unit, coax & power leads, and the mounting bracket all are very high quality. It’s not cheap, but it’s worth the price.

You need to make sure you have a compatible garmin device, buy extra hardware, test the assembly before fully installation. I have a Garmin SmartDrive 66 that I only use when my phone's having issues and I thought that combining it with Garmin's backup camera would be easy plug and play but it's not. It needs an extra adapter for $15 to work with this backup camera. My Honda Accord only has 2 cigarette plugs already fully occupied and my rear light doesn't supply enough power to connect this backup camera to it. I'm only left with the option to buy OBD2 to usb of Garmin for $50. The transmitter needs 2 extra extension cables to get it closer to the GPS. One cable for $70 to extend the rear camera cable. Another cable for $20 to extend the connection black-red cable. If you add all with $200 for the backup camera, it's cost $340 which is too much for just a rear camera and the installation may not work depending on your vehicle. Garmin's dashcam can also be easily stolen, so I don't advise to leave this setup in an unsafe parking. If you already have a compatible Garmin dashcam and absolutely need a backup camera, go for it. If not, you may still buy it if you plan to switch your Garmin dashcam and backup cam in the future to another vehicle. What Garmin could've done better do is provide longer cables or discount on extension cable when buying this camera because most buyers will need the extra cables. It's not a complete product if we must spend extra money to get this to work.
