For backround, I have previously owned gen. 1 Beats Tour earbuds (which were overall best earbud/headphones I have ever owned) and previously used gen. 1 Beats Studio headphones, back around 2013 (before Beats was bought out by Apple). I also currently own a new generation Beats Pill +, which I purchased last year. I loved the sound quality in all three products, which is why I decided to buy a new pair of Beats headphones (my old Beats earbuds have since worn out with age). I have been using the low quality earbuds that came with my phone since my old Beats wore out and I've been eagerly awaiting a replacement. First impressions after opening the the box were good, with high quality packaging, as expected from Beats/ Apple products, but that is where the good impressions stop. After opening the box, I immediately grab the auxiliary cable to test out the audio quality (not wanting to fiddle around with the bluetooth connections just yet). Looking for the auxiliary input, I was surprised to notice a standard micro USB-b charger. This is an odd decision from Apple, given that they had upgraded the Pill+ to a lightening charger, to be in line with their other products; I expected the same from these headphones. Before I managed to plug them in, I also noticed the lack of a USB AC wall adapter being included in the box. This is also, not a big deal, as I have many unused wall adapters lying around; just another odd decision. After those distractions, I finally got the headphones plugged into my phone (Galaxy S8, Android OS 9). I open Spotify, pick a song and press play on my phone. I hear nothing. I press pause, then play again on my phone, still nothing. I can clearly see that the song is playing on my phone, but it doesn't seem to be transmitting any sound to the headphones. They should be able to work without being powered on, while wired, but whatever. I turn the headphones on and try again, still nothing. After several minutes of unplugging/reinserting the cable, closing/reopening the app, pressing pause/play, powering on/off; I give up and try connecting it through bluetooth instead. Surely that must work, right? I connected the bluetooth through my phone, surprisingly the music started playing, but I was quickly disappointed to notice how quiet the sound was. Even at max volume, it wasn't any louder than the cheap earbuds that came with my phone. Worse yet, the bass, (in a normally bass-heavy hip-hop song) was barely noticeable. After expecting the high quality audio/bass that I was used to from older Beats products, this was a shock to say the least. And it doesn't end there, I quickly noticed that NONE of buttons on the headphones, with the exception of the power/ ANC button seemed to be responsive. I plugged the aux cable back in and I could finally hear audio through it, but the quality was still unimpressive and also the only button on the remote talk cable that seemed to work was the pause/play button. At this point, I was very irritated to say the least. At first I was thinking that I might have a defective product, but then I figured it out. Apple owns Beats now. I quickly grabbed the owners manual, read through it and there it was. At the very bottom in fine print "May not be compatible with non iOS devices" Years prior I had stopped buying other Apple products for many similar issues with quality and compatibility. Overall I am extremely unsatisfied with this product. I researched these headphones, read all the specs (just like I would with any $300+ purchase) and nowhere did it say that it wouldn't be compatible with Android OS; until I read the owner's manual after buying it. At the very least, that should be clearly stated in the description. Needless to say, I will be returning it and WILL NOT be purchasing anything from Beats or Apple again.

Have owned the Beats Studio for a little more than 2 years; Lightly used: at my desk and sometimes on an airplane when travelling. Performance was as expected, but the physical quality is very poor. My headphones have no scratches or dings, and are as shiny as the day I purchased them. Now they are useless because the both sides of the headband where it attached to the adjustments snapped. I am extremely dissapointed because Apple support stated ther is nothing that can be done after the 1yr warranty, told me there would be a $150+ repair charge, and were willing to accept it as just poor quality. I would question Beats headphones unless you plan on purchasing a new pair within 2 years.

I have had the Dre Studio’s for about 2 years now and the plastic part broke so I went to go get another pair and when I got home and connected them, the sound was very low and less quality so I turned my other pair with the broken plastic piece on and the sound was great on them (I knew I wasn’t trippin). These new Dre Studios sound quality is worse than the wired headphones that came with my phone (I tested them). I returned them and got another brand. I don’t like how Dre beats re-made the Studios and put poorer quality material inside the Studio model with the same price as when I bought it back then. Now That I know how Dre beats work, there is no need for me to ever look towards their products any longer. Oh the Studios now feel like a light weight toy as well.

I had a previous version of this for about 10 months. And it was brought from bestbuy. It was broken suddenly when I was putting it on my head. I did nothing wrong but just putting it on head by opening up the headset. The top of headset cracked and fell off. I called apple and they said it’s covered under warranty. So I dropped off it at the local apple store. Few says later they called me and said they won’t repair it and I have to pay 250 to repair. I had to decline and not even bother to pick it up. This is not a good product and also does not have good support on beats from apple.

Tried a lot of headphones and fell into the hype so purchased these without trying them first (BIG MISTAKE) and am very disappointed. Noise canceling is not as good as other brands but is an improvement from the previous studios. Personally for me, the headband is uncomfortable and the headphones just overall get uncomfortable when wearing for 30 minutes or more to the point where I had to keep taking them off to relieve the pain on my ears. Sounds decent was not blown away by quality not too much bass. Pairing is super easy but that’s the only good thing about these Beats and the battery life. I will most likely be returning these.

Overall these beats are just average and not worth the money. Every since Apple took over I feel like the quality has spiraled down. My major issue with these beats I recently purchased is that Apple DOES’NT offer any type of Protection/ or Warranty. Which is ridiculous considering the price. And you can no long purchase Greek squad protection with any Apple products. Which suck big time! If your going to purchase any beats I would suggest you picking the 1st or 2nd edition since these were made (prior to Apple taking over).

Worst beats I’ve ever bought ! I have had every pair of studios and one pro . These are by far the most disappointing headphones . I agree with the person that said if you like hip-hop music these are not for you . There is absolutely no bass they sound like a worse version of Bose headphones. I don’t know what Apple was thinking but they messed up big here . I took them back less than an hour after purchasing them and bought the old studio wireless headphones. What makes beats great is the bass. And these have none . Might as well buy the bose if your gonna spend this much money.

Switch to these from my current Bose NC headphones. Reviews seemed to suggest the quality was much improved and the addition of the W1 cheap was worth it. However, in reality the quality if these headphones are inferior to current Bose and Sony offerings and struggle to keep up with even old generation Bose headsets I have. The ANC is terrible at best, it makes people talking around you sound tiny/robotic, with the noise canceling being minimal. Turn the ANC off and the robotic sounds go away and the noise is only slightly louder. Given the price you can do much better. The new WH units from Sony blow these out of the water.

I read a lot of the reviews on here and was really hopeful for these. They are in direct competition with the Bose Quiet Comfort 35 II. They lose on the inability to use them without a battery charge and having to update through the computer. However the return is because in 90 minutes of listening, with an iPhone they cut out 4 times for 10-15 seconds at a time. My iPhone was either sitting directly in front of me on my table, or right behind my head charging behind me on a couch table. Unacceptable. I did double check and per the beats website they were up to date.

Crap headphones, apple will not stand behind their product because they know it's complete garbage. They will break and then repairs will be as much as a new pair. Complete waste of money!!!! Had 2 pairs break. They are cheaply made and where your charger plugs in is where both of mine are failing. Can't charge them anymore. Apple said sorry. 400+ dollars for 2 paper weights!!!! GARBAGE=APPLE

These headphones are pure garbage. After 6-7 months the left ear went dead. Sound would still come through after tapping the earbud multiple times, and then at best it would be intermittent. In addition, the headset piece broke in half when trying to put on. These headphones see no physical action (like the gym), they sit on my desk at work and that's it. I would not recommend these to anyone, ever.

First pair of Beats were incredible. Got a few years out of them. Bought two more 3 months ago and they’re both junk. One has no bass anymore and is scratchy. The other pair still sound decent but the right side has this awful funny noise that just drives a guy nuts. If you like to listen to music and listen to it loudly then these aren’t for you. They don’t hold up.

While these are far better in quality to all other Beats, they are still garbage as far as sound quality. Older Beats were at least good for listening to Hip Hop, as there are no dynamics in Hip Hop. As for other genres of music, these are a step forward. However, considering you can buy a pair of Shures or any other great studio headphones for $50 and get great sound quality without coloring the sound. At this point, these remain as overhyped garbage as is all Beats.

I am extremely unhappy with the quality that was sent to me. I understand this is an “open box” product. But the fact that your team didn’t even take two seconds to wipe the ear pieces clean?! They were covered in makeup. I was so embarrassed for my husband to open his gift and only be covered in SOMEONE ELSES MAKEUP. So beyond disgusting. I will never be buying a used product from you again. VERY disappointed.

I have owned studio beats since day one on the market. I update mine whenever they update. The sound quality on the studio beats have always been unmatched. The bass on Studio 1 & 2 were always booming and the sound was always loud, clear, crisp, and sharp. The sound quality of the Studio 3 is absolutely TERRIBLE!! The bass is less than adequate and even at max volume the sound remains muffled. Will be returning these.

I was excited for these to come out and must say as soon as I got them I realized they weren't worth purchasing, the battery life is much better but with the decrease in quality of sound I will stick with the 10 to 12 hours of battery life on the studio wireless 2's. and save my 350 for something better.

Beats makes great souding headphone no doubt about it. But after owning three pairs, I would not recommend it to anyone trying own one for the long term. Of the three pair I’ve owned, two the arch that goes around your head broke, and the third one the leather covering the foaom that goes around your ears ripped in the process of normal. All within owning for less than 1 1/2.

I got these for plane rides and around the house. First was distortion from movies on the plane. Now 35 days out the base is distorted from my DJ music. It played the music fine yesterday and now i have to deal with this. I didn't even use them that much and now I hope I can return or deal with this wasted purchase. Go Sony or Bose....

The sound has a distance-like feel to the headphones. It’s not like the Studio 2 where the bass is heavy and clear but not overpowering. These seem like they were cheaply mass produced made studios. I honestly thought that I had a lemon pair at first. So I returned and repurchased a different set; but they sounded the same as the ones I returned.
