The Beats Studio Buds proved to be tough to put a number on for this review. I ended up going with 4 stars, but from some angles these are 5 star wireless buds and others they are 2 or 3 stars. In the end, I ended up going with my surprise factor with how well designed the experience is for android and the overall sound of the buds vs some of the frustrations I have with them. And to be fair, most of the frustration is because they are ALMOST where they need to be. I was really excited for the noise canceling on these and that was just a huge disappointment. TL;dr: These work surprisingly well with both Android and iOS. Sound quality is great as long as you like the "Beats" sound since there's no EQ adjustment. Only average noise isolation and disappointing active noise cancelation. No in-ear detection is really disappointing. Fantastic battery life and the impressive sound quality keep these in the 4 star range, though. Just don't buy them expecting to use the noise canceling for travel. 1) Unboxing and pairing/use: really, really easy to get these paired up with my Note 20 Ultra. Flipped the top open, and the easy pairing option appears on my screen in Android and prompts me to download the Beats app for more advanced setup. Kinda shocking, really. They were just as easy to pair as some earbuds I recently reviewed which were made specificially for Android phones! I did not think this was gonna be possible for an Apple owned brand! The downside is they do not support handsfree google assistant. This isn't a huge deal as often my phone will pick up the wake words even from my pocket but this was a really nice feature of other earbuds I've reviewed recently. Because they were already paired with my android phone, I can't speak to the "fresh" pairing experience with my work iPhone - I had to press the button on the case to get them to pair, but it wasn't troublesome. They do support handsfree Siri. The fact that the Beats Studio buds don't support in-ear detection was shocking and really a bummer. At this price that feature should be mandatory. 2) Sound quality: These have the "signature" Beats sound bred into them and there are no EQ options in the app. Basically the classic V EQ from what I can tell, lots of bass, lots of treble, light midrange. Since that's the EQ most people probably would choose on their own for modern music, it's probably fine. Still, I'd prefer a choice for earbuds that cost this much money. Given that limitation these sounded very good. No distortion at all at normal listening levels with a wide variety of music. My demo track for acoustic music is Avett Brothers - Shame and I was really impressed with the amount of bass the Beats have without being too " bass boosty." (that's a technical term I just made up). They also brought out some upper midrange qualities that I hadn't noticed with other earbuds I've used recently. Top marks on sound, and I'm kinda shocked to say that I really, really liked the Beats for this. 3) Noise canceling/travel qualities: Basically non-existent noise canceling or even passive noise reduction. I would not purchase these solely for travel use. I tested these in a room with a window air conditioner and next to a server rack and they DO cancel out some of that fan noise but not enough to purchase these solely to use for this purpose. They also don't perfectly seal your ear canals so they don't passively reduce noise very well. Just not very good for this purpose. The transparency mode also doesn't seem to work very well. Just not worth the hit to battery life to use these features at all. On the flip side, the openness contributes to the sound quality and makes them pretty well suited for using in a busy/noisy environment where you need to hear what's going on around you. Sitting in an office, using the buds to listen to music, you get some benefit from the noise canceling while also not completely isolating yourself. 4) Battery life: Outstanding. The advertised 8 hours (with ANC off) is a full work day of audio without having to stick them in the charging case. Really impressed with the battery life - I do not have any other wireless earbuds that can make it through an entire day. I did not push these to the 8 hour mark but after 4 hours with noise canceling off (and about 30-45 minutes with noise canceling on) I was sitting at a little less than half charge when listening to audiobooks and music.

Pro: -Clear balanced sound -Comfortable -Case is compact Con: -Noise cancelling could be better -Battery life -No wireless charging The earbuds are small and comfortable to wear. It comes with three sets of silicone tips. There’s a button on each side that controls the music, answers calls, and switches between the noise cancelling modes. The buttons are easy to activate, and I find myself pressing them by accident often when adjusting the buds. Pairing them with my iPhone was simple. The first time, there was a prompt on my phone and all I had to do was click on it. To pair more devices, I had to press the button on the case for a few seconds and it went into pairing mode. The charging case is round and compact, and easily fits in my pocket without being bulky. It charges with a USB-C, but does not have wireless charging. It only has one indicator while charging and doesn’t have any battery level indicator so there’s no way to tell how many charges are left. The sound quality is quite good. It’s an overall balanced sound, clear and without too much bass. When listening to instrumentals, it sounds full, and I can hear the distinct sounds clearly. It may not be as good as higher end brands, but to me it sounded fine. Noise cancelling, while not bad, isn’t that great either. It dampens some lower rumbling sound and fan noise, but a good amount is still audible. The difference between normal and noise canceling isn’t that big. The transparency mode works well, but adds a slight hiss. There’s no voice prompts (just a series of beeps) while switching between the noise cancelling modes, so it can be hard to tell if it’s on. Battery life isn’t the greatest. With noise cancelling on, it lasts about 5 hours. The case will provide up to 15 hours of use. If you really need good noise cancelling earbuds, these are probably not it. These will cut down some of the noise, but I have better ones, though at a much higher price point. The sound is clear and is more balanced without emphasizing bass over vocals. Overall audio is good. Battery life could be better, but it’s not too far off from the average.

    An all-around good package

I really didn't know what to expect from these earbuds. I've been trying to find a pair of earbuds I can take everyone. They need to have a small charging case, good battery life, preferably some level of ANC, good audio quality, stay in my ears, and not skip. I tried the new Sony earbuds, but they hurt my ears after 20-30 minutes of listening, the Bose QC earbuds but they were buggy, I tried the new Jaybird earbuds but they never made a seal in my ears so they sounded awful, and the Amazon Echo Buds 2 but they also hurt my ears after a while. I already knew other earbuds from Sennheiser, Master & Dynamic, and Soundcore wouldn't stay in my ears. I gave these a shot thinking they would fall out like the AirPods Pro and regular AirPods do. That hasn't been the case. I can wear these all day without hurting my ears and they stay put when I'm at my desk, walking outside, or bending over and working. The earbuds themselves are light but they're held in by resting on a portion of my outer ear and with the ear tip. I don't feel pressure on my ears while wearing these and they stay in while laying down/reclining. The charging case is small and easily fits in my pockets. I wish it had Qi charging, but USB-C is a nice addition. The magnetic lid is securely held shut and the earbuds take effort to remove. These aren't going anywhere if you drop them. The case is a little larger than the case for the AirPods Pro, I wish they put a larger battery in it. You can recharge the earbuds twice with the case, that's it. The case itself is made from a durable matte plastic. You can see the molding seems in the case, but it isn't a big deal. It isn't as seamless as the cases for the AirPods and AirPods Pro but it's still nice. Total battery life is 24 hours without ANC or transparency or 15 hours with ANC or transparency. The earbuds themselves will last for 8 hours without ANC/transparency and 5 hours with one of those enabled. 5 hours isn't much compared to others. They do gain 1 hour of playback after charging in the case for 5 minutes, so there's that. Still, I wish these could have pushed to 6-8 hours with ANC and 8-10 hours without it (and at least 3 full charges out of the case). The earbuds themselves have new ear tips Beats/Apple made specifically for these. There is a pill-shaped button on each earbud for playback controls. Press once to play/pause/answer a call, twice to skip forward, three times to skip backwards, and hold to toggle between ANC and transparency modes. The physical button feels nice and tactile when using it and the button is the same for both earbuds. You can customize what pressing and holding does, I left mine alone since I'm on an iPhone and these have "Hey, Siri" detection (they don't have "Hey, Google" or "OK, Google" detection on Androids). The Beats Studio Buds support quick pairing with both Androids and iPhones, they'll even show up in the Find My app for iOS and Find My Devices app for Android. You are missing out in quick switching between Apple devices, these don't pair to your iCloud account. They also don't work with spatial audio in video apps, they do work well with spatial audio in Apple Music (if you like that). Their sound quality is somewhere in the middle. The bass isn't as boomy as it is for the PowerBeats Pro but it is detailed. Highs are better on these compared to the PowerBeats Pro. The sound quality is like the AirPods Pro, just with less treble and more bass. I can pick out single instruments and the sound stage is OK for earbuds. These aren't anything special, but they aren't terrible either. The audio quality is fine for everyday earbuds. The ANC leaves room for improvement. It's fine for droning noises but lets in higher pitched noises. The AirPods Pro do a better job of cancelling out highs instead of just muffling them like the Studio Buds. Transparency mode is fine. I can still tell it's processed audio but it isn't bad, I've heard worse from Samsung earbuds. Lastly, Apple put a new Beats chip in these that has a Class 1 Bluetooth 5.2 profile. You'll get a 100ft range on them and, so far, skipping hasn't been an issue for me with my iPhone 12 Pro. I recommend these for anyone looking for a pair of solid everyday earbuds. They work well with Androids and iPhones, have good sound quality, OK noise cancelling, and average battery life. They're stylish, well built, and comfortably stay in my ears. I think Apple has a hit on their hands, I just wish the case had Qi charging.

I was a bit skeptical of these earbuds at first. I've never been a fan of Beats products. However, I was pleasantly surprised, and I may now be a convert. First off, they come packaged very nicely, and everything has a high quality feel to it. The buds come with the charging case, cable, and 3 sizes of ear tips. I have very large ear canals, and the large size fit me perfectly. I usually have trouble finding tips that actually fit. Not only do they fit well, but they are actually very comfortable, eve for long periods of time. I wore them for a couple of hours straight and there was no discomfort whatsoever. Next, I'll talk about the setup process. I paired these to my iPhone, and really, it couldn't be simpler. You literally just tap the case to the screen and it asks if you want to pair them. Just for giggles, I checked the traditional way as well, and again, pretty simple. You just go into bluetooth settings and add them just like any other bluetooth device. If you are using these on iPhone, you also get a little extra stuff you can do in the bluetooth settings page. Mainly, you can set what mode they are in, transparency, noise canceling, or none. Transparency allows you to hear your surroundings, since these are the types of earbuds that actually seal the ear canal, making it very difficult to hear your surroudings. This is a nice feature to have if you are maybe in public where you need to be aware of your surroundings, or at work and don't want to miss if someone is trying to talk to you. Noise canceling is pretty self explanatory. It's good for drowning out noise like on an airplane or in a busy public area. Lastly, you can just use them with both features turned off, which will help save battery life. Which I will talk about next. Like so many of these types of ear buds, these not only have a battery built into the earbuds, but can recharge in the case up to two more times. This can give you anywhere from 15-24 hours of total listening time before you have to recharge them, according to the manufacturer. I did not get to test this for accuracy, but just in my normal testing, I was able to wear them all day and not have to recharge, and then used them the next day with no problem. So I see no reason why these numbers aren't at least close to accurate. Finally, I'll talk about the most important thing; sound quality. I am no audiophile, so I can't get into that level of detail, but I at least have used a wide variety of different earbuds an headphones, all across the spectrums of quality and price. These buds definitely rank on the high end. They sound absolutely fantastic. I had always heard that Beats are a bit heavy on the bass, and I really didn't think was the case with these buds. Don't get me wrong, the bass is definitely there, especally in bass heavy music like dance and hip hop. But it wasn't in your face or anything. And it was still very well balanced. I've heard other bass heavy headphones where the vocals or instrumentals don't sound great, but everything across a good mix of music genres sounded fantastic with these buds. After using these for about a week, I am confident in saying that these are going to become my daily use earbuds. They are super comfortable, have great battery life, and most importantly, they sound great.

Beats is known for making some of the best headphones on the market. Before now you had to buy their much larger over the head earphones in order to get the best studio sound quality. These earbuds are here to change the game and pack studio quality into a much smaller package. I would first like to start off by talking about the sound quality. Beats is know for its signature sound which is typically heavy on the bass side. If you are a fan of other beats headphones these are just as great. Normally, earbuds do not have as great of sound quality as much larger headphones. The idea of these earbuds is to change the game and pack studio quality sound into a small earbuds. I believe the sound quality is on par with any of the other top headphones on the market right now. One great feature is that these earbuds include noise cancelling and transparency mode. The noise cancelling is pretty good. If you are listening to something with it on then there is practically no background noise. Transparency mode is a great feature so that if you want to be able to hear what is going on around you. It works but I believe there are other headphones on the market that do it slightly better. From a design standpoint, the ear buds are small and light weight. The fit pretty well inside my ears. The only thing is that under extreme activity I would not trust them to stay in. However, they might fit better in some ears then others. The come with a nice charging case which is made out of a hard plastic. It feels a little cheap to me but they built a lot into a pretty low price for what you get. Battery life is rated at 8 hours which is pretty good in my opinion. They can be put into the charging case for up to an additional 24 hours. I think these are good earbuds for anyone who commutes because of the noise cancelling and transparency modes. I believe these earbuds were made to replace big over the ear studio headphones. You can now get the same great sound quality in a much smaller package .

I’ve been using Beats by Dr Dre products for years now and one thing I like about their headphones whether it’s the in-ear, on-ear, or over the ear headphones is how loud, clear, and good they sound with plenty of bass. And for the price, beats newest in-ear headphones (or earbuds) do not disappoint. Just as expected they sound great. The earbuds themselves are true wireless, they last a few hours on their own but when it’s time to charge them, you just put them back in their case and they start charging again. Nothing revolutionary since it’s all been done before but these beats just have very stylish look to them. Like the AirPods, these pair to your iPhone instantly, pretty good noise canceling, and very comfortable to wear, all for a pretty good price. Including in the box is the earbuds, the charging case, charging cable and different size earbud tips, so that you can use the ones that feel most comfortable to you. Are these air buds not sound as good or have as many features as the AirPods Pro for example, but the AirPods Pro are significantly more expensive. So for what these do and their price point I definitely recommend them.

If you're in the market for new earbuds, I most highly recommend purchasing these new Beats earbuds! These totally wireless earbuds pack quite a punch in such a tiny package! Upon opening the box, the contents are very neatly packed inside. The buds come in a small oval container and are already partially charged. There are instructions and a charging cable as well. The cable is USB-c to USB-c so you will have to purchase a block for charging if you don't already have one. It will not connect to a normal USB charging block. This is honestly the only gripe I had with this product. They hold a great charge. I've been using on and off all week and they haven't lacked in power or sound yet. They are due for a charge soon though. I would say their claim to holding 24 hours of charge is accurate. Connectivity is a breeze. You open the ear bud case and press the small button between the buds and your iPhone automatically recognizes and connects via Bluetooth. It was seamless thanks to Beats being owned by Apple. I don't own an android phone so I'm not sure how easy connectivity is with that. Sound quality is exactly what I wanted and expected. These buds have noise cancelling as well as ambient sound so you can hear whats going on around you. Very simple to switch between the two. Phone call quality was crisp and clear on both ends. Music listening was perfect for using while multitasking and casual listening. I would honestly prefer a little more bass or an app to customize sound but they are still great without that feature!

The Beats Studio Buds are an amazing set of earbuds. With hard hitting sound and beautiful build quality these are my new favorite earbuds. First off, the sound. For my tastes, the Beats Studio Buds sound amazing. You get hard hitting bass and overall great audio quality. After listening to some music on the Studio Buds, I switched over to my Apple AirPods Pro and the sound difference was immediately apparent. The AirPods sounded flat and less vibrant compared to the Beats. For me, the Beats win the sound test. Additionally, there is a Beats logo on the tip of each earbud that functions as an audio control for calls or music. The fit is perfect for my ears as well. The Beats actually stayed in my ears through a workout which is a first for me and earbuds. In the box you will get different earbud sizes and a short USB C cable for charging. As for pairing and setup, it is super easy if you have an iPhone. Just open up the case and pairing should begin just like with AirPods. Otherwise, you can set these up like you would any Bluetooth audio device. If you enjoy the Beats sound, and like punchier bass, then you should definitely get the Beats Studio Buds. Can’t recommend these enough

    Secret to volume adjustment.

I bought these earbuds and at first the high volume seemed to unadjustable. After searching online, i found the secret. While in ears & playing, continually hold upper section of RIGHT bud. That proceedure will take volume up trememdously. Must be set to safe volume until you adjust. Be careful cause they do get loud. Adjustment can then be adjusted by single touch on buds or volume adjust on phone or pad or wherever you originate bluetooth source.

The Beats Studio Buds in my opinion are better than the AirPods pros and the normal AirPods. I have owned two pairs of the AirPods (1st gen and 2nd gen), the AirPods onetime get quiet and begin to have connection issues. I then tried the AirPods pros and had them for over a year but then just like the regular AirPods they got quiet and began to have connection issues as well. I wanted to try something new and I bought these, so far I think they are much better in sound quality and performance overall. The only thing I would say they would need to add in a new generation in these having detection that would pause the music once taken out of the ear or disconnect. These headphones are much more crisp and overall better than any of apples totally wireless headphones.

With any beats headphones, it is easily pairs with any Apple device. Sound is great, the fit works great. The earbuds do not fall out. My only small complaint is I wish I didn't have to charge the case as frequently as I did. It takes about a week and a half before I have to recharge it, but with my powerbeats pro wireless earbuds case it takes almost a month for another recharge with everyday use. Other than that, I'm very satisfied my earbuds

It is super lightweight in your ears and the design is really clean. The sound quality is fantastic but I think this is more targeted towards songs that have heavy basses so hip hop or some edm. It'll still work with any genre but I think those work best with these. The noise cancelling is good but don't expect super good noise-cancelling and I really barely noticed any differences between the settings. Overall, pretty good earbuds.
