First Impressions:
The look and feel of the pillow’s cover are elegant. The cover is decorated with copper embroidery, copper gromet surrounds on the air vents, and the top and bottom is a combination of interweaving copper and grey threads through a field of white fluffy material. The white fully material is unevenly spread to give the pillow top an angelic fluffy cloud aesthetic. It also very easily resembles a MineCraft copper mine.
A small zipper along one side of the pillow cover will allow access to the pillow inside.
The pillow is soft, malleable, and has little to no spring to it. The pillow’s surface has a very smooth, almost satin like feel and finish. I could feel an unusual lumpiness to the filler inside as I ran my hand over the surface. If felt like a bag of fluffy cotton balls haphazardly stuffed into a bag kind of lumpiness. Some spots were lite, fluffy, and gave little to no resistance when compressed. Other spots were stiffer and compressed with slightly more force. Pressing down on the pillow with both hands spread confirmed for me that the filler and firmness of the pillow is uneven. The reason for this is because the pillow’s filling is a combination of shredded latex foam and polyester fiber. This also explains why half the pillow feels firmer than the other half. More on that below.
Experience:
The first thing I did was remove the Glacier’s pillow cover and washed it. I am unsure if the pillows are good to go out of the box. In my case, the pillow cover smelled like a rug factory. Following the care instructions on the label I washed in cold water and tumble dried on low heat delegate cycle. This helped a lot. And the Glacier’s pillow cover came out of the wash undamaged and looking just as new as it went into the wash. I then put the Glacier in a pillowcase. This helps protect the pillow from all the nasty things that my face could excrete throughout the night.
How do I feel after 1 week?
I hated this pillow the first night I used it. I felt like my neck was too low, there was not enough support for my head, and my arm went numb when I was sleeping on my right shoulder. I was not using the pillow as I should have though. Part of the reason I was so uncomfortable was because my memory foam pillow held my head and neck at a specific height regardless of my sleeping position. I was used to that even though I woke up most morning with an ackey jaw and a stiff neck. I was not used to the Glacier’s two firmness zones. It was not until the third night that I had this figured out. My preference is to use the soft side of the pillow for back sleeping and the firm side for side sleeping. My nights went a lot better after making this adjustment. I slept well from here on out.
For a final test, I moved back to my memory foam pillow. This is when I realized how much pressure the memory foam pillow was placing on my jaw and ear. No wonder I was always waking up with neck and jaw pain. The Glacier was not exerting pressure on those pressure points. There were a few times where the filler proved uncomfortable. It was relatively easy to readjust the pillow to and find a comfortable position.
Cooling:
The Glacier purports to keep your head cool as you sleep. The pillow has front, back, and side cooling vents to allow air circulation and heat to escape. My bedroom was 68 degrees Fahrenheit or cooler during those nights. It should have been easy to keep my head cool. But it did not. I woke up in the middle of the night and in the morning with the alarm and found my head and the surrounding pillow are to be very warm. I am hesitant to blame in this on my pillowcase because it is made of thin, cheap material and does not insulate very well. I use this same pillowcase on my foam pillow and never felt this warm after a night’s sleep. Maybe the pillow is designed to be used without a pillowcase. I’m not up for going pillow commando.
PillowID
The PillowID of the Glacier pillow Bedgear sent me size 1.0. This means the pillow is designed for people designated as “small”. 1.0 is also applicable for small back sleepers, side sleepers, and multi-position sleepers. The Glacier 1.0 is also good for “medium” and “large” stomach sleepers. How do you know what pillow is the right size for you? The back of the box has a chart that will help you identify your PillowID. What the chart does not tell you is that your PillowID is based on your T-Shirt size. I confirmed on Bedgear’s website that the T-Shirt size estimate are the same for men and women.
My PillowID is a 2.0. Yes, I am using the wrong size pillow according to the size chart. So, how did I fair with the wrong size pillow? Better than I thought. I would still like to try out size 2.0. Why? Recall I mentioned how uneven the filling felt when I ran my hand along the surface of the pillow. This is because this pillow has two firmness zones. The Glazier 2.0 is thicker and hence will offer more support for my head and neck than the Glacier 1.0.
Split zone firmness:
The zones are not mentioned on the box or Bedgear’s website. The only reason I know about it is due some literature I received in the shipping box. With the logo “Glacier” facing you, the right side of the pillow is firmer than the left side of the pillow. I first noticed this when I rolled from my left shoulder to my right shoulder. I thought my head was going to roll off the bed because the pillow compressed so much. This is easily remedied by flipping the pillow long ways when you switch sides. After a few nights you just figure out how to use the pillow.
If you are a back sleeper then just pick a side that matches your preferred firmness. The firm side of the pillow met my needs nicely. I felt that the pillow offered enough support without putting pressure on my jaw.
Conclusion:
I started my week feeling that I would trash this pillow and move back to my memory foam pillow. Now, I am not so certain. My opinion has shifted over the past week. I am favoring the Glacier over the memory foam. Do I feel that the 1.0 is the right pillow for me? No, I am not convinced. The 2.0 pillow is probably the better bet for me. Does this make the 1.0 pillow a bad pillow? Not at all. The memory foam pillow was the cause of many of my neck, shoulder, and jaw issues. I am going to continue to use the Glacier 1.0 until such time I have an opportunity to try out the next size up.
Can I recommend this pillow? This is a subjective thing. I would encourage you to try it out if you are in the market for a new pillow and are tired of the same old discount retailer specials.

My wife wanted this pillow because she has hot flashes that are typical for women her age and she can’t sleep if she’s hot. She has tried various cooling pillows over the past few years with mixed results. The Glacier pillow did better than some but not the best she’s ever used.
I tried it too but it was a no go for me because it’s a bit too big. I like a flatter pillow myself but my wife likes thicker fluffy ones. This one is thick but Not fluffy. She considers it a medium firm pillow. Anyways, reviewing a pillow is pretty subjective but I do have a FLIR thermal camera that I used to show how this and another "cooling" pillow performed. Using it was interesting and showed that the Glacier Pillow is indeed different from a “plain old pillow” but not so much when compared to another cooling pillow costing less than $50.
I used the thermal camera on three different pillows to see how they absorbed, dissipated and isolated heat. One was a plain pillow. One was a similar but much less expensive “cool pillow” that uses gel and the Glacier 3.0. The thermal camera proved that there was little difference in the cooling performance of the “cooling” pillows but that both were better than a plain cheap pillow. It appears that the cover for it may actually make its cooling function less effective from what the thermal camera shows. Sadly, the vents in the sides do not do anything but look cool. That’s because there’s a satin polyester looking material that barely lets any air pass through at all. They call this “Air-X® ventilated gusset engineered with patented Air Vent design.” I call it sales speak. I went to Bedgear’s site and here’s what else they said about it: “Mesh panels and air vents on all four sides provide continuous airflow both in and around the pillow. This helps hot air escape the pillow for a more comfortable sleep."
In my opinion there’s No Way this can work like they say it does. Maybe they will comment on my review and explain it.
My testing showed that air passes through the pillow cover the easiest about like a Covid N95 type mask. Air passes through the pillow’s shell with a little more resistance than the cover. The gusset, with the air vents, hardly passes air at all. See Photos.
The pillow also had to be removed from its cover and aired out several days before use. We wondered if we were going to be able to review it at all when we unboxed it due to the smell. The zipper can be hard to unzip too.
We both tried it for several nights and the other cooling pillow too. We both liked the other cooling pillow better. It was a little flatter, more comfortable and more of a cooling effect.
The pillow appears to be made very well. Same for the cover. We really wished it lived up to the manufacturer’s hype.
I’m sorry to say that I cannot recommend this pillow for the price.

Keeps your head cool

>> Overview
Fall season is coming and one might think that lower temperatures merit a warm and cozy pillow, well, it is not the case. With colder weather coming into the Pacific Northwest, we switch to furnace/heating mode for the house, which brings us back to the problem of, how can I get a better sleep while keeping my head cool without opening the Window or lowering the temperature, and as a result, freezing my significant other who prefers warmer temperatures? The Bedgear Glacier pillow overall does the trick.
My wife is the one that usually complains about the room being too hot to sleep and waking up in the middle of the night changing her pillow for another one. Now, with this pillow, she doesn’t need to do that anymore, she can sleep the whole night just fine, or at the very worst, just flip the pillow and continue sleeping. I have even tried the pillow, and although I prefer warmer temperatures, I see myself using it while reading books or working on my laptop while in bed, as it keeps my head cool. My wife mentions that she would prefer if the pillow would stay at its coldest all the time, but for that to happen I’d assume you’d need some special mechanical/electrical component.
We feel this pillow is between 4 and 5 stars.
- Pros: no cables/battery, easy to move (or throw) around, easy to clean.
- Cons: still gets warm at some point.
>> Comfort
Surprisingly, this pillow is very comfortable, and we have lots of pillows from standard to feather and memory foam ones. We can tell this is one of the comfy ones we’ve had so far. We are pleased with it. We chose the 1.0 version as we sleep mostly on our side (also based on our heights), but we’ve noticed that sleeping at any position with the Bedgear Glacier 1.0 is just fine. I can be lying on my belly, back or side and the pillow is just fine. Of course, people would want to follow the recommendations depending on their size and the position they sleep in.
>> Sleeping
I haven’t used this much for sleeping, as I prefer to have something warmer, but my wife has been enjoying this one every night since we got it. Once asleep, my wife doesn’t need to wake up in the middle of the night to get another pillow. The only problem she has reported is that if she’s having trouble falling sleep, at some point the pillow would get warm and she would be forced to flip the pillow and get the cooler side of it. I’d say that this pillow does the trick for the most part, and ideally it’d be great if it could maintain the coldest temperature all the time.
This pillow is a must for houses that have the combo in which some people prefer warmer temperatures and others prefer colder temperatures, that way the temperature discomfort is minimized at least during sleeping time.
>> Resting
Contrary to “sleeping mode”, when we rest and watch TV or read something on bed, we have noticed that the pillow stays cool for about 20 minutes or so, after which we start to feel like it is warming up (or according to my wife it is already warm). This issue is easily fixed by just flipping the pillow and getting the cooler side. The latter might seem an inconvenience for some people, but we cannot ask a device like this to be cold all the time, I guess the only way of achieving that is if there is some active cooling mechanism, but unfortunately that mechanism will need some electricity (or battery) which wouldn’t be that practical for a pillow.

The pillow is soft and comfortable. It feels almost like the pillows that you have at a hotel. It is not firm at all and it does not feel like your head is weightless. The size is 20 in x 26 in. The cover does come off of the pillow for an easy clean. It has a zipper on the cover. I will also say that my head does not feel cool when I’m sleeping on the pillow like the box states. But overall it is comfortable. I do feel rested and I have not had any neck issues when sleeping on this pillow. I would recommend purchasing it.

The beadgear glacier 3.0 (size) pillow is recommended to those who sleep hot at night (especially if your head sometimes gets sweaty).
I would recommend washing the pillow before use, as it had a funky odor from it at first. However, after carefully washing and drying it I was able to use it. For the first two nights it takes getting used to, due to the polyester/foam blend that is what makes up the pillow. However, after the initial two nights of slight discomfort, I can now say I am used to the pillow. The pillow does not fall flat (after a week of use), as I continue to fluff the pillow (which I would recommend anyway). The pillow contains a ventilation system to allow heat from your head and neck to escape, allowing whoever uses it to never feel "too warm" while sleeping.
I found that using a pillow case in conjunction with the pillow was best, and my pillow case is a linen blend for maximum breathing. I suppose a user could sleep without a pillow case, but I found that the outside cover was almost too cool to the touch (especially if you run a fan at night).
Outside of my previous neck pain and ultimate discomfort from my down alternative pillow, I found that the Beadgear glacier 3.0 pillow was able to keep it's posture while I sleep, allowing my head and neck the ultimate support without the worry of falling too deep into the pillow. Likewise, the pillow itself remained cool while I slept which led to me to have a more comfortable night sleep.
Overall, if you have a hot head and you are looking for support and comfort, the Beadgear glacial pillow is a solid choice. It does take a couple of nights to get used to though.

Very Good Pillow...still waiting for a perfect one

This pillow is a very good pillow. There are different types of this pillow within the Glacier category. For me, a side sleeper I was directed to the #3 pillow. The pillow is very well made. It has a zipper cover and is vented. Yes, the pillow has vents. The pillow is comfortable and keeps my head nearly at the perfect angle. For me, I wish that there was a tad bit more filling. It is advertised as being a cool pillow, It is said to have an instant cool feature through the cover, but this pillow does not maintain a consistent cool. That is disappointing. Overall, I think it is a very good pillow. It gives me the opportunity for comfortable rest. It is probably the best one I have owned, but it doesn't hit the 'perfect pillow' marker for me.

This Bedgear glacier pillow has all the features I was looking for in a pillow, so base on the size chart I’m using the glacier 2.0 Large for side sleepers which has help me sleep much better since I’ve got this pillow. The pillow has instant cooler cover that is washable, mesh sides and air vents for a better and comfortable sleep. This pillow is a really good help for those that sometimes wake up with either neck or back pain that we sometimes get by sleeping on a bad position or a not so good pillow.

I had tested this pillow at another retail location and found it to be comfortable, soft and cooling. The product I received is much thicker (even though I ordered the softest level of thickness) and the cooling effect disappears quickly, so I keep turning the pillow over, which, of course, interrupts sleep.

This company does not stand behind their product with a satisfaction guarantee. I purchased a Bedgear Storm pillow. I went by the sizing guide provided on their box and it absolutely does not work for me. I contacted them less than 3 weeks later and they denied my "claim". When paying $170 for a pillow I expect better service. Waste of money!

The Bedgear Glacier pillow looks and feels very nice, it’s white cover and gold stitching looks elegant. The outer cover is cool to the touch and feels like a quality cover that will last. There’s a zipper so you can remove the pillow to wash the cover. It features 10 side vents that will help you stay cool during the night. I’m comparing this pillow to a regular pillow my wife recently purchased from a large warehouse store.
This pillow comes in several sizes, based on a chart (body size and side, back or stomach sleeper) you arrive at a size for you. According to the chart, I’m a size 2, body size medium and back and side sleeper. This pillow is thicker than what I’m used to. At first, I felt like my neck is bent too much because the pillow is too thick. After moving around and adjusting the pillow, I was able to find a comfortable position. I used it for a week and found it to be comfortable for side and back sleeping. The cover did stay cool throughout the night, but it is Fall by where I am, with cooler temps outside. While I found the Bedgear pillow comfortable, it wasn’t “that” much better than the plain pillow. I think my 10-year-old daughter put it best, she said “it’s comfortable, but it’s not comfortable, comfortable”!
Conclusion:
I think pillow comfort is very subjective, what’s comfortable to me may be terrible for everyone else. The Bedgear is nice in many ways, the feel of the cover, the softness and it stays cool, but other than that, I wasn’t too impressed by it. I really wanted to like it, but at this price point, it should be 10x better than my warehouse club pillow.

This Bedgear Goacier pillow design is very nice. I have been using it for a few weeks now. It has a little weight to it, not a flimsy pillow. I did not notice the cooling feature, although it does have the air vents. I may have needed a slightly higher pillow, but so far this one is fine, time will tell if it flattens.
The actual pillow has a cute design, I hate putting a pillow case on it. It does have a removable cover. Very nice.

I've been sleeping on this Bedgear pillow for about a week now and can confidently say it's the best and most comfortable pillow I've ever had. The pillow is constructed with materials and vents which are both designed to keep it cool throughout the night and my experience suggests that the design is successful. Although passive cooling will never prevent all heat build up, I've found that even when used in a pillow case (the cover of the pillow is removable so a case is not technically required), the pillow remains comfortably cool in use. It's also supportive without being too hard. My previous pillow used memory foam, which was quite supportive, but this design provides a better balance of support and comfort. It helps that Bedgear offers several sizes and a handy guide to help you pick the correct one based on size and sleep style.
Pros:
- Excellent balance of support and comfort.
- Multiple sizes to suite different body types and sleep styles.
- Remains comfortably cool throughout the night
- Removable cover for easy cleaning
Cons:
- The pattern on the removable cover is a bit busy - you're going to want a pillow case.
Overall I'm really happy with this pillow and can recommend it without hesitation.

I needed a better pillow and had the chance to pick one up through Best Buy TIN. The Bedgear Glacier pillow looked very interesting to me. I looked up the appropriate size for me and found it was the 2.0. However, the 2.0 was not available, so I decided to try the 3.0.
The pillow appears to be of very high quality. It has a very nice feel and is very comfortable. I sometimes sweat at night, but have not sweat using this pillow yet. I am hopeful it will live up to its name and purpose in this regard. Overall I really like this pillow, but I have decided I really do need the smaller size, so I’ll have to order a 2.0 and use this one elsewhere.
I do recommend this product for people looking for a performance pillow.

Bedgear - Glacier 2.0 Pillow – This is a very nice pillow.
It is soft enough to be pleasant and firm enough to support. I was amazed at how they managed to merge these two sensations into a single pillow. It is well built, and the pillow and the cover look like they will last a long time. I only had to have the pillow outgas for 24hrs. The pillow works very well for a back sleeper. Unfortunately for me, it is too high(approximately 1 inch too tall) to be pleasant for me side sleeping. For my wife, it is perfect for both back and side sleeping. It is cool to the touch at first, then warms, but it doesn’t get hot or uncomfortable warm.

The Bedgear Glacier pillow is just what you’d think. A cooling pillow. I usually write pretty lengthy reviews of products, but I don’t really have a lot to say about…well…a pillow.
It performs nicely as a pillow. It has a comfortable feel. It looks fairly thick even when you get the 0.0 model, but it smushes down nicely when you lay your head on it. I found it comfortable and didn’t have any trouble sleeping with it. I like its size better than my king size pillow…easier to flip and spin if I want to.
If you are a cooling pillow person, you will have just caught that I still Flip and Spin this pillow. That’s because, in my humble opinion, it doesn’t do a really great job of staying cool. It’s not bad, but I still find myself flipping it to find a cool surface from time to time. It has a great feel when you first hit it, but it equalizes pretty quickly. I expected more.
When I first opened it, I thought the external material of the pillow was awesome. It has a soft smooth feel that felt great on my skin. But, like all pillows I own, I put them in a pillow case. What I found is that the material is so slick, that the pillow works its way out of the case as I sleep. Kind of annoying to wake up to the pillow half out of the case. I was using a simple breathable cotton pillow case…nothing fancy or slick.
Overall, I feel like this is a quality pillow with average cooling qualities. It’s a bit on the expensive side for what I got out of it.

Perfect support, like sleeping on a cloud

This pillow is so perfect that I feel like taking it with me when I travel, so I do not have to deal with hotel pillows that are often too thick and hard. I am a side sleeper, and I believe that a pillow should support my head without bending it upward, putting a strain on my neck. The Bedgear Glacier 0.0 Pillow provides this perfect support, keeping my neck in a neutral position and absolutely no straining. It is hard to describe the experience of sleeping on this pillow—it is like my head is simply floating, like there is no pillow, no pressure at all. And, as the manufacturer promised, my head stayed comfortably cool all night. The only question I had about this pillow is whether to put a pillowcase over it. The cover on the pillow is removable and was described as machine washable. The cover was also described as hypoallergenic and antimicrobial. Still, it felt funny not placing a pillowcase over the pillow. So, I searched online for Bedgear information and found the following in their FAQ:
"Most pillow protectors and pillowcases do not have the same stretch and functionality as our products and will trap heat in your pillow, limiting the benefits of our technologies. We recommend our Dri-Tec® 5.0 Pillow Protector or Dri-Tec® Performance Pillowcase Sets as they are designed to protect your pillow and work with the technology incorporated into all our BEDGEAR Performance® pillows."
I therefore slept on the pillow without an extra pillowcase, and the experience was absolutely fine. If you want an extra pillowcase over it, that would be an extra cost, but it doesn't seem to be necessary.

The pillow I got was the 0.0 which is meant for stomach sleepers. I think was because of where the vents of the pillows were located. Yes, these have vents. Depending on which version you order, I think there are four different versions with the differences with at least the location of the vents on the pillow. The purpose of the vents, on the 0.0 are located on each side, is meant to lead the heat away and out the vents to further give you a cool pillow to lay your head on. I do have to say it works to an extent. I am not a stomach sleeper, so it wouldn't be fully fair to review it based on how I sleep, which is simply on my back. However, the pillow is comfortable, but in a few days in using it, I did find myself not sleeping very well. My neck did not hurt or anything. It's just that I did not sleep particularly well. So for the first time in a week, I went back to my regular pillow and I slept fine for the day I did not use this pillow. It's a shame because it is comfy, but shame I cannot sleep with this pillow. With retail price of this and due to my way of using this pillow I have to say it is a good buy, not a must buy. Would I recommend it to a friend? Well depends on if they are using the correct pillow in how you sleep.
