    Worked perfectly first time!

Got this when the built in ethernet card in my desktop wouldn't support my upgrade to Win 8.1. Installed it, downloaded the drivers on my laptop (since my desktop still didn't have a network connection), brought them over on USB, installed and poof! plugged the ethernet cable in and we're back on the 'net. Not often you find something that works correctly the first time! HIGHLY recommended.

Great for Surface Pro 3 or MacBook Pro

I got this for my new MacBook Pro since it only has 2 USB ports and no built in Ethernet port and I like to work with external hard drives, USB keys and directly wired to my Time Machine. Works like a charm. I have a colleague with a Surface Pro 3 so I got him one, added a USB extension cable so it wouldn't hang down awkwardly from the side, and now he too can use keys, hard drive and a mouse (he hates his pointer).

This device works great and has perfect features - USB 3.0 and Gigabit Ethernet - they didn't skimp on the latest tech for this reasonably priced device! I use this on my Surface Pro 3 which only has 1 USB 3.0 port. As an IT tech who needs the wired ethernet sometimes this dongle comes in handy!

    Convenient three-port hub

This hub provides three 3.0 USB ports that are backward compatible for 2.0 devices. It also features an Ethernet port. I purchased it because one of my USB ports on my laptop went dead. Having the hub is a lot cheaper than repairing the laptop.

    Cannot use USB hard drives

I had the same driver issues. Belkin does not have drivers. Even though they list the drivers and you can download them, the .rar file is corrupted and cannot be decompressed. I got the drivers from the chipset mfg's web site You cannot plug in USB 3.0 hard drives into the hub portion. Kind of defeates the purpose of the hub. Must be a power issue. If you never are going to plug in external hard drives, this device works great. If you only need Ehternet, get something else.

Finally got around to putting usb 3.0 belkin hub with Ethernet on faster machine. Q9550 liquid cooled, DG45ID Board, 6 gb ram 12800 corsair dominator, insignia USB PCIe adapter, nvidia 650 GTX ti boost video card, 450 PS smart, windows 7 64 bit. now running 5 network "at same time" TV's at 1080 p via network via Ceton Echo's. "closed caption on as well. "wife is totally deaf". Plenty of bandwidth now !! The adapter was not preforming well on previous machine. "dual core". I would have to give this product 5 stars on a review. Hats off to you, Kristoffer and the entire Belkin support staff !! Many thanks', Robert

    Intermittent issues

    Posted .

This adapter seems to randomly have disconnection issues. I use it on my surface pro 3 and I will randomly lose connection on the ethernet port as well as randomly having errors during file transfers from a USB hard drive saying that the drive is no longer available. I also seem to notice issues if I use all 3 ports at once, although that may be a issue with the Surface Pro 3 as well. When it is working it works great, it just has some "hiccups" occasionally.

There's not really much to say because the Belkin - 3-Port USB 3.0 Hub works as it should. My father and I are currently sharing it so our wireless keyboard/mouse and our ethernet cable are always plugged in and all we have to do is unplug the adapter from one computer and plug it into the other. I've been using it for a couple of weeks now and it's perfect!

The first B2B128 I bought for my Surface Pro 3 was defective. I had only got as far as trying out the USB ports, but with wireless headphones the audio cut in and out and with a wireless keyboard, it was non-responsive a good bit of the time - I thought the batteries were bad in the keyboard, but as soon as I plugged it back directly into the USB port of the computer, it was fine. I spent about 45 minutes for Belkin support to confirm it was defective. I was traveling and didn't have the receipt so they told me to call customer service when I did. When I did I was told I needed a case number from support, so I spent another 1/2 hour with support and another 1/2 hour with customer service. After days I just returned it to Best Buy and bought another one. The USB hubs worked fine on the 2nd one. Then I tried the Ethernet adapter. It didn't work so then I downloaded the software from their site. The Ethernet adapter was still not recognized by the computer. It recognizes the Ethernet fine thru the docking station. So, I contacted Belkin Chat Support again. After 1/2 hour of not even getting to the point to diagnose the problem, I ended the chat session. Too bad. I liked the unit size and shape as it was long enough to rest on the desk and not hand from the USB port of the Surface Pro. And if I was at a client that I needed to use an Ethernet connection instead of wireless, it would have been perfect. I used to consider Belkin high quality before these experiences.

    No Drivers for Ethernet Port

Great little hub, but it comes with no drivers for the Ethernet port (Required for Mac), and there are none on the Belkin web site either. After 3 calls with Belkin support to locate the drivers (each time escalating to the next support level), I gave up and returned it.

The USB 3.0 hub works great out of the box, but to use the ethernet port on Windows 7 or a Mac you need to install drivers. The problem is that as of this review (10/12/2014) there are no drivers on the Belkin website - despite the instructions in the package that tell you to go there to download and install the Ethernet drivers.
