The USB ports are 3.0, and the Ethernet port works as expected and installed automatically. This is a needed accessory seeing as to how modern laptops have no ethernet ports, and some are now doubling one of the USB ports as a power port as well.

Just plugged it in and my Surface found the drivers. the only complaint I might have is that the cord is a bit short to my liking. other than that perfect.

I wanted to stream Steam games from my PC to my surface connected to my tv. A wired connection is ideal for such a task, plus I needed the extra USB ports. Issue 1. I had to reboot my tablet to get a proper network connection. issue 2. my network name was that of my wifi AP and not what it should have been. issue 3. Within 45 days the device stopped working. I never carried it around or used it daily. It sat next to my tv and I only used it when streaming games. Because this was beyond the return period for Best Buy, Belkin was contacted and I'm waiting to see if they will send a replacement.

USB cord could stand to be a couple of inches longer. Not a problem for a laptop bit it doesn't lay flat plugged into a Surface Pro 2.

The drivers supplied did not work with the MacPro laptop, requiring Lvl-2 support. Once the proper drivers were installed, everything is working perfectly.

I needed more to deal with a printer that wanted to be direct wired to the computer and a label maker that also required a USB port. The Belkin had USB 3 speed and could handle the necessary connections easily.
