    Perfect and works great!

The Belkin Boost UP 10W Qi wireless charger is a great little addition to my desk at work. It’s fairly thin and has a minimalistic design that I really like. There isn’t much to its design and I do like that about it. Also, it charges my Galaxy Note8 phone perfectly. I do have a thin case on my phone, and I have had no issues. I had my co-worker test out his iPhone with a thick case on it and it was able to charge that device as well. There is a small with led light that comes on when its charging the phone and I image that won’t be too bright for a bed side installation. I tested its ability against my Samsung fast wireless charger that I already had, and it charged my phone at nearly identical speeds with my phone in both fast-wireless mode and normal wireless mode. It comes with a nice long micro USB cable and wall adapter. This is a great alternative to the more expensive phone branded chargers.

Fast & Dependable Wireless Phone Charger

    Posted .

The Belkin 10W Wireless Charging Pad offers a 10 Watt maximum fast charge to iPhone or Android phones that are Qi certified. I tested this charging pad on the latest iPhone XS Max. The charging was faster than the similar looking Belkin 5 Watt model that I also own. The only caution is when you place your phone on the charging pad, be sure you hear the charging sound or see the green charging indicator before trusting that your phone will charge. Placement is somewhat critical. If you do not hear or see the indicators, the charging coil in the base has not connected with the phone & your phone is not charging. Simply move your phone on the pad until you your phone beeps & confirms it is charging. The Belkin BOOST UP 10W Qi Certified Wireless Charging Pad is an outstanding performer. I highly recommend it & rate it 5 Stars.

    How Is This Sorcery Possible!?!?

    Posted .

Short summary: it works! Just set it and forget it! Of course, you have to have a phone / tablet that supports wireless charging and speeds will vary depending on your phone manufacturer. With Samsung phones, Belkin advertises charging from 0 to 80% in 35 minutes. But my iPhone 8 takes a bit longer. Still, the convenience is great. It charges through the phone case without a hitch. In terms of design, the charger has pads on the back to keep the charging pad from sliding. The micro usb cable plugs into other USB ports or the included usb wall charger. All-in-all, it works and I recommend it for anyone looking for a wireless charger.

    Works great with new iPhones

    Posted .

This charger is nicely built, base has a good feel to it and a rubberized ring on the top prevents phone from sliding around while charging. Maximum charging rate of iOS devices would be limited to 7.5W even though this charger can support 10W. Charger would work with any QC 3.0 compatible micro USB power adapter, own power supply is rated for 100-240V input and 12V 1.5A output. Cord length is about 57" which allows flexibility in placement. Charing base has a small LED at the bottom which glows white if phone is detected and charging, it would glow yellow if Phone is not correctly placed. I've found that precise placement is not required as log as the phone's center is approximately in the middle of a charging base. Charging speed - with 7.5W charger it's 50% faster than included 5W wired charged but of course it's slower than using iPad charger or 29W USB-C adapter with USB-C cable. Charger does not get very hot while charging. iPhone X is able to recognize my face when I'm sitting at my desk and phone is on the charing base. Overall - it's an excellent choice if your Phone supports Qi charging technology and you don't like plugging it in! Definitely an improvement vs the last year model with a proprietary power adapter.

    Nice Fast-charger does the job

    Posted .

This is Belkin's new 10W Wireless Charging Pad which gives the ability to charge devices through wireless induction instead of a straight-through cable. The package contains the matte black charging disk, 4' micro-USB cable, & wall charger. Disclaimer: For testing purposes, I used a Samsung Galaxy S8, S10e, and Fold. I did not use an Apple device. PROS: ----------- * For the phones I tested, the device supports FAST-charging which is great. This will happen if you use a "fast" wall charger like the one supplied with the product. If you plug into a USB port on your PC instead, it may charge at the regular charging rate. * Rubber border on top keeps the phone in place * Rubber feet on the bottom keep the whole thing in place * Disk feels solidly built, no rattles or loose/noise plastic parts * LED on the front signifies it is actually charging. LED turns off when not charging * 4-foot micro-USB cord is of ample length for most places CONS: ----------- * I wish a USB-C cable was used. I know USB-C is more expensive to manufacture, but no one likes to have to check the ends of the cable to see which way it plugs in. Micro-USB needs to go away. OTHER OBSERVATIONS: ------------------------------------ None CONCLUSION: ===================== This is about as simple a product as there is. The product does what it's supposed to do and has a good quality build. The rubber top/bottom keep everything in place, and the fast-charging capability on my Android devices is what makes this a good product. No one wants to wait forever for their phone to charge when in a hurry. Great little charger that gets the job done!

Easy to use compact Qi wireless charger

    Posted .

Compact wireless pad charger. Has a tiny micro dot light that lights up when the phone is charging so you know you have it seated properly. Worked great with my iPhoneX. I drained the battery down to 5% and it took 2h and 55 mins to charge to 99%. So basically 3 hours for a dead to full charge. Perfect for your desk or nightstand (the tiny light that shows it's charging is very minimal and won't wake you up while sleeping) - see attached pic by center of phone.

    Caseless iPhone users beware!

    Posted .

While it does charge your Qi enabled phones, this charger does have a few cons that I would like to address. Pros: • Charges your phone at 10W for some android and 7.5W for latest iPhones • Comes with everything you need to charge Cons: • Very light and feels cheap • Too slick of a charging surface While it does a decent job charging your phone, the surface rubber ring isn’t tacky enough that your phone will eventually slide off. Too often than not, I find that my caseless glass backed iPhone X slid off the small charging sweet spot that it will stop charging. The phone slide is usually caused by vibrating alerts but mysteriously, my caseless iPhone X will also slide on its own via magnetic force interacting between the charger and phone. It’s magnetic force may be due to my magnetic car mount that is probably giving my phone a small magnetic charge but either way, I can take 2 min time lapse videos of my phone slowly moving off the charger. Super annoying. This may not be an issue if you have a rubber case that creates a bit more friction. I wouldn’t recommend this for two main reasons. The charging puck needs more weight to keep stable on my nightstand and the mysterious magnetic-like properties that causes my phone to slide off the puck enough to not charge.

Excellent charger, with a few caveats.

    Posted .

Not having to plug in wires to charge your iPhone is great! We went from that old 30 pin charger, to the lightning connector and now wireless! The Belkin Qi works great for the most part. I recently upgraded to the iPhone Xs, although the Belkin Boost Up charging pad can charge at 10W, the iPhones can charge at a max of 7.5w. The charger does a decent job and charges my phone fairly quickly. I like that there is a LED indicator to let you know when it is charging. The LED can be misleading when you have any type of metal on your phone case. White LED means it’s charging, amber means it’s not. It would be nice if the light to indicate not charging was more obvious, like blinking red, or even a subtle audible alert. On a few occasions, myself and family members had an issue where we thought the phone was charging properly but when we checked after 2 hours or so, the battery was at the same level. When I initially placed my phone on the pad, the LED turns white to indicate charging, after 4-5 seconds, it turned Amber. This was due to either the metal disc I have in my case (for car mount) or improper placement on the charging pad. The charger should be fine for cases up to 3mm thick. Below are the time it took to charge my iPhone Xs. Charging speed: iPhone Xs % increase and length of time charge: Belkin Qi pad: Battery went from 23% to 73% in 1 hour and 20 minutes. 50% increase Apple 5W plug, wired charge: 28% to 74% in 1 hour and 20 minutes. 46% increase Apple 10W (iPad) charger: 36% to 97% in 1 hour and 20 minutes. 61% increase From the above results, as expected, the 10W iPad charger charged the fastest, followed by the Qi wireless at 7.5W and then the 5W iPhone plug. Conclusion: If this charger works for you, meaning your case is less then 3mm thick and you don’t have any metal on your phone case for magnetic mounts, that’s great, buy it, it’s convenient. If you have any of those conditions described, stick to the wired charger. A positive for wired chargers, when it’s plugged in, you know!

This wireless charger does exactly what it should, 90 percent of the time. I usually leave my phone to charge this overnight and most of the time it does a great job charging. I have noticed that when it starts to accumulate dust on top it does not seem to charge as well. There are multiple times I will wake up in the morning and my phone will have barely charged or maybe up to 50 percent and the charger seemed to shut off. Once I wipe it down well it seems to work fine for a few more weeks.

    Quality wireless charger

    Posted .

Wireless charging is the new-ish way to charge many smart phones. Instead of fumbling for a plug (and eventually wearing the port out), just set your phone on the pad and ding! like magic your phone starts charging. This charger from Belkin is a quality entry that has several safety features that will protect your phone and the charger, in addition to a higher wattage output that will speed up charging to most phones. It works fine through semi-thick cases and does seem to charge the phone up well without a lot of waste heat. The charger will also detect if your case has metal that might interfere, or if some other metallic object is placed on it so it won’t heat up things that aren’t actually a phone. If something did somehow go terribly wrong, Belkin has a $2,500 replacement guarantee to replace a device if it was damaged by the charger (very unlikely, this isn’t a no-name budget device). In the box is also an AC adapter and a short 3 foot micro USB cable. I am a fan of the adapter being included, many chargers at lower prices don’t include the adapter, and you need a higher output adapter than the one included with most phones to power up a charging pad such as this. With an included adapter, you know the charger is getting the proper input wattage instead of guessing that one you have around is going to do the job. I do wish the cable were longer, a 3 foot cable can rarely reach to the top of a nightstand, so you may need a longer cable to make it work. The included adapter does help offset the higher price of this charger vs. some of the competition at lower prices. The pad is a little thicker than others, but it can deliver 10W and doesn’t have a fan. An unobtrusive white light will glow when a device is placed on it successfully, or a red light will come on if an incompatible metal object is placed on the charger. Overall, this is a very capable charger from a well trusted brand. It will charge your phone rapidly and safely and not try to charge things that are not phones. The included adapter ensures that the charger is getting the proper input voltage and helps offset the higher price. You are likely charging a phone that costs several hundred dollars, maybe even a thousand dollars, so skimping on a budget charger doesn’t make a lot of sense, and this charger is a great option.

    Good, but slower-than-averaged, charging pad

    Posted .

This is going to be a very short, and simple, review, considering the Belkin BoostUp 10W Charging Pad is, itself, an extremely simple product. After all, it’s just a charging pad (they do offer, for approx $10 more, a stand version). This is a Qi-enabled charging pad, and can charge any device capable of being charged by a Qi charger. This would include any Samsung Galaxy S6 & Note 5 (or newer), the iPhone 8 (and newer), and most handsets made in the past 3-4 years from other manufacturers. According to Belkin, the charging pad provides up to 10W of charging power, depending on your phone. I do, however, have one complaint…albeit, a somewhat minor one…and that is that, for the most part, it’s NOT the wattage that determines how quickly a charger can charge your device – it’s the amperage output that determines this. The reason I mention this is due to the fact that Belkin does not mention, anywhere, what the amperage output is. I have always liked Belkin products, as they are known for manufacturing higher-than-average-quality accessories, at below-average prices, plus they tend to back them up with better-than-average warranties. Case in point, while most other products of these type only include a 1-year warranty (a few…very few…come with a 2-year warranty. This charging pad, on the other hand, comes standard with a 2-year warranty…and, upon registering it with Belkin, an additional year (3 years, in total) is added at no additional charge. If you want the fastest charging pad you can get, then look elsewhere, such as one made by your cell phone’s manufacturer, as the Belkin BoostUp 10W Charging Pad is NOT a “Fast Charge” accessory. On the other hand, if you’re in need of a quality charging pad, with an excellent warranty, and don’t mind the charging taking a little longer (a perfect example would be overnight charging), then look no further. Disclaimer: This product was provided free, or at reduced cost, for the purpose of reviewing the product. Nevertheless, the above review, be it positive, negative, or anywhere in-between, is a 100% honest review, and the price paid played absolutely no part in my review.

Affordable, Stylish, Quality Wireless Qi Charger

    Posted .

For roughly three decades, Belkin has been the #1 third party maker of wireless charging accessories. The 30 years of research and development that has gone into achieving this status is apparent in the simplicity and honesty of the Boost UP Wireless Charging Pad 10W. Designed to work with Qi Smartphones for faster charging – the Belkin Boost Up works with iPhone Xs/Xs Max, XR, X, 8/8Plus, Galaxy S9/S9+ and Galaxy Note9. I use it with an iPhone 8Plus. The simple circular design is stylish enough to enhance any office, hotel or residence. The design is not too large and clumsy and does not have a lot of cables and wires. Instead, its simplicity of design and placement of the cable attachment allows it to fit neatly into any space. The design allows the charging cable to fit securely on the underneath side in its own manufactured ‘cutout’. I do see one drawback to the Belkin charging pad in relation to its universal installation possibilities and that is that the 4’ cord just might be too short to accommodate certain applications. However, the charging pad does come with its own quick charge 3.0 AC adaptor. Other features include a small LED light that illuminates to indicate charging status as opposed to a brighter light that might illuminate too much from one’s nightstand - keeping them awake. Another great feature is that the charger works and charges most Qi smartphones through many light smartphone cases. A quality design feature of the charger is the non-slip rim that secures the phone from falling off the charger, and the non-slip grips underneath that secure the charger, itself, from sliding. The product also has a 3-year warranty. There are many wireless chargers on the market, but I prefer this one as it is simple, designed well, appears to be manufactured with quality standards and is more than ‘just’ efficient. I will probably purchase another or two for different environmental spaces in which I live, work and spend my time. I highly recommend purchasing this wireless charger if you are in the need for a wireless smartphone charger that is very affordable, has quality design and manufacturing, and works very well.

Does what it says on the tin

    Posted .

There isn't a whole lot to say about this charger as it's just that. A Qi wireless charger. It does what it's supposed to and, from my usage, does it pretty well. I've used it to charge my iPhone XS Max and, while I haven't done any scientific number timing, it does appear to charge my phone at a pretty decent speed. Setup is what you'd expect from this kind of device. Remove the disc and the cable from the package and plug them into the USB to wall outlet included. Done! The disc looks very decent. Maybe a little bit thicker than I would like (this could just be required by the 10W faster chargers, though) but not too bad. There aren't any super obvious and obnoxiously bright lights either. Well designed. While it's not confirmed that the XS Max actually supports the full 10W that this puts out, it does feel a bit faster than some of the normal wireless Qi chargers I've used with it. I didn't find it difficult to find the sweet spot on my phone with this charger so I've usually been able to put this in the right spot pretty quickly to get charging. All and all, if you're looking for a good, fast, 10W wireless Qi charger for your phone, this one won't really disappoint you. Check your budget and see if this falls inside that.
