    Solid, Dependable Travel Cable

I travel quite a bit and I also tend to wear out cables quickly. The Apple lightning cables typically end up fraying at the end by the Lightning plug and I have several that are patched up with electrical tape. I jumped at this Duratek cable because I’ve had a great experience with the Duratek Apple Watch cable. There are some definite pluses as well as some cons to be aware of when you pick this cable up. The cable is thick and covered in a solid feeling braided fiber. At times this is both a blessing and a curse. From a reliability stance, the thick braided cable feels nice and sturdy. However, this also makes weaving and using the cable a bit of a challenge because it’s not as pliable and thin as the Apple Lightning cables. I opted for the 6 foot cable because I’ve found that spacing can be an issue, especially in hotel rooms where outlets seem to be placed at the most random of places. While that length is overkill for use in say, my car, it’s nice because I’d rather have a longer cable and not need the extra length, than a cable that is too short. Additionally, the Duratek cable also comes with a leather snap-strap which makes bundling up excess cable nice. It also makes it easy to travel with. Belkin also makes a 4 foot variant of the cable, which would be better for folks who don’t need the extra 2 feet. Again, I would go for the longer cable since you can always use the leather snap-strap to bundle up the unused portion. Something else to be aware of if your phone is in a case, the Lightning tips on the cable are a bit thicker than the Apple ones. We tested it on my wife’s iPhone XR Lifeproof case and it fit - but depending on the size of the covering around the lightning port, your mileage may vary. All in all, it’s a solid cable that feels nice and thick and has become my default traveling / camping Lightning cable to use. It also comes with a 5 year warranty, so I guess we’ll see if the Duratek is as much a road warrior as I am.

    The better mousetrap

The Belkin Duratek Plus Lightning Cable is simply the better mousetrap in every respect. The cable that comes with your Apple products is good quality. But this thing is next level. In the past I have had multiple cables break at the joints. Mainly because my son will just grab the body of the cable and pull it out of the phone or iPad. When you do that, it causes stress on the cable at the connection where the plug meets the cable. In time it will break it at least stop working. The joints on this cable have some flex to them. So my hope is the even when exposed to my teenager it will last over time at least a little bit longer than the standard cables. Since I cannot change the habits of my son, this became a great option for me. First I liked the fact that it is longer. It’s about 6 feet long and more than enough for my nightstand where I charge it at night. Where as before I would plug in the phone and it would barely reach the table top. I love the smooth nylon braiding around the cable. I feel it will really minimize the chance it the cable being damaged when exposed to sharp objects. By far the best part is that it comes with a small leather snap that will allow you to coil the cable and the snap it closed so it maintains the coil. Great for storage and even better for the simple fact the cable will not get into knots. All and all this is a great purchase and you will be happy with your choice. By far the best I have seen on the market so far. Educate yourself before you buy. Do you want the $5 cable you can get online that will break in a month? Or do you want own that will last longer and is simply better quality? That is your choice. This cable is the one I’d choose.

The Belkin DutaTek Plus Lightning to USB-A Cable + Strap is a very high quality cable that should provide years of service. The cable is made with Aramid fibers tightly woven and very flexible. I had no problem using it both for charging and transferring data. The cable comes with a leather strap that does not come off the cable and makes it easy to roll up for storage or travel. I have two issues for this cable. One is the price however, I can understand that with the cost of premium cell phones today it makes sense that you would want to use a high quality cable from a trusted brand. This surely meets that criteria as most Belkin products are very well made especially there Apple accessories. My other issue is the speckled color used on the connectors. Some might like this but it just seemed a bit out of place to me. Overall though I have had great luck with Belkin products over the years and I found this cable both versatile and very well made. The 4FT length is long enough to charge and use your phone at the same time but not so long that you would get tangled up in it. This is a very nice cable but the price might keep some away.

    A Stronger Cable (*2)

Ok I've now gotten the 6' & 4' Belkin DuraTek Plus cables for the iPhone (black & white). Only had the first one fro 2 weeks when I realized how good it was and got another. It does not kink up and it seems so much stronger than an Apple cable. Having both lenghts is really nice. And with my 2.1A fast charger this cable does charge faster the the std Apple lightning cable (~20%). In my car I have Car Play, which requires my phone to be connected/disconnected whenever I get in/out of the car. I've had 2 other cables (one a the original Apple cable). The Apple cable cracked in the middle and exposed wires in under a year, it might have been kicked or tangled by a passanger, I plead innocent in it's abuse, but it didn't last, and it's damage concerned me. The Belkin DuraTek Plus cable has much stronger anchors at each base/end of the cable and the cable is much thicker (see picture). Instead if a plastic cable cover the Belkin cable has a woven fabric which bends less easily, but slides more smoothly. The difference in cable quality it noticable. And the list price of Belkin's DuraTek Plus matches the Apple's Lightning cable of the same length. With a 5 year warranty, and a convenient cable strap, the decision is easy. On Apple's web site their Apple branded cables get 2 stars. If you going to spend the money on a good cable, get a great cable from Belkin, it's Apple certified, and it will last.

A thick, sturdy, really nice, cloth cable w snap!

Got this cable because our last cable, which was much less sturdy, got all kinked up and looked to be presenting as a fire hazard. This cable arrived packaged very nicely and presented as a premium product. Opening it up I was very impressed with the cloth cover and the overall sturdiness/thickness of the cable. I do not think this cable will have the same issues as the cheaper, thinner one that afflicted my last cable that this one is replacing. I was also impressed with the little snap, which reminds me of the snap that one would have on a blue jean jacket. It's nice to be able to tidy up the cable as you see fit and the fact that it is attached to the cable means that you won't lose it. Ultimately "installing" the cable simply meant plugging it into my computer and then my phone and it worked great. I tested it for a while and it provided full charging abilities to my iPhone Max XS. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Durable Cable with attached cable strap

The Duratek cable is a very nice option for those who may go through inexpensive cables due to travel. The cable is wrapped in Nylon, and has a stiffness to it, the cable doesn't bend like the other OEM cables on the marker but this helps to prevent bends that could damage your cables. I switched my official iPhone charger with this as I use it in the car during my commute and bring it in to the office if I need to charge or help anyone with their phone or iPad, oddly a lot of people don't keep a cable handy so it's nice to always have one handy. Having the leather strap helps me keep the cable neatly together in my center console or within my laptop bag. I don't have to worry about the cable getting tangled with anything else I may happen to throw into the same pocket. The Belkin Duratek Plus is a great alternative to the manufacturers cables, but with more resilient for those on the go, or maybe you just want your cable to be a bit longer and withstand rubbing up against the nightstand as you plug and unplug your phone on a daily basis. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a durable replacement to check this cable out!

Got this cord for my iPhone XS and it’s pretty crazy how much better this is than the charging cord that comes with the phone. Everyone who has owned an iPhone knows that within a year or two, you’ll start to see fraying due to the thin, rubbery plastic they use and it’s hard to get their cord, even with good care to last long. With this cord, they specifically used a braided design to prevent fraying, the whole thing seems much sturdier than a standard cord. The packaging is great, you just pop the case open, plug in the cord and you’re good to go. My biggest and only gripe about the cord is it has a leather bound strap that is pretty large/clunky that is attached to the cord itself. The intention of the strap is you can easily roll up the cord, bound it by the strap and easily carry the cord around. The issue is that you can’t remove this clunky leather strap without cutting it off with a knife, so it’s just stuck on the cord forever. Please note that this is for the cord only, USB cube/wall port is not included Either way, it’s great and I’d highly recommend this over the normal iPhone charging cable.

The Belkin 6' Black Duratek Plus Lightning Cable is the only go-to replacement for the OEM charging cables and the way the OEMs should be. This cable is, out of the box, far superior in every way to the OEM and most other aftermarket cables. The rugged design is apparent the minute you pick it up. The braided/fiber cable screams "try and brake me!" The ends are reinforced by extended covers which help prevent pinching, bending, and breaking at the connectors like so often happens to the OEMs. The leather/button feature is an awesome touch as it helps keep your cord tidy and from flopping around. 6-foot is perfect length and the cable allows for high-speed charging! PROS - Belkin quality and features - Strong, reinforced, rugged! - Leather/button strap is perfect for this cable and not too bulky or obtrusive. - Solid build ensures years of use without damage and worry-free usage. - 6 foot is perfect for nearly any use, strap off the length you don't need if it is to long! CONS - NONE!

Quality lightning to USB-A cable for Iphone/Ipad

I have learned from experience to not buy cheap cables for charging my iPhone or Ipad. Inevitably, the cheap ones never last. This white, four foot cable from Belkin appears to be well constructed and states on the packaging that it is 10X stronger, plus resistant in bend tests compared to standard cables. Belkin obviously believes in the quality of this cable since it includes a 5 year warranty which is quite impressive. Some of the quality features include: resists breakage with laser-welded connectors, avoids electrical failure and breakage with reengineered strain relief and resists fraying with a tightly woven exterior of Aramid fibers. It has a leather strap for storage and cable management which is a rather unique material I've not seen on other cables. I'd highly recommend this cable. It is similar in cost to Apple cables and I have tended to have very good luck with woven cables compared to the plastic coated cables that tend to break or pinch.

4’ lightning cable - great length

The Belkin DuraTec Plus lightning cable for iPhone & iPad works as expected. It quickly charged my iPhone 7plus. The 4' length adds just that little extra that I don't get with typical 3' cords. The woven cord seems like it would be durable and last longer than a typical wire cord and it doesn't tangle. It comes with a little snapping leather strap to store the cord which is nice. It seems very well made at both connectors. I'm not certain if the lightning end would fit into certain cases for charging... like Otter. It fit into my CaseMate case perfectly. If the cats don't chew this, it will last a good long time... Which it should for the $$. If it does, it's money well spent. Highly recommend!

I am thrilled with this cable! It is all I wanted, all along, and in one package. Mine is white, speckled with gray, and it looks great. Why is this so special? The leather strap to keep it rolled up is very thoughtfully designed, and well made for daily use. The area we all grip to remove and or plug in our phones is perfect, hard plastic and able to be gripped and pulled without jeopardizing the cable! Plus it is molded around a heavyweight cable protector, seems like it will last for a long time. Belkin includes a 5 year warranty, unheard of prior to this. Oh, and it is 4 feet not 3, most of us need that extra foot to get from a charger to our phones or iPads. Amazing job Belkin!

I got the Belkin Duratek Plus to use in the rear seats of my van where the USB outlets are only on one side so the 6 foot length would work perfectly and I thought the design looked much more durable than other charging cables. I was right on both counts. The extra length allows people sitting on the side without an outlet to charge and still be able to use their device. It has withstood children's rough handling and gets walked on regularly. So far it is showing no signs of fatigue from use. The only complaint I have it that this cord is simply not very flexible. It has retained some of the curvature from the original packaging and seems really stiff. It's not a huge deal in my situation but others might to pay attention if using under different parameters. I suppose stiffness could be attributed to the durability, which is a trade-off I'm willing to make.

The Belkin Duratek Plus Lightning Cable is incredible. It truly feels like a quality cable, which is to be expected from a company like Belkin, but also for the price. It has a woven exterior and thick protective ends. The cable is a bit longer than the Apple brand cable, which was really a plus for me. It also comes with a nice leather strap to tightly store the cable wherever you go. I do not doubt one bit that this cable will last a while. This is truly a great investment, especially if you like carrying your charger around with you. I would definitely recommend the Belkin Duratek lightning cable to anyone.

In spite of the title above, this is the white belkin 4 ft DuraTek Plus lighting to USB-A cable + strap made for the iPhone and iPad. It took my iPad Air 2 from 4% battery to 89% battery charge in 3 hours while it was not being used. The cord feels sturdy and although I did not try to be brutal with it, I did twist and turn and pull on it some to simulate some passage of time and at this early stage, it held up well and appeared to be sturdy right at the junction of the cord and the attachments, where I've typically seen fraying or breakdown with the standard models. Although I've had it for a short time, the five year warranty suggests that the company is pretty confident that it will last and from what I see and have experienced so far, I think that it will. The addition of the strap is a nice feature, as well.

This cable looks good, is great quality, and has built in cable management. It cost a little more than a basic cable, but it is worth it. All of the cables that came with my Apple phones failed near the connector. This one has a strong fiber jacket, but is just as flexible as the original cable. The cables connectors have lite speckles of gray and the leather strap has a gunmetal like clasp. It is a good look. The leather strap is snuggly mounted to one end, but can slide a bit, if you like to leave a little cable at each end. It really works to keep the cable neatly wrapped.

The Belkin - DuraTek USB Type A-to-Lightning Cable is truly a great cable. From the moment I opened the box, it was clear that this is a high-quality durable cable that will likely last much longer than most other cables. The nylon weaving does a great job of protecting the interior of the cable while also allowing the cable to still be extremely flexible. The included “strap and snap button” cannot be removed and only really comes in handy if you are planning on folding up the cable and taking it with you often. It is a bit of an eyesore if you are planning on leaving the cable in one place for charging but if that’s not a big deal to you, you really can’t go wrong with this cable. As a result, I highly recommend it!

This is an excellent charging cable for iOS devices. The double-braided nylon jacket gives the cable a high-quality feel. The cable supports 2.4A charging and seems to charge my devices quickly. I've have had zero issues with it. Some other cables can cause the device to work funny if you try to access the device while charging; that is not a concern with this cable. The leather strap is nice, although not very adjustable. It works best when you simply need to bundle up the entire cord. I'd have preferred a more narrow strap with a few more holes for those times when I don't need to bundle the entire cord. Overall, though, this is a premium cable with excellent performance. Nicely done, Belkin!

I received this product in return for my fair and unbiased opinion. Belkin’s Duratek charge cables for iPhone fit a niche that some iPhone users have. They’re a strong cable that won’t easily fail from bending and flexing like many Lightning cables will. They support a full-speed 12 watt charge. The cloth overing over the cables definitely reinforces the strength of the wires. The connectors are some of the most solid on the market. The only two weak spots I can point out are the snap scratches very easily amd the price is just a little high compared to other options on the market. I can recommend this cable, but there are options that are just as good and not quite as expensive.

The Belkin Duratek Plus Lightning Cable is an excellent connection accessory for Apple devices. The texture of the shielding on the cable is crafted with high quality fiber material that not only feels durable, but is also flexible for routing the cord to the desired position. I expect to be able to use this cable for years to come. As an added bonus, the cable includes a leather strap with a button snap, making it easy to store in a book bag or traveling case while preserving the condition of the cable. It works great for charging my devices and connecting them for data transfer or audio pass-through. I recommend the Belkin Durateck Plus Lightning Cable.
