A Bit Bulky, but Works Great

This adaptor works as expected allowing you to charge your iPhone while also using Lightening EarPods (or other Lightening enabled headphones). Great for those times when you want to listen to music, but also need to charge your phone. Only slight issue I have is that the adaptor is a little bulky. At 4.5", when plugged into the phone, it adds some bulk.

    Great Audio / Charger Splitter

Like pretty much everyone else I was a little miffed that Apple dumped the audio jack in favor of the Lightning-only option in the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. I was a little irritated that I had to turn to a $50 accessory in order to be able to charge and use my headphones at the same time. The splitter works perfectly as advertised. An added bonus is, due to it's size, I don't have to worry about accidentally yanking out my earbuds from my ears - it doubles as a bit of a cable extender. Pros: * Works as advertised - can charge and listen at once * Construction is sturdy - device doesn't feel cheap * Extends reach of headphones by about 4" Cons: * $50 is a bit much to be able to charge and listen to audio * Doesn't work with cradle / dock configurations * Not a true, multi-signal splitter Bottom Line: If you're just dead set on listening to audio while charging, then the Belkin RockStar is a great accessory for iPhone 7 and 7 Plus owners. If you're open to the idea of using wireless, Bluetooth headsets, you might be able to spend the $50 and get a bargain headset. Also, I really feel like this could've been made into a true splitter - dual audio, video out, etc - but I'm sure there's some reason in the technology that makes that not as simple as splitting and analog signal.

Good accessory especially when you're traveling a lot. I fly often, sometimes 4 hour flights; this is great for when you need to charge your phone and want to watch netflix on the go without upsetting your fellow passengers. Great for even on road trips to Vegas or anywhere.

    Good solution with limitations

If you have an iPhone 7 and miss being able to charge your phone while listening to music or podcasts, then this is what you need. The two lightning ports are reversible between power or audio, making it easy to connect and use. Audio quality is the same as if you are connected directly to phone. It also works fine with the Apple lightning to 3.5mm adapter, which is good. The only negative I have (other than the price) is this will not work with any other lightning accessory, it is strictly power and audio only. You can't connect two audio cables either, it is only for passing through audio while charging. Knowing these limitations, if you need to charge your iPhone while listening to music over lightning this adapter works fine.

It's a shame that iPhone 7 users have to purchase such a adapter to charge and use the wired lightning headphone at the same time, but this is the new direction Apple has taken and sad to say... we'll just go with it anyway... I have always been a fan of Belkin's abilities to make a third party item feel like a first party. With this adapter, it will allow me to charge and use the lightning headphone at the same time. I did not notice if it had any effects on the charging but I can assure you this works. As you can see on the photo, it will only allow charging and headphone use, but will not accept double headphone or charging at the same time... I just wish they had a black option to match the phone... Thanks.

This adapter is a necessity for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus owners after Apple removed the headphone jack. Without wireless headphones, I have found myself wanting to listen to music while also noticing that my phone needs to be charged. Unfortunately, that was not possible without this adapter. Thankfully, Belkin developed and released this adapter quickly and it has already been extremely useful. It's small enough to carry with me to work or in my backpack for school so I can charge and listen to music at the same time if necessary. Overall, I don't hear any degradation in sound quality and the adapter has a high quality build. If it weren't labeled as a Belkin adapter, I would probably think that it was a genuine Apple adapter. Definitely a recommended accessory for new iPhone owners!

So ever since the 7th generation iPhone was announced I hated the thought of no 3.5mm headphone jack. The thought of choosing to play music or charge my phone really annoyed me. I like to lay in bed at night and fall asleep while listening to music and by that time my phone needs to be charging. I've tried some of the cheaper alternatives but they're not very good, you get what you pay for. This Belkin works great and does exactly what I need it to do, I can now charge my phone while listening to music, no loss in audio, no loss in charge speed, it works fantastic and is the only choice I feel for someone who likes to listen and charge at the same time

It's difficult to get excited about dongles, but with Apple's choice to abandon the standard headphone jack for a Lightning-only solution it's great that Belkin stepped in so quickly. The product matches the minimalist Apple aesthetic an iPhone or iPad owner would desire. The charging and audio ports are interchangeable, so no worries about plugging into the wrong port. Now you can use your headphones or output to your car/speakers and still charge. Note that it can't be used to dual charge nor dual output of audio.

Very small footprint, its very unobtrusive. It looks like original Apple accessories, except its a Belkin one (which are excellent). I tested it on an iPhone 7 plus and it charges at the same speed as if it was just on the ac cable. Everything is functional with lightning headphones: music, phone calls etc, all come through normally. I wish apple didn't go away with the headphones jack, but since its going to be like that for future iphones, this is a must if you want to continue using corded headphones!

Design wise you can't fault Belkin since Apple turning in to a dongle focus company. If your meaning to keep to wire head sets and need to charge at the same time this is your piece. Simple design, functionality that was lost by original manufacturer, light weight. I believe this is a must get for anyone that bought a new iPhone 7! You'll appreciate the extra length gained by the dongle

Charging AND Listening iPhone 7 - Ear pods & Bose

Works great. The form factor is a bit bulky, but gets the job done. Now I can charge and listen at the same time. Tested listening to music via apple ear pods, making phone calls (clutch for long conference calls where you need to be able to stay charged), and also worked perfectly charging and listening to music with the lightning adapter to my Bose QC 15 headset through 3.5mm audio.

The Belkin Lightning Audio + Charge RockStar adapter does exactly as it is designed to do, provide two lightning ports so that you can charge your phone and use lightning headphones at the same time. However, this thing is 4.5 inches long and seems a bit bigger than it needs to be for a simple function. It works perfectly with lightning headphones and a charger if you don’t plan on moving much while it charges as it essentially makes your phone about 4 inches longer with its stiff cable. However, there is much risk of a cable like this easily wearing down, just like regular charge cables, so I understand why. Though not advertised much, this will work with any device that is on iOS 10 with a lightning port. Though there is not much purpose, since older devices have a 3.5mm port for headphones, if you desire to use your lightning headphones and charge at the same time on your iPhone 6S Plus, you can, so long as you are on iOS 10 or higher. In testing with the 3.5mm adapter and various styles of headphones, I discovered a slight problem with headphones that have volume/play controls on them that are not Apple branded. With these specific 3.5mm headphones the audio would intermittently cut in and out. After bumping the volume button a few times the volume control would then work properly and the sound would correct itself. It would seem that using the 3.5mm adapter in this Belkin adapter into the lightning port does not smoothly identify the switched pins of ground and control as there are varying standards. However, after using the control buttons it made the distinction. Overall, for the price I don’t feel like it is worth the function it provides. It would probably be better just to spend the money for a set of Bluetooth headphones and use the lightning port for charging. However, not all Bluetooth headphones are good for watching videos and there are times you would prefer to use wired headphones while keeping a charge and this is the only certified product to do so.

Since Apple stuck us with needing adapters, I strongly advise you to get Belkin. I like to save $$$ but on this, the off label didn't work. I have one Belkin that has the 'slit' for charging and the hole for hearing but decided that it's better to leave the 'dangle' on my choice of earbuds (NOT Apple. They don't stay in my ears for even seconds!) or head set since I don't always need to charge while listening. But when I do need to charge and listen, the double 'slit' is more convenient so that I don't lose the 'dangle'. I just leave the double adapter on my lightening cord. Again, only Belkin.

After regularly draining my iPhone battery multiple times playing music, using Waze, etc., I really started to become annoyed. My wife was even more annoyed than I... so needed a solution to use in my old VW bus that would both charge my (or hers) iPhone 7+ and allow me to use the lightning-to-3.5mm adapter to plug into the aux port on the head unit. I was quite pleased that it worked perfectly for my oddball head unit in my old VW camper. I've never been disappointed with Belkin accessories, and this gizmo is no exception.

While I cant understand why apple got rid of the earphone jack, I do appreciate this for my wife who prefers the wired earphones over the earpods, this allows her to charge and listen at the same time. She has been using is a lot on travels with no issues.

    Apple iPhone Adapter

When the iPhone 7 came out, the first thing that came to my mind was, "how am I going to use my phone with my headset for the 4-6 hours of calls that make up most of my workdays?" When Apple removed the audio connector, I was disappointed I would not be upgrading this time. However, Belkin came along and saved the day. This adapter allows me to plug in my headphones and my power cable at the same time. Using the Apple supplied converter on the headset plug, both become lightning format. The Belkin adapter then allows both at the same time into the phone. Perfect!

I originally purchased a headphone jack and lightning charger version. Sadly, it only allows for listening to music, not for making calls. I switched to this and double dongled (chained a lightning to 3.5mm) to plug in a laptop headset to make conference and business calls while charging. Works amazingly! If you want to make business calls and avoid low battery anxiety, this is the solution that works.

This adapter enables you to charge your phone while using a headset or earbuds. I wanted this for the sole purpose of being able to watch movies on long flights while also charging my phone. Note that it will not enable the use of two headsets or sets of earbuds at the same time; it is strictly for charging and using one set of earbuds.

The disadvantage of a single port on the newer iPhones is you can listen via your wired headset (after all your wireless headset has to charge sometime) or you can recharge your phone. Good luck with that. This solves that problem, lets you use your wired headphones and recharge your phone. It does not work as an audio splitter for two sets of headphones.
