Since there is no headphone jack on the new iphone, I need a cable to provide for audio as well as a charging capability. This fits the bill.

Works great if you want to charge and listen to music at the same time. When I got it I asked if it could be used as a splitter for autido was about to get a flight with my boyfriend and we wanted to watch a movie. They told me yes it could have used as an audio splitter . You can not. Clearly says so on my the package inside. But charging and listening to music at the same times works well.

Must have if you want to play music and charge phone at the same time.

Don't let the price intimidate you it does what it needs to perfectly! I've tried the $10 ones you'll see online and while they'll work for a few uses there will be sync issues or you'll notice you'll have to unplug and plug back in a few times for it to work again. Well not with this one! Let's me charge and listen to Music or watch videos perfectly with no sync issues. Go ahead and spend that extra $ for this quality product, it'll pay for itself in the long run.

I have the iphone 7 and this works perfectly in the car so I can charge my phone and plug in my aux cord at the same time

This allows me to plug my phone into the charger while also using my headphones -- a necessity on long flights! Works like a charm.

PERFECT FOR MY AUDIO BOOKS AND CHARGING AT THE SAME TIME. My phone is hooked up via cord to my aux input. That plug would allow my audio books to play throughout the car. But then my phone may not have been charged enough. Yet I still want to listen. And I finally found the solution. With the lightening adapting 2 female pieces, one for Apple aux cord, one for Apple lightning cord. So much less hassle on long trips.

A little bulky but doesn't bother me! Love this item. Definitely a life changing product! Charge and jam out at the same time!

I bought this to use my midi capable music instruments with my iPad and iPhone and it’s been fantastic. Even with the usb-c connection on the end iPhone cables that plug into a computer, it’s not always that easy and this little converter is priceless

“Splitters” like this one are necessary for charging your iPhone 7 (and up) if you want to listen via wired headphones and charge your phone at the same time. I’m not a fan of that arrangement, but that’s Apple’s problem, not Belkin’s. $40 is a lot to pay for a dongle like this, but the cheap ones you find on amazon simply aren’t reliable or durable. I’ve never had problems with Belkin anything, so $40–while steep—seems reasonable for what you actually get.
