Randomly, the music would just drop out... no sound. I thought it was because both were plugged in, but that's not the case. I try to plug in the aux by itself and it will initially work for maybe 5 minutes, then the audio cuts off. I try to re-plug it in and it doesn't read the earphones... the audio awkwardly blasts through the phone speakers. Then, on attempting to plug it in again, no sound. I've tried flipping the adapter around and adjusting cables and no luck. Not worth the price or hassle.

The Belkin RockStar 3.5mm Audio + USB-C Charge Adapter (F7U080) should work out of the box. You can try to use another 3.5mm audio device for isolation and, with a different USB-C enabled device.

Cannot charge and use headphones simultaneously

BUT what I find is that the headphones work fine but when both are plugged in headphones AND the cord to charge the phone the phone rarely will charge. So very hit or miss. I thought this was a bad piece of merchandise and purchase a second one but the second one had the same problem. Would not buy this again.
