That was not the case. This product was made to be plugged into a computer/laptop to allow the split to be 1 side as audio output and 1 side as a charging port. This did not have any markings on the box to state it would not split the USB C charging base I own into a 2-port charger. For it's intended purpose this item is good though as it would do as intended.
