Unfortunately, opening the cable requires an allen wrench, making this holder not terribly convenient to use and a bit heavy, but very secure. I would not recommend it for a keychain because of the size and weight. I also bought an Insignia Key Ring for a friend and I think it is a better option for my needs.

I wanted to use this for attaching an airtag to a piece of luggage. It is easy to insert an Apple Airtag. It has a hex screw on the back that is unscrewed using the included hex key. Once unscrewed, the hinged case opens for insertion of the Airtag and to place the metal strap around your luggage handle. It is securely closed once the hex screw is tightened. Works great!

I have this attached to the handle of a large suitcase. It has withstood several airline trips as checked baggage and continues to be strong and secure. I am able to track the luggage as it travels around the aiport, tarmac and baggage claim.

Used this product to attach AirTag to my kid’s expensive lunchbox. He left it on the bus the first week of school and was stolen. The theif had to cut the handle of the lunchbox to remove this airtag holder. So it makes it harder to remove the AirTag from an item.

Could I crack this thing open with a hammer? Absolutely. Would I be able to snip it off with a pair of pliers? Without a doubt. Can it be opened with a really simple small Allen wrench? yes. But, like the door lock on your home, it's to keep honest people honest, and makes for a good, relatively secure AirTag holder on your kids backpack or your computer case.
