    This is the "thingy" that I have to use to connect my external hard drive, DVD player, etc. to my newer laptop, which has only USB-C and not USB ports. I bought one that had been opened and so I got a small discount. I appreciate being offered that.

    Works as intended, if you need a Multi-port dock this is it for as simple as you might need. didn't need the HDMI, but not a con, Biggest gripe is the material that was used. It feels like touching chalkboard and scratchy loud when placed on surfaces. USB ports were very stiff to plug/unplug as well - can only assume they'd be easier to use.
