Easy to use CAC Reader

Then, I pushed on my CAC gently until I felt it engage, and it worked perfectly. The reader works seamlessly with Windows 7. No software or drivers had to be loaded. Just plug in the USB and go!

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.My CAC reader I had purchased back in the Spring surprisingly gave up after 7 months and I was forced to scramble to find one within 24 hours before my project was due to go to our production environment. I found this one in a store many miles away (go figure none in the state I live in, lol). I made the 3 hour journey to and 3 hour journey back with it. I plugged it in and tried my card immediately. Nothing happened... I tried and tried again and again to get it to read my card (my previous one had no issue at all the first time), yet nothing. Finally, frustrated, I began wiggling the card after fully inserting it. I started noticing the blue light began flashing indicating it found my card. A few more wiggles later and my computer fully found my card. Once I had found that sweet spot, I have not removed the card. Needless to say, it's frustrating to have to drive 6 hours altogether for a card reader that isn't perfect. It works fine once you find the sweet spot, but still, frustrating to get to that point.

Used militarycac.com, no solution, so called Belkin technical support. Support person says Belkin does not support this item. When asked why, the support person says, "It is for your security." What? She referred me back to militarycac.com, which I had already told her did not give me a solution. I am returning this item to Best Buy where I purchased it.
