It has small openings on the rim which allows space for the spoon handle, but it gives room for flys to enter. Not a good idea. They would be good if they did not have that opening.

Reasonably priced

The crocks are nice and wash up well in the dishwasher. What I didn’t like about this product is that when you set it to warm it gets way too hot.
