There is definitely a difference between the cheap plastic toasters and this one. There are a lot more heating elements in this thing which makes it toast quickly and evenly. Gotta say I'm not much of a toast connisuer but I find myself eating sandwiches on toasted bread and toasting my begals.(I never did that with my old cheap one)
