I was skeptical at first but very pleasantly surprised once used a few weeks. I would recommend to a friend or family member. For the price, I do not believe that you can find anything better, I tried to two years. I also come from a full scratch bartender background where I operated a probably $10,000 dollar machine every day at work in the bar for years.
Pros:
Small so it can fit in more places like an RV, schoolie, personal office & etc.
20 bar instead of 15 or lower which 15 bar is minimum for proper extractions of many things, like in a lab, you can literally do medical grade extractions with this thing for under $200.
The frother really is amazing, I have seen people complain about splatter, but they simply are not experienced. as an experienced person, it is pretty much loke one of the $5000+ counter top rigs.
Simplicity & reliability.
Cup/Glass warmer on the top.
Seems to go to sleep on its own which makes me feel safer about forgetting to turn off.
Cons:
Super light, I find myself holding the top of the machine to remove the handle, I imagine the same for most machines under the $1500 mark however.
If you run out of water while running, an air bubble sets in the line. You have to refill and run the frother to clear the air.
If you leave the last batch of coffee ground in the machine, the next batch will taste terrible until you clean it all, so clean after every use, also typical of large over priced machines. ;)

An Easy Way to Elevate Your Coffee Game.

I would say I am a slightly above average coffee enthusiast. My wife and make coffee just about daily if we aren’t out and buy it at a local coffee house. We grind our own beans, and generally alternate between making Iced and hot coffees at home. We saw this offering from Bella and jumped at the chance to elevate our coffee experience a bit.
First, this looks beautiful sitting on the counter. It doesn’t take up too much space, still leaves plenty of space for our other coffee appliances. We have been at it for a little while now learning to make a good cup of espresso. You get everything you could need in the box, with the exception of cute little espresso cups. Luckily, my wife was able to find some nice cups to use.
Using the machine is very straightforward, you have the option to make a singel or double shot, you get the esresso maker, 1 and 2 cup filter baskets, tamper spoon, and a cleaning pin. It’s actually fun trying to figure out the best coarseness of the coffee grinds, and finding best way to tamper down the grounds. I feel like we taste more out of the coffee beans. This could be the fact that I am paying more attention to the flavors since I keep trying different ways of grinding, and tamping the beans in order to get the best taste. We are really enjoying the experience.
It’s also nice that you get the steam wand/hot water dispenser. My wife has tried to make a good latte using that steam wand, and it wasn’t bad for a first effort. The top of the espresso maker acts as a warming tray, and while I like the concept, I don’t really see myself using it very much.
This is a great espresso maker, perfect for us novices who are looking to elevate or coffee experience. You are getting just about everything you need to get started. You just need to provid your own beans, a good grinder, and some nice cups. This would make a great gift for any coffee enthusiast.

Pretty Good Little Unit

I really wanted to love this Bella Pro slim espresso maker. I have a small kitchen and counter space is at a premium. This seemed ideal. First off, I succeeded in losing the included directions. I figured I’d find a manual online. I tried the Bella site as well as two sites who specialize in product manuals. I couldn’t locate the manual for this specific unit. I did watch the video which was short and informative. There are three buttons with pictures, one cup, two cups or steam. There’s a knob on the side for the amount steam. Wouldn’t you always want that on high? It did steam the milk pretty hot and foamy which made a lovely hot chocolate. The product description says the steam wand swivels 360 degrees. For me it is more like 180 degrees. It goes from side to side but does not go up or down. A stainless steel cup to steam the milk is not included. I think that is pretty normal. The espresso that came out was nice and dark with a lovely crema. For a small unit it seems well made. Also, the aesthetic is nice, not too shiny. For me, the portafilter came with the two cup filter basket already in the portafilter. Although a one cup filter basket came with the unit, I am unable to remove the two cup filter basket. I even tried a small screwdriver to dislodge the filter basket and I succeeded in breaking the screwdriver! I’ll keep this one on the counter and see if I can break that $5 a day drive thru latte habit I have. Overall I think the pros outweigh the cons.

Great Slim Espresso Machine

At first, reading through the instructions, I was intimidated by the complexity of all the steps to purge and clean, blank shot, run steam, run water. But...it only took a couple of times to get used to the process and is great to have an espresso so easily available.
Some of the best features include a separate water tank, that removes for convenient filling, two different sizes for grounds, and even the scoop which doubles as a tamper and cleaner.
The steamer/ milk frother is very easy to use and froths perfectly. The tube is easy to clean and has a stainless sleeve that comes off to ensure no buildup of old milk (especially when shot steam afterwards to assist when wiping).
For an inexpensive and compact espresso maker, the flavor is still robust and you can produce a consistent cup of espresso or cappuccino.
The unit seems to be of good quality and overall easy to keep clean.
This slim espresso is great for everyday use and does not take up much counter space. A great machine for a person who wants to be a home barista...not as convenient as my other espresso cup machine, but still worth recommending.

The Bella Pro Series Slim machine is one that does get the job done, but I wouldn’t say it delivers the greatest espresso. I guess you could say it’s meant for someone who maybe doesn’t have a lot of space for an espresso machine and/or is on a tight budget. In other words, it’ll get the job done if you really want espresso, but it certainly isn’t anything to write home about either.
As you would expect at this price point, it’s somewhat cheaply made. That’s especially reflected in the aesthetics and the function of the milk frother and filter. The filter is just hard to get in and out, irritating as you know, it’s kind of important. The frother doesn’t really get hot enough to do what it was designed to do. It makes the milk hot but it doesn’t give you a good froth like you’d want with espresso. The espresso itself actually is pretty good. As with any espresso machine, you need to get the hang of it, and you’ll probably make a couple of not so great cups to start with.
Like I said, it’ll do the trick if you need it to. However, I think there are much better options out there for not a lot more money. Obviously, you can spend a ton of money on espresso machines, but there are ones out there for a decent price that will do a better job.

The Bella espresso maker is easier than I thought espresso was. Let me say that I am a novice, and this is the first time making espresso or even really having it. It was something my wife wanted, so I was excited about it too. Anyway, the process to using this machine is very easy, but I did not find the instructions clear so I had to jump over to youtube. I quickly found plenty of videos that made it easy for me to learn to use the machine.
I will say that my favorite part of this is that the steamer can also just be used for instant hot water. I currently have an electric kettle, which I will now be giving away because I don't need it anymore. This is a great extra feature I had no idea this would have.
As for the espresso itself, it's delicious. That said, remember that you need fattier milk to get a really good froth in a short amount of time. If you are using slim milk, it will take some time to get a good froth, unless I am doing it wrong.
Ultimately though, this is smaller than my drip coffee maker, which makes it a perfectly acceptable addition to my kitchen counter space. I don't like to give up counter space unless it's for a good reason, or for something that can do many things. The Bella espresso maker does both with its ability to give me hot water on demand.

Makes a pretty darn good cup of Espresso

Out of the box the initial impression of the unit is great, it's sleek /slim, fits well on our coffee bar and looks really good with our current setup. The espresso it makes is good and the froather on my unit worked better than I thought it would.
pros
houses a decent sized water reservoir
quick to heat up for both shots and steaming milk
comes with both a 1cup and 2cup shot filter, and a packing spoon
the steamer is strong for froathing without issues
cons
The main thing I disliked was the manual, not sure if it is the way its worded or what, being as this was my first espresso machine, not understanding any of the lingo of the unit made me feel honestly a little stupid, and the way things are worded felt way over complicated in the instructions, and probably took me 5 times reading how to get the unit initially setup and "cleaned" before I was comfortable trying what it was saying to do, perhaps a video on their website of the initial setup would be helpful, but thats neither here nor there.
The only other thing I was confused about is after making a cup of espresso then switching over and using the steamer/froathing function. I couldn't seem to figure out how to go back to making the next cup of espresso; When I would shut off the steamer part, all the lights would flash but they never seemed to stop to where I could start the next cup of espresso. So I found myself shutting the unit off then back on to make the next cup, I am probably just impatient but I felt like I waited upwards to 3 minutes for it stop flashing and when it didnt I ended up just turning it completely off and then back on, which remedied the issue. This was not that big of a deal and again probably just me being impatient. Outside of these two things with my unit this is all I experienced that was a little on the down side, the rest was all gravy and to be honest I love this espresso machine after getting a few drinks made out of it.
Overall, once I overcame the initial cleaning setup process and was finally able to start making espresso, things went quickly and easily then on out. The first cup I made I used the steamer/froather without issue, the steam pressure was strong and quickly produced a cup of froath for my first hot latte I made. The shots come out quickly and strong, nothing leaked everything worked as it should (minus the very very tiny issue i mentioned above, but again this is probably my lack of understanding more than anything so I am not really holding that against this review).
So far I have made espresso shots, hot lattes and cold lattes and quite frankly it makes a darn good cup of espresso in a very quick amount of time. I am very pleased with the unit I received and for the price point it is at currently, I would recommend anyone needing an espresso machine to give this one a try!

I like the idea of having an espresso machine in my own home because it skips the need to go to the coffee shop and spend $4 on a coffee every day when I can buy the syrups and make them at home. The only difference is buying whole bean coffee and needed a grinder to grind beans for the whole bean taste.
I have tried a few espresso machines and I will say there is a leaning curve, even after being a barista for a few years.
I like that this model is much more slim than other options so it’s great if you have a smaller kitchen. If would even be great for the office.
It has the ability to pull two shots at a time which is super convenient and time saving.
It also has a side milk frother so you can make your favorite drinks at home!
I will say to follow the instructions carefully or watch instructional videos as it can be confusing with the different parts of the machine at first.
Overall, I like the functionality and easy set up and it’s a great smaller machine that works even for those that aren’t super familiar with espresso or pulling.

THIS… Is Bella Pro Series Slim Espresso Machine and my first steps into the espresso market. I have been lured in by the aura of grinding the coffee beans perfectly and making the best espresso shot every morning by illustrious and well made videos on social media… and my wife. The Bella Pro Series slim espresso maker is my first try at all of the things: frothing, grinding the beans and packing the perfect amount into the cup. I know that there are several steps to the process and I made sure beforehand that my water wasn’t too hard or too soft. When I received my Bella Espresso (thats how I will refer to the Bella Pro Slim espresso moving forward), I was confused picking up the box due to how light it was. Unboxing it, it is slightly smaller or comparable to a keureg single cup (not the fancy ones) coffee maker and certainly lighter than one. It has features you will find familiar to other makers of coffee and espresso such as a removable water tank, a few buttons on the front, and some really well made stainless steel touches with real metal and the plastic that is used is quite nice and easy to clean.
Getting Started was where I encountered the first hiccup in the process, and while I have an espresso maker already… its an automatic. I found the directions for my Bella Espresso were somewhat lacking. It seems like they made instructions for someone who already knew what they were doing to a degree and left some gaps that required me to jump on over to youtube to solve… but the instructions left me going in a circle beforehand. It really feels like the instructions where written out in another language and then translated over as it was just somewhat hard to read and understand. Once I got the hang of it, I really enjoyed the process. Everything was so manual and involved, everything fit so perfect. From tamping in the coffee grounds to locking them in, everything fit very nice. When clicking the buttons, I was somewhat turned off by how much they wiggled around, but they work just fine.
The espresso it makes is actually really good, certainly close to my automatic espresso maker in quality and consistency. I found that all the tools included were also sufficient to set it all up correctly too outside of the grinder for the coffee beans, which is somewhat rather a personal opinion on how you want them ground (depending on who you ask). The biggest let down I experienced was with the frother, I just found it never got hot enough to froth my milk to the point that I enjoyed. Maybe I am a stickler or picky on how I want my milk frothed, but I had to resort to my other espresso maker to froth my milk sufficiently. All things considered, this makes a great shot (with the option for two) of espresso. Certainly punching up in quality of the espresso enough for me to overlook some of the blemishes that it encompasses.
One a few final notes, this maker is limiting in the size of the cup that you can use. I normally shoot espresso into my coffee cup and then move over a half step and shoot coffee into my cup from my coffee maker… but the Bella Espresso doesn’t tolerate even my smallest coffee cup and will have to use smaller tea cup to specific espresso shot maker cups. I was able to use a large shot glass just fine to work around this. I really think this is a great place to start for espresso makers, and while it doesn’t grind your beans or anything fancy… it does exactly what it needs to so you can get an understanding of exactly how you like your espresso before you take out a second mortgage on an automatic machine or one that is several times more expensive. As always, Bestbuy has an excellent return policy and even better customer service, so you never have to worry about buying a product that you don’t like… so why not test it out?!

Just got my Bella Pro Series Slim Espresso Machine a little over a week ago and have ben putting it through its paces. Now on my usual early morning commute, you could catch me stopping my Sonic, Starbucks, or McDonalds to grab some caffeine on my way to the office. But all that changed with the Bella Pro Series Slim Espresso Machine. I was anxious to get this espresso machine to start making my own coffee drinks at home and save some money along the way. That $7 for an iced coffee starts to add up over time.
Inside the package is:
* Bella Pro Series Slim Espresso Machine
* Single & Double Stainless Steel Filters
* 2 Spouted Portafilter
* 2-in-1 Coffee Tamper Spoon
* Cleaning Pin
* User Guide
On top of the espresso machine is a warming plate to keep your favorite mugs warm and ready to go. On the front you have the control panel which allows you to choose between 1 and 2 shots or steam. At the bottom where you would place your mug is a removable tray for cleaning or if u need that extra space for a larger mug. A power button is at the bottom on the left side of the machine and the function control dial and steam wand are located on the right.
The Bella Pro Series Slim Espresso Machine is really easy to use. Simply add your water to the reservoir in the back of the machine. It can hold up to 1 liter of water. Next, using the tamper, tightly pack your espresso tightly into the single or double stainless steel filter. Pop it into the portafilter. Place your mug below and you're ready to go. This machine may be small in size but so far it has handled anything I have thrown at it. My go to choice is an Iced Caramel Macchiato. Being someone that has never really used an espresso machine before, I found this espresso machine fairly easy to use. And its great for those of us with limited counter space or top cabinets that sit somewhat low.

This machine was exactly what I was looking for. I have a small space so i needed a space saving machine that worked every time. i got that with this espresso machine. Extremely simple to use and the single and double espresso shots are perfect every time. The only drawback is the steam wand. I do not drink a lot of hot drinks that would use the steam wand so it's not a major issue. but if you only drink hot lattes and other drinks that would require the wand i would recommend another. it works but does take some time.

A Surprisingly Good Simple Espresso Machine

Fully automated expresso machines have sprawled out in size and in price recently, but not everyone is going to need something over $1000. At the other end of the spectrum is this slim espresso machine by Bella that provides simple espresso drink functionality.
This machine is designed to warm the portafilter and cup with hot water, to extract a single or double shot of expresso at the touch of a button, and to steam milk. That's it.
The one liter water tank is removable for easy filling. You measure coffee out with the included measuring spoon which doubles as a tamper (I don't think this machine is really designed for people who would be weighing their dry grounds). And the shot volume is pre-set and extracts your shots automatically - you press a button and the machine initializes and stops the flow of hot water on its own. Because this machine operates with a single pump, you must transition to the steam mode to froth milk for espresso drinks. It comes to temperature quickly so there is very little delay between turning the machine on and when you can start making espresso.
Even my first shot came out beautifully - perfect volume with an impressive layer of foamy and rich crema on top.
One unexpected feature in this machine is that you can adjust the volumes associated with the single and double shots buttons. And I found the fixed volume to be pretty reliably fixed - the machine reproduced shot after identical shot.
I found only one fault with this machine - the temperature of the water for the extraction can be inconsistent and tended to start out way too cool. As a result, some of my espressos were sour tasting.
And I should end with the caveat that this machine is mostly plastic and aluminum and might present a challenge for heavy-handed users.

Easily one of the simplest and best espresso makers available today. It is super light and sleek and fits into any countertop without taking a lot of space. Stainless steel look makes it look very classy and stylish in the kitchen. Setup is really simple. Steams milk automatically and perfect every time. It is super easy to use and is intuitive. It offers a large water reservoir, cutting down on the number of times one has to refill. There is also a self cleaning function that shoots hot water through the spout, ensuring there is no milk left in the spout to turn sour. It's designed with convenience in mind. You can fill the container at any time and even leave it in your fridge
Easy to use, heats up fast and make a great esspresso. Down side is it's not quiet. Pretty loud, was expecting it to be a little softer sound. Very good quality appliance to be on any kitchen.
I would really recommend this to any one that needs a sleek and a simple espresso maker and a decent price range. Great one from Bella.
