Its a great gaming monitor. Definitely improved reaction times. 144hz is only limited to Display port

It might be okay as a gaming monitor which is what it's designed for, and that's why I gave it a moderate number of stars. But for every day viewing it seems like it was way too bright, I had to turn it down to minimum brightness for it to be easy on my eyes, and the colors are washed out and pale.

I have an older home built MSI running a dual boot with Ubuntu 18.04 and Windows 7, almost always in Ubuntu. Rarely use Windows any more. I have an Nvidia GeForce 8400 dual monitor setup. I've compared against both an LG 24" and Dell 24" as a second monitor, and there is NO COMPARISON! The second monitor is so lame compared the the BenQ I just bought a second XL2411P. I didn't even have to install drivers, both Ubuntu and the Nvidia server detected the monitor. That's the thing about Linux, everything usually just WORKS. No fiddling about with drivers. What a lot of reviewers seem to miss is the settings control to the far left. I have it in Movie Mode most of the time which is the brightest, sharpest, high contrast I've seen in a display. I work as a web developer and in the past as a DTP tech, so am very familiar with color and this monitor rocks. I did notice some compatibility issues with software. There are several gamer modes and "standard." If you're having issues with a particular program or system, set the mode to Standard and it should work fine while retaining the high contrast, sharpness, and frame rate. Although Best Buy is not the "best deal" on a BenQ, this monitor is well worth the overhead and will have it paid off well in advance of the 6 month no interest. I will soon have two. :-)
