The Best Buy Essentials Indoor/Outdoor extension cord is well made and works well, but the price is perhaps on the high side. First, the extension cable is very flexible for a 16awg 3 conductor extension cable. The cable can be tightly wound to make it compact. In particular, the low temperature flexibility is impressive. I left the cable outside in 10F temperatures and the cable was still quite flexible. I couldn't find a low temperature specification but typically these are in the -30F to -40F range. The extension cable has a sticker on it that give the specs as 13A, 125V, 1625W max. Note that this differs with some online descriptions that state 15A max. I ran a device that pulls about 8A and the cable stayed cool and did not get at all warm to the touch. I couldn't determine what the jacket material is made of. The molded ends feel well made and solid and there should be no worries about durability with this cable. The cable is UL listed meaning it has passed a safety certification standard.

Like other companies, Best Buy has launched what they call their own brand “essentials” line. Which is basically products that most people use all the time, or ones that are very handy to have around the house. This extension cord definitely fits the bill! This is a 16 AWG extension cord that is rated for both indoor or outdoor use. It can handle up to 15 A of power and is grounded to give you the peace of mind that you have good safe power. You can use this for a wide variety of devices from things like small appliances, power tools, lights and more. You can even use it outdoors for powering things like leaf blowers or trimmers or outdoor speakers or lights and things like that. The possibilities are endless. Just make sure you don’t exceed the 15 A of power. I found the cable to be very well made and rugged and I have no doubt that it will last me for many, many years to come! If you are in the market for a good quality extension cord, look no further. Definitely pick up one, or more, cause you always seem to never have enough!

I have a lot of outdoor and indoor (garage) equipment that requires being plugged in. Especially in the garage where I have limited power outlets, an extension cord is so necessary. And I don’t want to pick up a no-name one online. I was glad to see this BestBuy Essentials one and decided to use it. It’s a pretty thick cable so I am assured that it will handle the equipment that I want to plug into it. In my garage, there are 2 outlets on all three walls about eye level. I found this locations odd and it is hard to plug what I want because I have boxes and other supplies in the way. I really wanted to plug in a wall fan as it gets hot in there during the summer time. But the free outlet is on the other side and this cable is really long enough to reach. It is three pronged which also gives me the confidence of safety and effectiveness. The 6’ doesn’t seem too long but it is just the right length for where I want to position the wall fab. For outdoor use I can run it on the ground and not be worried about the elements damaging it. For my usages, I am glad that this has been very helpful in extending that reach.

This extension cord is straightforward and to the point. It works just as it’s supposed to, without any frills or special features. Just takes your appliance’s existing cord and extends the length by 12 feet. That’s a pretty convenient length — long enough to let me move an electric appliance around my porch or deck, but not long enough to reach all the way into or around the yard. This is a grounded extension cord, so you’ll be able to use it for two-pronged or three-pronged appliances, but can’t plug it into a two-pronged (non-grounded) outlet. The cord is rated for indoor or outdoor use, and at 16 gauge is fairly sturdy. Still, I probably wouldn’t describe it as “heavy duty” or overly weather resistant. I’m planning to use it outside for short periods of time, or if I’m going to leave it in place for a while, only under an overhang, awning, etc. where it’s mostly protected from rain. Overall, this is a simple and reliable extension cord that can be used indoors or out. If that’s what you’re looking for, this should do the trick.

The Best Buy essentials 12' Extension Power Cord16AWG/Grounded arrived and I chose to test this extension cord because of the length and knowing that I needed a new one to connect to a printer that I have. The cord is good for indoor and outdoor use. Which I also thought about too in case, I would like to use it outside with the decor that I keep up outside throughout the year. Which are different colored lights. I also have found that products manufactured by Best Buy seem to sometimes have better durability. The cord material is black and is flexible, quite sturdy and flexible. It is easy to position the cord easy in the area that I needed it in. The cord can lay flat and I am able to also wrap it if needed for flexibility. The plug is standard and has one outlet. It would be cool to have more than one outlet, however, it does get the job done for what I will be using it for. It comes with a one year warranty. I would purchase this cord again, if I needed one. Pros: Simple To Use, Flexible, Feels sturdy and flexible Cons: None at this time. Yes, I would recommend to a friend. Thank you for allowing me to test.

Best Buy essentials 12’ 16ga Indoor/Outdoor Extension Power Cord - Black, It’s 3 prong single plug extension cord it is ground with 15 A of power. it’s Perfect length for what I needed it for. I like that the plastic cord was not that stiff and straightened out easily no need to fight with it to stop curling over so your able to get use of the full 12’. I needed it for outside event and we needed an extension cord and I remembered That I had it in my car! Can also be used with household appliances. I love that it can be used outdoors and indoors so no needed to get a whole separate extension cord for both. It is simple basic extension cord but made well nice quality. I’ve also use it to do the yard used with weed wacker was easy to rinse off and wipe down after us, then moved it inside to use with a space heater to help dry my carpet after cleaning it. I’ve used it in every way possible my boyfriend laughed at me for being so happy over an extension cord, my dad always said you will always need one and he was right! Couldn’t be happier with Best Buy essentials extension cord!
