The male plug is a typical type A connector—a very good thing!—and the female port grips other USB plugs quite firmly, but not so much that swapping devices is a problem. I use my cable with my USB game pad, and directional and button presses are as responsive as when the pad is plugged directly into my computer. A no-brainer purchase if you need USB connectivity from across the room!
