This Best Buy 6 outlet surge protector with 1090 joules protection does the job perfectly well. I have it connected to a gaming laptop, a gaming screen, a laser printer, 2 USB high capacity chargers and a paper shredder. I have it fixed to the bottom of my standing desk to hide wires and the length of electric cable is perfect and more than enough for this specific use case. Previously I had a different brand surge protector that was 4 times as expensive but the cable was much shorter, I no longer have this issue. the plug in outlets on this surge protector are firm and have a snug fit which is great because in the past I have had issues where the plugs would slip out and fall when they are inserted upside down, another problem this surge protector solved for me. Buying an surge protector that has the Best Buy brand on it makes me feel confident of the quality of the product and helps me keep my investment in my electronics and appliances safe. this is a very good product that I know will last for years to come.

Overall this surge protector is what you would expect and knowing it’s a Best Buy essentials gives me a tad more belief that the surge protection will work. This surge protector has a short 2 foot cord and the typical 6 outlets tightly in a row. The plugs are top to bottom so if you are wanting to install power transformers you want to look at the alignment to see if they will work without blocking several of the plugs. The on/off switch is recessed so it wont be accidentally changed and there is a small led next to it that indicates the power is on and the surge protection is working. The overall curvature of the device makes it slightly more appealing but also makes it a little less stable due to the weight of the power cord. There are mounting holes on the back so you can mount it on the back of a desk or on a wall. The only downside to this surge protector is that the plug is not a 90 degree plug so when you plug it in the wall it does stick out due to the plug and thickness of the cable.

If you are looking for a surge protector for more sensitive high-power devices like computers, televisions, and gaming consoles, I recommend purchasing a surge protector with a higher joule rating since these types of devices are more susceptible to voltage fluctuations. I haven’t experienced any noticeable power surges since I setup the Best Buy essentials - 6-Outlet 1,080 Joules Surge Protector so I can’t specifically say how well it will hold up once one occurs, but so far I have no reason to doubt its ability to do its job by absorbing the excess energy from a power surge and then redirect that energy to the grounding wire. Since this surge protector is designed to be used with more basic household electronics, the outlets are spaced close together which is actually nice because it allows it to be more compact. The short 2-foot-long cord is also another example of how the surge protector is designed to be compact and take up less space but this may not be long enough for some people depending on where they are planning on setting it up. Overall, the Best Buy essentials - 6-Outlet 1,080 Joules Surge Protector is a great basic surge protector and as long as you are aware of its limitations and it fits your needs, I highly recommend it.

This is a good surge protector. It works as it should and I have not had a single problem with it. We have it connected to our projector outside and it works excellent. I have not had any problems with it working outside. It is bolted onto our outdoor gazebo and I love having it outside. The cord is not very long, but I feel like that is obvious if just looking at the picture. There is a switch to turn it off and on when not in use. It lights up red when it is in on mode. It has 6 different plug in areas so you can plug in 6 different plugs. I wish that they were a little more separate to make room for devices that have large plugs or large adapters, but so far no problems. It has areas on the back of the protector so you can secure it to a wall using screws. There is not much to say except it works great and I have no problems with it. Its easy to use and not difficult to get it started. I like that the color is black because sometimes aim tired of seeing the dull white one. Either way it does not really matter, its just preference.

As far as power strips go, this one is pretty basic, but it does its job. Despite the price it feels very sturdy and well constructed. It doesn't feel cheap or fragile at all. I don't know that I would use this for media electronics that benefit from signal noise blocking, but for things such as interior holiday decorations or to pull out in an emergnecy for extra outlets when you have multiple small kitchen appliances hogging outlets during holiday meal prep, this power strip is perfect. Its small size means its easy to hide behind furniture or convenienient to stash in a drawer or closet for a backup without taking up too much space. There definitley aren't any bells or whistles with this power strip. If that is what you are looking for, there are several others that would fit the bill, but if you need a simple, inexpensive power strip for flexibility or as a backup to your more expensive surge protectors, this power strip is a good choice, especially for the price and build quality.

This is a basic surge protector labled under the Best Buy brand. It can accomidate 6 plug in devices. It is black in color and the cord length is two feet. Protects devices with 1080 joules and has 3 line protection. There is an on and off switch and the switch has a an LED Indicator on it to indicate protection. This is a very basic surge protector and does not have any additional "bells or whistles" on it. In fact there are no directions on or inside the box if that makes it any more clear this is an entry level protector. Now this is not to say in any way it is not a good and reliable surge protector, it is simply basic and so far i have not had any issues with it. It is absolutely made for indoor use only and I have it set up to power some christmas lights inside my home. The product is backed by Best Buy. I am not sure what that all entails but it is referenced on the box it came in. So I will use it for the holiday season then most likely use it for some computer equipment in my home office.

This is a simple and effective surge protector that does exactly what it needs to do providing additional outlets as well as surge protection at a great price. The outlets themselves on the surge protector portion are on top of each other vs side-by-side which allows for multiple wider plugs to be used at the same time. For instance you could use most USB adaptors at the same time without any issues. The outlet orientation doesn’t necessarily allow for “brick” style plugs to be used though but you can get super short extension cords that can solve this issue for each plug. The surge protector also has mounting holes on the back so you can mount it to a wall both vertically as well as horizontally. The cord is about 26 inches long so It’s long enough that the main portion will sit flat on the ground when plugged into an outlet. Just note that the plug that goes into the wall isn't a flat mount plug. If you’re looking for an inexpensive surge protector, not sure how you could go wrong!
