I first purchased this product because my university would not allow me to screen share with my TV. I have used this thing for years and have had no issues. On top of that, when my cat was a few weeks old, she bit the crap out of this, and it still works.

A simple cable like this is a fraction of the price and is far less likely to fail than using Apple's USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter at $69 + an additional HDMI Cable. Have used this with up to a 5k displays without issue. Great bargain buy.

But the biggest plus for me and my reasoning for choosing this item was getting a simple cable for half the cost of similar cables from bigger brand names since it's Best Buy's branded product, which you can't beat.

A lot of cheaper cables will often not work at all, or lose performance, or quit intermittently. I've been using this for almost a year for my laptop to tv's to show presentations, and it connects every time, and stays connected. Like a good employee, it does its job well, inexpensively.

Samsung requires a special cord for this to happen. Lesson learned. Does work with my laptop.
