With this, it's not.

Using the Mac thunderbolt port with this mini displayport adapter was fine for a simple mirror display with no data transfer.

Too fragile but works for 1080p

The connector at the Mini DisplayPort end pulled off first time I removed from the computer. I see others mention the HDMI side as an issue as well. So, inexpensive, does the job but would not recommend if you can find an adapter that is better made.

Posted .Sorry for your bad experience. This product can support thunderbolt 2, which was a mini Display Port, and the Macbook should be before 2015.
