It is not amplified, so you need to be in an area with strong TV signals for it to perform properly. It needs to be positioned on a flat surface and pointed in the direction of the TV station that you are trying to receive.

Was an open box item, so it was a little cheaper. They opened the box in store to verify the pieces were all there. Easy to set up, works well enough, though it sometimes requires adjustments to get fully clear connection.

It does an adequate job of recieving local stations. I have some signals barely coming in, with the lowest signal level shown on my TV. But I can't say it's the fault of the antenna. I'm on the side of a hill and another building are both blocking line-of-sight in a couple of directions to some of the transmitters in my area. If I were in a taller building and if maybe my windows were facing another dircection, I might have better signal strength. Placement is everything with these things.

Had a recent internet outage and could not get any TV. I had tried indoor antennas before, both powered and not powered, and none of them had worked. I purchased this and thought it would be more of the same, but to my surprise it pulled in 32 channels of which 22 came in with excellent reception. I am keeping it as a back up in case there is another outage. I like that it works without being powered.
