I have an old dog that is very cold in Kansas City! However, I feel that it doesn’t completely heat up but in one area of the blanket.

The perfect blanket to keep warm

The overheat protection system is one of my favorite features to enable keeping warm safely. It also has an automatic switch-off feature after 2 hours so that you can fall a sleep and have it automatically shut-off with no worries. The blanket is also machine washable.

Small, not warm, 2 hour cutoff is annoying

You don't have to imagine this if you purchase this product because the heat turns off every 2 hours waking you up in the middle of the cold night. Have you ever tried to dry yourself off with a washcloth? That's kind of what using this blanket feels like as it's made for an infant. The blanket doesn't get that hot either.

And before I wrote this review I wanted to make sure this blanket kept me warm. And it did! And the settings are perfect. I used high to get it really warm then went to a lower setting as I felt warmed up. And is so lightweight. It's perfect!
