I have to admit I had my doubts..but for such a small price I decided to buy it on the off chance it works…and today I went hiking with my dog and sure enough right when we step into the woods a mosquito bites my hand..i didnt have this device on me at the time so the entire one mile hike i was constantly itching, but the minute We got to the car I took this device, double tapped the button and got six seconds of some heat on the bite…and I kid you not, almost INSTANTLY all the itching subsided and it was if nothing ever happened! I was and still am in shock, i went ahead and ordered another one for my wife as she is prone to getting stung more.

I am a mosquito magnet, and honestly I’d take a bee sting over a mosquito bite any day of the week. They itch and bother me for days. This works exactly like advertised and the sooner you do it right after a bite the better it works the best but it definitely gives relief at least to mosquito bites for me when I don’t use it immediately after. There are two settings, high and low, or child and adult. My wife is a did not like either setting so for her or my kids who don’t get bothered by mosquitos at all I’m not sure this is worth it for them and they didn’t volunteer to get stung by a bee to see if that was a different story. For me it gives a slight bit of heat and is even slightly uncomfortable on the higher setting… but that momentary uncomfortableness is an easy trade for the relief from the throbbing and itchiness of mosquito bites for me. As an added bonus it works with rechargeable AAA batteries if you have a collection of those.

I was holding off on writing this review until I had an actual bug bite to use it on, but that has yet not happened. I did use it to treat a small finger cut which I received and found that when you place a really hot item on a sensitive unhealed cut that reflexes make it difficult to sustain the required contact. I suspect it would be similar if used to treat an insect bite. However, that treatment did seem to hasten healing even though this device is not specifically recommended for use on cuts. Otherwise, the device operates as described with an on/off switch and two treatment duration settings. After having been stung by a red wasp (to which sting I am apparently allergic) a year ago while playing golf, I think I will keep this in my golf bag for use on those stings and sweat bee stings and mosquito bites as well.

I was very skeptical with this item because i didn't believe it could keep irritation down and swelling due to bug bites. I was very excited to use it for the first time on a mosquito bite. I quickly applied the device within 30 seconds of getting bit. I noticed the skin was already beginning to swell and after applying the device and on the low setting i noticed relief and the itch was gone!! The only thing i can say is be sure to get full skin contact and i know it heats up quick but endure and the payoff is amazing, no scratching due to the itch, no swelling and healing very quickly!

This convenient little device is something I never knew I needed, but can definitely no longer live without. I was very excited about this product because in the last year, I have had to go to immediate care twice for bug bites that ended up getting infected. I can't know for sure but I'm pretty sure the bug bites got infected due to scratching them. Now that I have something that can help with how itchy a bug bite is from the beginning, I'm hoping the immediate care visits are over. The concept of this device is so simple, but it works brilliantly. My dad's trick for mosquito bites for years now has been to run a metal spoon under raging hot water and then hold it in the bite for a few seconds. Of course that can only be helpful when you have a spoon and hot water nearby. But for the many other situations like camping, sports, tailgating, hiking, etc, this is an absolute life saver. I like that the heating element is on the smaller side, it helps it be more controlled. I also love that he has two different intensity/time settings for those with sensitive skin. I voluntarily sat outside till I got 2 mosquito bites, and came in and put this device to work. It worked so well, I cannot see myself not using it for every single bug bite going forward. After a few short minutes, it no longer felt like I even had mosquito bites anymore, the bump is still there but the irritation is gone. A few hours later and the bumps are gone altogether. I'm so glad this means a very small chance of itching, so a very small chance of infection. I will be carrying this with me for now on, and will definitely take it on any trips, highly recommended!!

It can be pocketed and stored for camping trips or any outdoor activities where the critters are biting. When the unfortunate happens and you're in need, operation is so simple! Flip the on switch and click the button once for sensitive skin and twice for regular skin. No joke, the first time you use it, it is a shock - the heat generates instantaneously on the tiny, ceramic hot plate, and you place the device directly on the bitten area to dissolve irritants caused by the bite. You may feel the immediate pinch of pain from the heat, but it is instantaneously followed by relief that lasts well beyond the application. The BR60 is battery-powered and is good for up to 300 applications. It's best to be used immediately after a bite, but I've found successful results for older bites too. I'm amazed at the lasting effects, and while the initial pain is a shock, it's lasting effects are way more satisfying. This device is awesome! I was really excited to see this product because from time to time, I suffer from horse fly bites that I unfortunately receive on my morning walks. It's early, I'm tired and I usually forget to apply insect repellant and the horse flies seem to know that. I was using ointments to help with the bites but was curious if there was a device that could help faster...and then I found the Beurer Insect Bite Healer. The one catch with this review is that the unit took longer than expected to arrive and by the time I got it, my latest bite had pretty much healed up. The directions mention that it's more effective the earlier you treat the bite and by this time, I doubt it would have any effect. I did apply it to the bite on the back of my neck anyway to see how it feels. It's a pretty intense little device. The application is much more powerful than I was expecting so make sure to test it out somewhere first, so there are no surprises. It's easy to use and all that is needed is to insert the AAA batteries (included), turn it on and press the button once for a short 3 second jolt ar twice for a 6 second jolt. Again, it's more intense than you would think. Once I do have a fresh bite to use it on, I imagine it will be quite effective at stemming the pain/itching. I will have to wait till then to test it again. Overall, it's small, easy to use and packs quite a punch. I'm excited to try it out again after my next run-in with a pesky horse fly.

Wow - I am amazed! I initially was a skeptic, but now a believer. I normally attract bugs that bite and have multiple scars that take a long time to heal. Normally, I just use Clobetasol (a topical steroid) as prescribed by my dermatologist to speed up the healing process, but have to live with the bites and their associated itching. I have not had it long enough to know how long a delay after the bite it is used to still be effective, but I do know that bites over 3 days old do not respond to this heating treatment. However, the ones I received and treated within a day have responded miraculously. Other posters have explained how it works and the ins and outs of the directions for use, but this review is strictly about the results. For me - a susceptible male who attracts biting insects, this thing really works. Next time I visit my dermatologist, I plan to take it with me and ask him about it. He may be able to tell me HOW it works, but this is really not important - only that it DOES WORK.

Really works! it does get a little hot to the touch when used, but that is the secret that makes it work I guess!

Works well and has lasted so far, the one issue that we have is the burn that you feel. We see the results which we are pleased however the main purpose that was purchased was for a child. They do not except the works due to the feeling of the burn.

This product was tested on myself, but mostly was used by my wife for this review. I had a bite when I received the the insect bite healer, but I had already scratched up the bite, so relied on my wife who, since getting this device, has helped get rid of around 4 bites. Here are the details: The healer only takes a few seconds to start working by heating up the area of your bite to ultimately re-direct the blood flow away from the bite and stop the itching that drives us all crazy. The first few times, almost feels like a shock with slight pain, but the itching calms down immediately. To completly work that I have seen, I applied the healer to a bite up to 3x but does help get rid faster because before, bites would takes longer to get rid of. Make sure you use it asap when noticing a bite and before scratching the skin, as that will make the healer hurt more, as I found out. Saw this just recently on sale for what? $24.99? Worth it at msrp, especially if you get bit a lot.

My daughter now calls this thing "The bug bite gun"... We received the Beurer Insect Bite Healer just days before my youngest daughter (7) had an unfortunate run-in with a wasp. She was stung in the hand, and we thought it a perfect opportunity to try out the insect bite healer. For those of you unfamiliar with "insect bite healers", its a small device that provides warm compress to the affected area, somewhat forcing any venoms from the bite, and helping sooth pain or itching resulting from the bite. The device worked really well, running on two AAA batteries, providing a warming comfort and alleviating the burn from the wasp bite. It didn't completely remove the pain, but reduced it significantly, and the bite did heal quickly. My daughter was so impressed and distracted by its use that she now asks if we have the "bug bite gun" whenever she plays outside and fears the wrath of other bees/wasps. Very cute. All in all it worked great when needed and is a great compact device that you can take anywhere to give comfort when bites happen.

Works ok if you use it soon after a bite. Prevents itching and swelling with a heating element which may be painful for some to use but only for a few seconds. Has two settings one press for 3 seconds, two for six seconds. Small and simple, it's good to have. Unfortunately I often don't notice bites until they start itching and by then it may be too late for it to be effective. But if you use it quickly it does seem to work. Good to keep in your pocket or first aid kit if you plan to spend time outdoors especially yardwork or kids playtime.

Bought one for our trip to Belize. I went outside without mosquito spray for about 5 minutes while the guy was dropping off our golf cart. When I came back in I had 17 mosquito bites on my legs. I tried this thing out and within minutes all of the itching had gone away. Shortly thereafter all of the redness was gone and the bumps had disappeared as well. The mosquitoes in Belize are not the same as anywhere else in the world. They are absolute evil demons and, if you're not tied down, they may just carry you away.

If you ever heard of the hot wet spoon on a bite to dissolve the proteins that make you itch, then this gadget is exactly that. Using batteries and a hot plate, the itch healer heats up a small plate for 3 or 6 seconds to melt away the poisons that causes the itching. After a mosquito bite, I placed the hot plate tip on the bite and pressed it on and the feeling is like a quick vaccine shot. Quick needle pain sensation but the end result is no more itching and misery. This is much more efficient then waiting for the faucet to get hot and heat up a spoon and placing it on the bite. It really should be a tool everyone has on them if you are outdoors, camping, or just dealing with mosquitos that are everywhere at the moment. Manual claims that the battery last 300 applications but after 20 mosquito bites, I'm okay with keeping a few batteries around to stop the itch.

I'm absolutely addicted to my Beurer Insect Bite Healer. I am very prone to mosquito bites and this really helps shrink them quickly. My device suddenly stopped working for no discernible reason, and though they claim to have a lifetime warranty (i've only had mine for 8 months) the company asks that i return the device AT MY COST so that they can see why it isn't working.

Stops bites from itching! Drawback it does get warm in 3-4 seconds. But it stops the itch. Which would you rather have?

It really works! I am getting more. Never heard of this thing but had to try. Every summer I get bit up. Stops the itching quick too.

Works well and helps with the itching. Only rated it a 4 because it can get hot.

Setup was a breeze. Insert the 2 included batteries and the unit is ready. Turn on unit with switch on side. Place end of unit on bite. Press button for 3 second treatment or double tap for a 6 second treatment. The treatment does feel pretty hot on your skin but is tolerable. I used on two separate bites. The first was a mosquito bite. It was really itchy. Upon using the healer, I did find relief from the itching. The second was for a bite from a horse fly. Again, the healer did take away the irritation. It worked well and I am glad I have it as I do get quite a few bites.
