Blood pressure & pulse measurements made EZEE

Outstanding blood pressure and pulse monitor. The device is extremely easy to set up via the instruction manual such that it will maintain the records of the past 100 measurements for 2 users. It is ultra portable, and comes with a case that protects the motor and blood pressure cuff. The device is also very easy to use, and even easier to maintain. It comes with 4 AA batteries, though an AC charger is an option (not needed IMHO) . The device is very lightweight, hence easily taken anywhere. Though this device is advertised as a talking monitor, and it certainly does provide an audio summary of its measurements by "clearly" announcing ( you may select a volume level or turn volume to off) the systolic, and the diastolic readings. It then announces the pulse rate and category of hypertension based on World Health Organization statistics. For example, it states “Severe hypertension” if BP is greater or equal to 180 systolic or 110 diastolic, or moderate, mild, high normal, normal, or optimal — depending on the measurement. This device will also show an irregular heartbeat with an icon and it even announces “A possible cardiac arrhythmia was found.” Another notable feature of the monitor is that it maintains a history of readings and then goes beyond the history by compiling averages that may be called up with the touch of the memory button. for example: one touch of the “M” button and an “A” appears with the average of all saved measurements for that user. A 2nd touch and AM appears with an average of most recent 7 day morning measurements. A 3rd press and PM appears w the average for the most recent 7 evening pressures. The most recent reading may always be displayed, and measurements may be deleted to clear measurements that were stored. Maintenance is minimal. I also want to mention the display. The fonts used are large and easily viewed from a distance. They are crystal clear. Accuracy? I checked pressure readings against my old reliable manual cuff with pump up, and against my pulse as measured by my smart watch multiple times. The readings were virtually identical telling me this is a high quality accurate blood pressure/pulse measurement device that is priced most competitively. I feel is an excellent value.

I received this item for free in exchange for my honest review.
I suffer from severe headaches/possible migraines, and one thing my doctor and I’ve been wondering about is whether they are blood pressure related, so I’ve been looking into purchasing a cuff to be able to check my BP when I have a bad headache.
Enter this guy. I was super excited to get an offer for it, and immediately tried it when I got it, and was immediately disappointed. I am on the smaller side of plus size (18/20), and have a muscular build, but not overly large upper arms, and the cuff included with the monitor doesn’t work for me. It starts reading it, then immediately begins to increase to over 100mmHg higher than my typical blood pressure (despite my weight and size I have surprisingly low-normal BP), hurting my arm, and then gives me an error message. I had my sister, who is a nurse, put it on me as well to make sure I am putting it on correctly, and it did the same thing. When we tried it on her arm (she’s a few sizes smaller than me) it worked ok, though did indicate she had an irregular heartbeat, which when we check with other methods she did not. Perhaps if it included two different cuffs and was a little more accurate, I could give it a better rating, but as is, I can’t, and I can’t recommend it.

Guaranteed to Raise Your Blood Pressure

Got this Beurer M50 Talking Blood Pressure Monitor to try out and see if it would be easy enough for my 78 year old sister to use since it talks to you and stores your daily test results. NO WAY!
Comes with 4 AA batteries though other reviews claim it didn't. Seems to stay on 24/7 since there is no On/Off switch, maybe so it remembers my daily results?
Instructions say it will shut off automatically after about one minute and it does dim down so only the clock and date show. Easy to program using the M and + and - buttons to set the date and time.
This device is so frustrating to use that it took me a week to get my first reading. Always got error E3 "The cuff was not attached correctly or the cuff is fastened too tightly or loosely and measurement takes longer than 25 seconds". The manual has a half inch drawing on page 9 but I couldn't determine where and how the velcro fastener is supposed to attach properly. The cuff is "Not Made with Natural Rubber Latex" but it is not fabric and velcro like the one at your doctor's office either.
At least you can wipe this one clean with a damp cloth! Diagram on the cuff didn't help either so I checked the Beurer website for instructions and the BM50 isn't found so it is either a new model or an older model. Luckily Best Buy had a video for the BM50 that I could pause and replay to position the cuff.
Once I started it made it the farthest ever before getting E3 but I just hit the Start/Stop button again and it continued on getting so tight I thought my fingers would pop.
The "Cuff Tightness" indicator was showing OK so I let it run the course by first calculating my Systolic pressure then my Diastolic pressure then the pulsing heart
gave my BPMs. Surprised that I had "optimal" results after all the hassle. Tried it again about 10 minutes later on Memory 2 and had a successful run on the second try! Still felt like it took too long and was going to make my fingers explode so will try loosening the cuff more tomorrow night when I test again.
This is such a great idea for a talking blood pressure monitor but it needs to be Senior friendly. The cuff is too clumsy and difficult to position correctly with the current design and it would just endlessly frustrate users. I can't really recommend the current design of the BM50.

Better Units Out There

Took multiple times to get an accurate reading. Also once the process starts it takes entirely too long and would tighten on my arm to the point it was actually very painful and I had to continually stop the unit. I have used many other devices and never had these kinds of issues. The display is nice and the voice feedback is also a positive but other than that, there are not a lot of positives with using this particular unit.

I like that the device is compact, quick to use, both the visual display and talking ability is very nice. The unit seems well built and the cuff is good sized. Fairly sensitive and consistent readings.

Upon opening the box the unit comes in a nice case. Setup was a breeze. Inset the 4 AA batteries which are provided. The unit has a date and clock that you can set. This was simple to do. Once you do that you make a quick connection of the cuff to the unit. It was easy to put the cuff on solo and tighten. One push of a button and the blood pressure begins to register. The voice reads you your pressure along with your pulse. It is nice because it will keep the history of two different people. It was very accurate as I was at the doctor a few days before and got near the same reading. This is a really simple to operate and nice display to show your results.

Beurer - Talking upper arm blood pressure

I had a 20 year old blood pressure cuff that is getting a bit old. I got this a few days ago and was hoping for a great update and replacement to my old one which includes voice to read the results as well as a large display for the readings. Unfortunately it is difficult to put on and measurements aren't accurate so you measure again and again to try to get accurate readings. Read the manual again just to make sure I wasn't missing anything, but when I have used the old one for over 20 years and always get accurate tests every time I use it, makes me feel sad that this really nice unit doesn't do what I need it to do.

Nice blood pressure monitoring device. Works very well as described, super simple. Has a large easy to read screen for results but also speaks your readings aloud So you can easily hear you blood pressure and pulse. Readings are consistent and accurate when compared with my other devices. Very nice and handy medical too that everyone should have at least one of.

It was difficult for me to give this even 2 stars - I was strongly considering a single star. Trying to use this is an exercise in futility and frustration. It errors out pretty much on every or every other attempt and, for several of my family members, it had to re-inflate several times during a single attempt, only to error out in the end. And, each time it re-inflates, it ups the pressure to the point that you feel very uncomfortable, almost pain. And, even on the rare occasion that it does work and gives you a reading, there is no way I would trust it.

Good Accuracy/Bad Cuff

I’m sorry to say, this one is a no-go. At first, the monitor appears well made & hi-tech. The display is large & clear, with an option to store up to 100 readings for 2 users. The “talking feature” consists of a pleasant female voice with a British accent.
I’ve used the monitor many times over several days on myself & my family members. Over half the time, the cuff malfunctions. Although the cuff initially inflates to the normal level for taking a reading, a few seconds later, the cuff suddenly pumps up even more, causing it to squeeze my arm so tightly that it’s painful & scary. My hand was practically numb by the time the cuff deflated. Although it did give a normal reading at the end of each measurement, my arm hurt for quite a while afterwards. Now, when I use it on myself or someone else, I have to stand at the ready to rip it off as soon as it starts its 2nd over-inflation process. I’ve used many automatic & manual BP monitors over the years, so I’m well-versed in the correct placement & proper fit of the cuff. Nevertheless, I tried many different tweaks in the placement of the cuff & how tightly I wrapped it prior to inflation. But there was no way to remedy the problem.
I wouldn’t feel comfortable using this device on a child, an elderly person, or a fragile person with health issues. In crosschecking the device against other blood pressure monitors, it does seem to give an accurate reading. But the verbal readout doesn’t describe your actual stats in terms of systolic & diastolic numbers. It just advises whether you’re in the “good” or “bad” range, at least according to the WHO (World Health Organization).

Love this device. Very easy to use. Simply put the cuff on, tap a button and the rest is done for you. Even comes with batteries. Keeps a log over time and tells you what it is doing. Great item! Very reasonably priced too!
