    Thermal detonator/Massage ball :)

So aside from looking like a thermal detonator from Return of the Jedi, this little massage ball is worth the reasonable price. Aside from using it to massage back or feet (as show in directions), I use it to ease aches in my hands. Nice little device.

The ball was smaller than I thought it would be. It is a little bigger than a baseball, maybe like the average size of an orange. I was surprised to find it used three AAA batteries rather than a built in rechargeable battery. For a motorized massager, I always prefer a rechargeable battery. We will see how long the batteries last and how often I will need to replace them. The ball vibrates at two speeds and it does a nice job of being effective. I placed it on the wall and used it to work on some sore spots on my back. I liked how the vibrating feature enhanced the textured ball from working the tight spot. I then placed it on the floor and used it to massage my foot. It felt great. Other than that there is not much more to this device. I do recommend it since it is very effective and does the job. I just wish it had a built in battery.

    Provides Focused Pressure/Vibration Where Needed

Overall I’m happy with the Beurer Massage Ball. What you see is what you get, the ball is about the size or a baseball and made out of firm rubber with the rows of raised nubs. The ball unscrews into twos halves to insert the 3 AAA batteries. Then there is a green power switch to turn it on/off and select the high or low vibration settings. Like many, I spend most of my day sitting at a desk. I’m in my early 60’s and when I get up, often my hips/thighs are tight. Using the ball seems to help with this. One note: while rolling it under your hips or thighs, with much of your weight on it, it will occasionally rotate to where the power switch is either against your body or the floor and will turn off. That has not happened when using it on my calves or shoulders. Maybe recessing the switch slightly would have prevented this. I’ve been using a plain foam roller tube and this Beurer vibrating ball is a nice addition my routine.

I love this product. It landed on my lap on a Monday when I was recovering from Sunday's ball game. Age and on-field hops do not gel well together and in my case the lower back is always extra sad. The first thing I did on receiving the package was follow the instruction and put the ball on my lower back and then stand against the wall. I loved it so much that I spent half-an-hour watching tv while rolling the ball on my back with the wall as support. I was sold. Done. This was great. It did not make my back pain go away fully. Nor did it make my back 10 years younger (I wish), but those 30 minutes were wonderful. If you have what I have, you would know what I am talking about. Alright, the set-up is easy. Please follow the exercise instructions. There are certain postures and positions you need to follow. Just rolling the ball up and down your body while you sit on your couch and watch TV may not help. You can use it on your chest, the shoulders, the thighs and bottoms, and the calf. Maybe, you can experiment and find other sad parts that need some love but the manual is limited to the above only. Highly recommended at this price point. Good work, Beurer. Love you guys.

"Light Use" device and handy to have around...

Beurer - Vibrating Massage Ball – Black Pretty nice when relaxing to work out those knots… OK pretty obvious this is not a “therapeutic-grade” massager or an impact device… hey it’s a little knobby baseball that vibrates, so don’t expect a Swedish Massage… LOL. With that said, this is a sweet little “knot relaxer” that is easy to use when relaxing after a hot shower or treating your feet when binge-watching once you have met your calorie burning activities for the day. The ball has “high/low” push-button settings, and you also get good wrist exercise when you twist the ball open to put in or replace the batteries. I was hoping this would be a good “chair buddy” when settling down for the evening and using the ball for sore spots or muscle knots. That seems to work sort of OK, but if you look at the recommended use methods you see that the ball works best when placing the ball in a sore spot and pushing back against a hard surface like a wall or the floor. Think of a bear scratching it’s back by rubbing up against a tree and you will get the idea. Holding the ball in my hand and pushing it up against a sore spot gives some relief, but my hand gets half the energy and my back, shoulder, leg gets the other half. Best results are using a hard surface to make the ball “push in” to get most of the energy into your muscle tissues. For soothing sore feet, rolling the ball between my feet and the floor while binge watching "Ted Lasso" gives good results. There is always something “better” that costs more, so it would be nice to have a rechargeable battery built in, but you get what you get and picking a little kit with rechargeable batteries is a workable solution for replacing the batteries. Can’t speak about the battery life yet – and that will depend on which setting is used, but I have used the ball for several hours spread out over a few days and seems to be OK so far. Maybe on a funny note, the cats seem to find this device very interesting – so I guess that is a “bonus feature” as long as you don’t let the dog get ahold of it as a chewy toy. DON’T leave this sitting around if you have a dog – that’s another story and I’m glad we saw the dog pick it up and got it back before finding out where that situation was going to go… To sum it up… a nice little device that comes in handy if you have the need – but consider this a “light use” device for “light use” needs. Definitely one of those "impulse" purchases as the price is nice and low, and with the holiday season coming up I think this would be a great "stocking stuffer" or "party present" for holiday giving. Greetings and Stay Safe from Central Georgia!

It's about what you would expect, maybe a little better. Pretty simple, has two speeds, press the power button once for low, twice for high. Uses 3 AAA batteries (included) but not rechargeable unless you have rechargeable batteries to use with it. Seems pretty sturdy so it should last awhile. I tried it on my back, hips, shoulders, and neck and it did work well for all. Has a pleasant numbing effect which relieves pain from workouts or just working around the yard. I use it on the floor which seems to give the best relief for me. You can also use it against a wall or just hold it in your hand but handheld is less effective (still works though). Small so it's easy to carry with you, about baseball size.

A small step up from a non-vibrating massage ball

I'm not really sure what I was expecting from this, but I was expecting more than what this delivers. First complaint is that it's not rechargeable. That would have probably increased the price, but I don't like having to replace dead batteries in small devices. Yes, you could probably use rechargeable AAAs rather than disposable batteries, but you've still got to open the thing up and swap out batteries rather than just plugging in a cable. Second, it's not that useful as a handheld device. It works best when you wedge it between whatever muscle you're trying to massage and a hard surface and then roll around on top of it. So, good enough for calves, but not really useful for pecs or biceps. Sort of OK to put behind your neck/shoulders when sitting in a high-backed chair, but I managed to accidentally depress the power/speed button that way. The vibrations are not really that strong, so I'm not convinced you get a lot more out of this than just a hard rubber massage ball, but maybe there's a small advantage here. The only real use-case scenarios I see for this is to take it on travel when you don't want to lug around a big percussion massage gun.
