Low noise reduction

Noise reduction is not great at all and I believe its lower than advertised, compared to my Vic Firth drummer headphones that are rated at 29db reduction, these Beyerdynamic are quit bit less in noise reduction. They are good headphone but I bought them to record drums and they let in more noise than I would like!
