Pretty fun to play with friends, though much easier to play certain mini-games in handheld mode rather than connected to the TV.

This was bought thinking ok, we may like it or it may be too boring. I really like the games, but what we all found out was that its so much more fun to play in competition mode as a family. If you play in spinning the wheel mode, you never know which game you’re getting to compete in.

Big Brain Academy is a well-designed brain-trainer game. The difficulty progresses at the player's own pace, and has settings that can make it appropriate for any age, so it is possible to have multiple players of different abilities play against each other on a level playing field. Tests and high scores allow you to track your improvement, and unlocking avatar customizations are awarded for larger achievements, and also in smaller measure just for playing or practicing. The game is always encouraging. There are 20 individual exercises, with expert versions eventually becoming playable when mastering the basic versions. They cover five cognitive specialties, with four exercises for each category. Two to four players can play locally, and online interaction is based on challenging the "ghost" records of other players in a way that makes it feel like the competition is live.

There have been a variety of helpful brain training games on Nintendo consoles over the years and Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain is up there among the best. Most brain training games focus on solo training, and while you still can still play single-player in this title, the major focus is challenging your mind against other players both offline and online. Up to four players locally can play together in a variety of minigames that'll test and challenge both your problem solving and reflexes. Even if you don't have anyone around you to play with, the game offers online multiplayer in the form of "ghost races" where the game presents you with the recorded actions of other actual players around the world and challenges you with clearing the games faster than them. This allows anyone to play with everyone regardless of whether they're currently online and provides near endless amount of content to play through spanning a large range of skill.

Fun and educational for all ages. Initially bough this game for my 4 year old nephew to help him learn different skills. Turns out everyone in the house love playing it too. Love that you can do the different practices before you take the actual test and earn metals.
