I’ve had this bike for a week now and it is a joy to ride! I have ridden 100 miles on it already and plan to do a lot more. The battery holds up nicely too! The build quality and the optional pairing of this bike with the Bird app makes the bike a no brainer. Specially, at the sale price ($1099).

We liked the a frame so much when it came in we bought a matching v frame. Assembly is easy. Use caution handling the wires when unpacking.

Excellent Bike with a couple small things to note.

Overall, the bike is near-excellent, with a couple caveats. Easily cruises at 20mph, level 1-5. Fit is comfortable, however shorter riders may not fit well. Riding style is hybrid/mostly upright with a slightly swept handlebar leaning toward cruiser-style control, but only minorly so. Sleek design, battery integrated into the frame, virtually silent operation with the belt drive. Bird app works very well to software lock/unlock the bike (complete with loud alarm when locked) and access basic features. Bike is near beautiful in person, I think it looks better than in photos... very sleek and has modern, clean lines. Tail light is always on, headlight can be turned on/off as desired. Battery range is pretty spot on... On a 9 mile ride with slightly hilly terrain and adjusting assistance back and forth between 1-5 as needed, Battery drop is typically about 18-20%. Assembly was a piece of cake, and build quality is very good. I have experience with building/working on bikes, and this went together in a snap. This is built like it's ready for the rideshare market, but beautiful to a point where you'll covet its appearance and baby it. ;) Here are my knocks which reduced the bike rating by one full star; Single gear - This is great when you are on flat and slightly inclined terrain. Once headed up a hill you'll wish you had another gear to downshift to. The single gear ratio is similar to being near the higher-mid end of a typical geared bike's range... difficult to add assistance on a steeper hill when you loose speed. Additionally, is would be nice to have one higher gear as well. Pedaling at 20 mph will get your heart rate up as your cadence is getting up there. Three gears would make this bike perfect. Handlebar - with the sleek integrated screen built into the handlebar on this bike, you are limited to ONLY the handlebar that is included with the bike. If you prefer to change it out for another style or stem with an adjustable neck, not happening. That being said, the current profile is comfortable and adaptable. Battery removal - While I typically leave the battery installed in the frame, when removing it ALWAYS hits the bottom of the top tube, marring the paint. Even if you are seriously careful, it's going to hit 90% of the time. This causes a small imperfection in what is otherwise a great paint scheme (mine is the Stealth Black version). Those are my only gripes, and the lack of additional gears is the biggest. If you are in an area that has steeper hills, you may wish to look elsewhere

    Prepare for never ending problems

This bike looks amazing online. However, it's terrible once you get it in person. I bought two of them and have different problems with both. First, on both of them getting the front tire installed was a nightmare. The disk breaks were rubbing on the pads because the pads were not aligned properly on both bikes. I had to take them to a bike shop and pay for them to align them properly. Next, On one of them the pedals were not pre greased so they made an obnoxious clicking noise every time I rode it. The seat also made an annoying creaking noise. After some grease the pedals and seat arm stopped creaking, but the crank arms are now making an obnoxious clicking noise. I still have this noise and hopefully taking it back to the bike shop again will fix this because greasing those is way more complicated. However, on the other bike the carbon drive train is making a really loud noise that the bike shop said cannot be fixed. I have contacted Bird for a replacement. Lastly, on a cosmetic note, don't expect these bikes to look good for even a little bit of time. The paint job on them is pathetic. You can lightly scrape the paint off with your nail and especially the Bird logo on the bike. Every time you remove the batteries paint comes off because the battery bumps the frame no matter how gentle you try to be. Maybe one day ill have my bikes working properly but for now all I have is a nightmare.

If you are 5'9" or under, do not but this. The rail in the middle is too high. No shocks on this bike which causes a somewhat rough ride. Good power. Fenders look cheap in person.

Disappointing. Nice bike, looks good but got it to assist with hills and with only a single speed and no option to go into low gear it cannot climb hills well it's intended purpose. Looks good but not worth the price and returned it. Despite having a warped wheel that rubbed the brakes was still charged 15% restocking fee.

Love this bike so far but it's quite pricey. Luckily, I got it on sale and had a gift card from work so this made the purchase a much better value. Putting it together was easy other than having to adjust the brakes. The bell on my bike arrived broken but I reached out to Bird and they sent me a new one, free of charge. The quality is nice and I'm hitting the ranges they estimate. Overall, I would recommend this bike if you can get it for under retail. At $2300, there are many other options that could be better for you.

I originally purchased this bike about a month ago. Put it all together, rode it, heard strange clicking noise coming from the crank. I brought it to a local bike shop and they told me to return because the problem is internal. When I went to return the bike, the bike had been taken off the website and I was offered the A-Frame. Now my A-Frame also has problems and Bird is unresponsive via phone,E-mail, and social media

Malfunctioning Battery- Read below before Purchase

After less than 20 miles of usage battery started malfunctioning. Now fully charged battery randomly turns 0% after couple of mins of usage. This is $2000 bike, so I didn’t expect this. Without properly functioning battery this Bike is useless. I reached out to support; case was created by automated system. It’s been several days and still I have not heard anything from Bird support on my case. This is frustrating. With this experience, I do not recommend this bike to anyone.

This was the worst purchase decisions that I have ever made. But, that's what happens with impulse buying. This ebike should be $300 or less. I've been locked out twice from bird team and there app (now afraid to connect to it). Which limit what I can do with the bike. You do not have full access in the display. Therefore you are forced to connect with their app.

Nicely built bike. Only complaint is the peddles. I had to change them out. I’ve been ridding it often and does well on hills and flat's for a single speed bike.

Cannot get wet, battery will die in the rain

My bike got rained on when driving to go out on vacation. Let it dry out for a day or more. Battery stopped working after 10 minutes of riding. Company won't warranty their product cause it they sold it to a third party for them to resell. Sketchy business practices. Do not waste your on this, It likely won't last longer than a year. If you already bought it, return it or make sure water never touches it. I'm going to have to take the battery apart and try to replace the cells.

    Better bikes out there, dissapointing

I wanted so badly to like this bike but I gave up. It is advertised for 50 miles but each time I went out, it was dying around 15-17 miles. I'm 185 pounds mind you. Several people warned me to get the wing freedomX instead and I should have listened. The lights on the bird are gimmicky, the pedaling with the belt drive is either too hard or too fast. it also doesn't have the built in alarm system the wing x has.

    Embarrassing specs

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

For this price point the specs are embarrassing, 500w hub motor with a 36v 12AH battery will never hit 50 miles unless you pedal the last 30. As for the range, using throttle you won't get 20 miles. Look elesewhere there are enty of enikes where you get your money's worth and arent just paying for a name. One example Ecotric bikes have much better soecs at a fraction of the cost with great support. Before buying a Bird bike do some research unless you uave money to throw away in branding.
