I bought this movie for my oldest son who is a movie fanatic! He told me the reviews on it are great! I had never heard of it before and thought it sounded a little strange. The price is really what sold me on this one. I remember looking at it one time and it was $25. The next time I saw it it was $7.

    1. Micheal Keaton should have won best actor. 2. Boyhood should have won best picture. That said, this is still an amazing film, unique and with excellent performances. Edward Norton is especially good. May not appeal to some as this film is not your standard mainstream paint-by-numbers movieplex heap. Fine cinema.

What a masterpiece of a film about a down and out screen actor trying to recapture his own sense of relevance by putting on his own Broadway play. Michael Keaton gives the performance of his career along with a star studded perfect cast that only propels this film to instant epic. The way the film seems as if shot by a long spanning single camera gives the flow of the film such excitement, it is not a wonder that it received so many nominations including best actor for Keaton.

Outstanding performances in this film. I can honestly say I have never seen anything like this film in regards to how the camera work was done. It's amazing and distracting at the same time. I hope this doesn't become a trend like the run of films that were shot using the jittery handi-cam effect a while back.

Birdman may not be for everybody. If you're not familiar with the acting world, or Theater, and it's allegorical expression of these subjects, this one may be too esoteric for you. It's satirical, dramatic, nostalgic, meta, introspective, celebratory, funny, sad, and many more things, to many different people.

One of the coolest movies you'll see this year. Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu delivers a cool and stylish peak into a lost actor's mind and his struggle to get back into acting. The director tells the story in a way you haven't seen before. The Blu Ray is well worth it. It shows off the best quality and does a perfect job at transfering the atmosphere Alejandro was going for. The Blu Ray sound will drive home the pounding soundtrack too. Cool movie. Definitely check it out.

This movie was very strange but good. The movie lets you experience the inner working of a theater play. The cast is excellent. The story is also very intriguing. However some parts of the movie are bizarre and don't make sense. However it doesn't ruin the movie with such excellent performances and dialogue.

This movie was not what I expected...and the subtitle certainly fits better than the movie title. It was good drama and very cerebral. It sorta reminded me of the movie "Death to Smoochy." The camera angles are really great though. If you like real human drama and a bit of psychosis, you'll like this film.

After I saw this movie for the first time I wasn't sure what I thought of it; I think because it was so out there. But the more I thought about it the more I thought it was a brilliant film. The story is unlike any other movie. The filming and acting was crazy because of the long continuous takes; which kind of resulted in a slow anxiety build up throughout because it didn't stop. It was the soundtrack, which is primarily jazzy drum solos, that really won me over.

Engaging reflection on the many forms of love and our instinctual pursuit of approval. After repeated viewings the structure of Birdman becomes more clear, but it's consistently pensive and funny. You might not find the answers you're looking for, but it's a persuasive spell.

This film is exceptional & original in its writing. It is filled with visually stimulating shots & fueled by emotionally-charged performances from the depths of characters that very rarely do we get a chance to see actors portray. This is a must-see film & and a guaranteed recommendation for any film buff.

Every movie I've seen so far has been worth watching. It started with "amores perros", 3 stories intertwining the same as "babel" although very different movies. This particular movie won best director, best movie plus two other awards. No winners for the actors in this play I mean movie. But were well acted nonetheless. Especially like the soundtrack with Antonio Sanchez who happens to play with Pat Metheny one of my favorite musicans. Check it out!

Not quite what I was expecting: this movie suffered from the studio not knowing how to market it... the tone of the trailers, and the tone of the movie were two entirely different things. It was a very good movie in its own right though, just don't go in expecting it to be a laugh a minute.

Simply put, Birdman is an excellent movie that any film lover should see. I bought this Blu-Ray the day it came out and it does not disappoint. The picture and sound quality are great and they serve the film well. However, more bonus features would have been nice. Nevertheless, the red Blu-Ray case and matte slip cover really make the release seem fancy. Highly reccommened for lovers of the film and for those looking for a great movie to watch!

Birdman surprised me after watching the trailers and hearing so much about it in the media. It was nothing like I expected (in a good way) and really pulls you in emotionally. Michael Keaton does an amazing job and you are never quite sure where he is heading to next with this role.

It's kind of a hard movie to enjoy, but there's so much to love about it. Michael Keaton really plays a whacko in this movie. It's very well directed and edited and the characters are crazy in all sorts of ways. Very artistic and not as funny as I expected. It has some quirky moments.

This movie is so incredibly well acted, while you're watching actors act in movie you are also watching them double their acting skills by also acting in a play. The next thing is the Cinematography, its like watching one long scene for most of the film. Then there's the music, for the most part is one guy on a drum kit, but its the way its incorporated into the movie that makes it genius. I say buy two copies and give one to a friend.

I bought this for my son and thought I wouldn't like it - but I was wrong. It was a very interesting movie. Maybe not the type I usually watch - but still very interesting. I don't want to give away the story - but it was not what I expected from the commercials I had seen.

The long takes with roving camera down endless corridors makes for a dizzying journey. Getting into the heads of obsessive creatives gives a feel for the hard work that goes into a performance and teatrical production. Well worth the many awards this film has accumumilated.

I didn't have high expectations for this movie...had only seen a trailer and didn't read any reviews. Picked it up because I had heard some good stuff about it from friends. Loved the movie. It wasn't at all what I expected. A bit quirky and odd but loved the long sweeping shots, acting was excellent and a story that keeps you interested. The interaction between Keaton and Norton was excellent!
