Customers are saying

Customers recognize the Big Green Complete All-In-One Vacuum and Deep Cleaner's excellent cleaning performance, with many praising its ability to effectively clean various surfaces. However, the significant weight of the machine is a recurring concern, making it challenging to maneuver, especially on stairs. Some users also reported issues with the suction power of the vacuum function. Overall, the cleaner's cleaning capabilities are highly valued, but its weight and suction are points of contention for some customers.

I have had several water filtration vacuums. I have all hardwood floors in my home. Overall I am happy with the Bissell. Pros: Love the longer hose. I am able to vacuum the stairs and landing without moving the vacuum canister up the steps. So many attachments and they work well. The ability to vacuum & wet clean with the same machine. The wet clean definitely makes the floors cleaner than just mopping and it seems to be faster. Great price! Cons: It is a bit heavy. The reason I only gave it 4 stars--The filter on this vacuum gets dirtier than the Monster Vacuum I had. It is about the same as the Koblenz I tried. This makes me believe it isn't filtering though the water as well as the Monster did. The rainbow I had was by far the worst in this catagory.

It cleans very well. But it is way too heavy. It has a filter at the back that is a pain to put back in.

I bought this vacuum about a month ago. Pros: - does a great job of shampooing, mopping and sweeping - rolls along fairly easily -takes up a small amount of space - isn't too loud -dries as it mops and sweeps - two separate tanks Cons: - takes 5-10 minutes to clean after each use -vacuums well, but does not fluff the carpet much.

This is my 2nd bisell green. I use it for everything (curtains, pillows, water spills, carpet, tile, etc). My last one lasted 5 years and survived 2 home remodelings. We used it for contruction cleanup (grout, cement debree, etc) and after a while it lost suction power. I would give it a 5 star if it wasn't for how loud it is and how heavy to manipulate around the house. My new one seems to have an issue with the noice filter. The vibration loosens the locking mechanism all the time; i have to glue the door to the machine so it doe'nt come keep coming loose.

Have not really used it to really give it a rate. However the little bit that I did use it; it really worked great. I got my small rugs cleaned for the most part. I have not done my carpet yet, but I hope to work on that this month.

this vacuum is awsome. it picks up everything and i don't have the affects of all of the extra dust and lint that a regular vacuum would leave behind. i tried the vacuum on my rug that has never been vacuumed and it picked up everything it made it look new again.

Reading the reviews I thought I had made a great purchase, it would do everything I needed and wanted in one machine. Vacuum and shampoo. The machine is to big, requires to much changing of parts, adding water for cleaning as well as vacuuming, then leaking. It may be a great product and perhaps I just had one that was not put together properly, but to big, and heavy to walk up and down steps, so I returned it and just brought a regular vacuum again. Back to the hands and knee scrubbing.

I was excited to buy this new model and have been very disappointed. The rotation wheel on the carpet vacuum got clogged and stopped working after the first 2 weeks. It was not effective on the carpets at all after this. It is also super heavy to be dragging up and down stairs. I wish I had returned it and gotten my money back!

    Great utilitarian value

This machine while spendy has greater utilitarian by far than not only machine less expensive than it, also machines more expensive than it! This machine dry vacuums using water as it's filter so there's no debree going back into the air when cleaning the canister, and it shampoos carpet, rugs, furniture, and washes hard floor surfaces. The downside to this machine which is the same problem you will have with everything made under the monetary system, planned obsolescence! That's why with anything electronic that's important to you, shop from a retailer like Best Buy that offers extended warranties, extended warranties are your one line of recourse against the criminal practice of planned obsolescence from all manufacturers That's why I am a firm believer in extended warranties. Having said that, what I really like about this machine is, it's a machine that enables the user to professionally clean carpeting rugs, and cloth furniture without spending the extravagant amounts money that "professional cleaners" charge, in fact this machine actually does a better cleaning job than professional cleaners do, and having to go through the hassle of renting an extractor from a hardware store for $30.00 per day, and returning it the next day. I recommend instead of standard cleaning chemicals with the machine for washing carpet, and furniture or hard floor surfaces, use a combination of baking soda, and water as your cleaning solution, or vinegar. Those are very good natural cleaners that won't have you coughing from toxic fumes, and they're very effective cleaners. Baking Soda for Furniture and Carpet, and Rugs, Vinegar for hard floor surfaces. To give you an idea of how impressive this machine is, I got a chair from Goodwill that was very dingy, and smelly which is typical of used furniture from a thrift store. When I got done cleaning that chair with this machine and the cleaning solution I recommend, that chair did then, and still does look, and smell like a brand new chair! In fact when I have company over, they often think it is a brand new chair. It's very good for cleaning bare floor surfaces as well. You will definitely want to use the microfiber cloths that come with the machine though for cleaning hardwood, or tile because the bristles on the hard floor attachment will scratch those surfaces. Hands Down, this machine is the absolute best for dry vacuuming because it uses water as it's filter so absolutely no debree is going back into the air when you clean the canister. Now one thing I don't like about the canister is, it is a lot of work to clean it when done using the machine because there's more to it than just rinsing it out, you also have to clean the filters, and the various components of the canister. However, it does an impressive job at dry vacuuming especially with the air powered floor brush attachment, it's got impressive suction. The owners manual says to use hot water when using it for shampooing or washing hard floor surfaces, however, you really don't have to because the machine has a built in heater, and the heater works very well. Normally I don't like filters, however, I give Bissell credit for the filters on this machine because they're not disposable filters as you will find on most vacuum, and air cleaning machines. The filters on this machine are washable and will last the life span of the machine as long as you wash them after each use of the machine, which is part of the hassle I mentioned earlier of cleaning the machine after use, however, it's like everything else in life, it's a trade off. This is my second one of this model since 2008. I got Best Buy's extended warranty, and had to use it this year in June, and the Geek Squad people ordered it replaced because they don't service vacuum machines, one thing good about Best Buy's warranties is if you use your extended warranty, it's fulfilled. However, they will let you buy the warranty again when you get your replacement unit. Again as I said before there is nothing on the market that does not have planned obsolescence and this machine is no exception to that rule 2 things to watch out for if you decide to get the Bissell Big Green Complete: 1. The air powered floor attachment will stop working after a few years depending on how frequently you use it. 2. Don't be surprised if you experience a problem again after some years with the spraying mechanism when shampooing or wet cleaning hard floor surfaces. This is what will happen, the spraying mechanism is supposed to spray in a jet stream pattern, if it fails as it did in my case, it will only spray in a single line which is no good, you will never be able to do an affective cleaning job that way. So those are the 2 reason why I had to use the warranty on the machine. I had them replace it with the same model, and bought the warranty over again. So those are the 2 things at least from my experience with this machine to be mindful of. Neither of those things will happen within your first couple of months using the machine at least not likely, if they do as they both did in my case it will be more than likely after a 3 years or so. Like any other vacuum machine, or anything electronic this one has it's upsides, and downsides, seamless, no. For me though the upsides outweigh the downsides significantly. Some of you might find the monetary price of the machine spendy $300.00+, however, I would highly recommend this machine over a number of machines that are more expensive than it is at prices of upwards of $3,000.00 that are only good for dry vacuuming there fore don't have anywhere near the utilitarian value of this machine.

    Avoid this

I purchased this when I moved into a new home. The home had carpet in two bedrooms and hardwood throughout the rest of the 1600 sq ft house. What sparked my interest in this product is the ability to allegedly vacuum carpet and hard floor, as well as shampoo carpet and hard floor. I used this twice before returning it. The first time I used it I noticed an insane amount of air pumping out of the machine. The amount of air made me think there was no way this machine could adequately be sucking anything up into the machine and actually cleaning anything. I was correct. After cleaning I was not satisfied with how my floors and carpet turned out. So I ended up cleaning my entire house by hand. My father also confirmed that there was a lot of air pumping out of the machine so I know it wasn't just me. I tried this machine one more time for good measure. I continuously vacuumed over the same piece of hair (my hair) that this machine just did not pick up. If it couldn't pick up a piece of hair, how can it deep clean or pick up anything else? After this incident I chose to return. In addition to the lack of performance, I was also disappointed with the instructions. There are a million and one accessories that come with this thing, which is greatly. But the instructions are not quite clear. I consider myself somewhat smart. I am a lawyer and have an MBA. However, it took me almost an hour to figure out how to put things together. And even then, I still wasn't 100% comfortable assuming I put it together correctly. Also, it is HEAVY. And I never felt comfortable with whether I cleaned it properly. The instructions really needed to be in color and a lot more clear. So why 2 stars? Because once I was done attempting to clean with this, the water had a lot of debris in it which suggests that it cleaned something. However, it just didn't look like it when I looked at my floors.

This machine does all it says. My floors were cleaner than ever. I had an old oil stain in my carpet and I thought I would have to replace it. I tried the carpet cleaner and it came out. WOW! My only issue is that the base unit is heavy and the cord is a little ackward. But with use I think you can get used to it. I gave away my old vac and am using this one for everything.

I do not hate Bissell. They made many good products. Unfortunately, the Big Green Complete falls way short of their reputation. The wand being made of plastic, one cannot put any pressure on any of the attachments. If you have children, as I do, you know to get that deep clean, you need vacuum and the ability to scrub. Without having pressure, you cannot suck up the dirt and water from the carpeting. The hose connection keeps coming undone just by usage. Lastly, I love all the attachments, but exactly where am I suppose to store them? If you use the wet vac side, then you have to remove the carrier for the attachments. If you remove the attachment side, then where am I suppose to the vacuum accessories? If it were made more of alumimun than plastic, this would be a great purchase! We are sending ours back today (Oct 16, 2009), please do not purchase this item. I would hope that Bissell would stay true to their reputation and create the vacuum or wet vac that they have been so well known for.

I spent 30 mins trying to vacuum 1/2 my staircase last night and ended up using my old vacuum cleaner to finish. The suction on the air vacuum feature is very weak. I bought it because I have cermic, hardwood and carpet in my house and wanted a floor cleaner for all these surfaces. My 11 year old vacuum cleaner works better than the vacuum feature on this bissell deep cleaner. I think I'm going to take it back, I paid too much for it not to work.

Had a Dyson that finally died. Thought I'd try the Bissell as I have several cats and need a powerful machine to suck up the hair. Was very disappointed. The suction was so poor I was picking up the fur by hand and putting it by the nozzle. The cleanup was disgusting. This was partially my fault as I thought it used bags. My mistake. Instead of bags it uses water in a container. For me the Green Machine was a great idea but NOT for my needs. This puppy goes back tomorrow and I will purchase a regular old-fashioned canister vac.
