I was definitely disappointed with this carpet cleaner. I looked up the reviews on Google for the top best carpet cleaners and this one was one. So whe. You use it first it doesn't pick up the solution. The carpet stays wet. Then the dirt,hair, lent pieces end up on the carpet.

Our carpet is blasted. This has brought some areas back to life. Some areas are just hopeless. We have an Oreck machine but it is just worthless. The gunk this gets out of the carpet is revolting. I'm just wondering when it will stop extracting the muck and the carpet will be completely clean again. May never happen, may just be how things are with carpet that was let get this bad. The machine is very large and heavy. Don't expect to be able to haul this thing up stairs easily. It arrived in a large box fully assembled. Once removed from the box, extend the handle to the upright position, remove the dirty water tank, remove the clean water tank, fill the clean water tank with hot water and solution if you desire (works amazingly with or without solution), put the tanks back on and get to work (vacuum first though). The dirt, grime, hair this thing pulled out of our carpet was disgusting. The water was black with grime, like gravel in the bottom of the tank. Once the carpet was dry in a few hours, vacuumed again to get the crud that collected from under the machine and the loosened dirt. It takes a lot of work, but the results are worth it. Great thing is you can go rent one from Pet Smart to try it out yourself. With the amount of work it takes to use the machine, rental was not the best option for me so I just decided to buy it. Have no regrets in the least.

I bought it for my mom to use in her apartment and she raves about it. She has had it for a few years and she says it is still going strong. Easy for her to use. Not very heavy. She has two small dogs and does the trick for odors and stains.

We had great service at Best Buy and were very happy with our price purchase. Today our big green Bissell cleaning machine arrived and the box was partially opened and the cleaning supplies were missing. How or who do I contact to get my cleaning supplies that go with my Bissell cleaner. This is an expensive purchase and I would like to get my samples to try on the machine.

It cleans great but every time I use something happens to it. Had to change water indicator. Then I was cleaning office moter started smell then it quit it will not turn on now

I have gone through several carpet cleaners over the past few years. I have three dogs and one of them has been having health issues. I've tried several carpet cleaning machines in the $200-250 range and they all seem work fine for about a year or so. Some work better than others but they all seem to be acceptable. After a year or so, they lose suction. I do clean my carpets weekly. I was initially hesitant to buy the Big Green Machine because of the size. It just seemed to be so much bigger than the less expensive models, but it really isn't. The storage footprint is slightly larger but not as much as I initially thought. The top folds down so it only takes up a storage space of approximately 2 feet by one foot on the floor and about two feet in height. The cleaning ability is phenomenal. I should have bought one of these years ago as it would have saved money on buying several less expensive machines that do not last. This thing has suction! When you pull the suction trigger, you can feel it giving resistance to being pulled. It's not enough resistance to make it difficult to use, but enough to let you know it's sucking the water up from the carpet. This leaves my carpets dryer than any other machine I've used. The carpets are not dry afterwards, but they aren't soaking wet and they do dry pretty quickly. The pros: Big clean and dirty water tanks. Good suction It seems to be well built and I'm not worried about it breaking in a year. The cons: It's a little bigger than a less expensive machine, but this isn't even a big issue.

Best carpet cleaner I’ve ever owned! This machine exceeds expectations, tackling dirt and stains I thought were impossible to remove. I’m incredibly satisfied with this purchase. I bought it in 2020, and it’s still going strong with no issues. Highly recommend!

It should be stupid to have to say this, but when you take the thing out of the box, OPEN THE DIRTY WATER CONTAINER (it's in two parts) AND TAKE OUT THE CARDBOARD AND SAMPLE CLEANING PRODUCTS. Not that "I" didn't do that of course, and clean a quarter of the house before I discovered it when I emptied the tank. Nope not me. 6 years and 4 dogs later, we do something besides vacuum the carpet. We are clean people. We thought so until we used the machine on freshly vacuumed, throughly vacuumed I might say, carpet. The BBGM (Bissell Big Green Machine) brought up WADS of of dog hair (not mine, I don't have any). The dirty water container also had wads of hair (as well as product samples and card board) and the nastiest water you ever saw. Unless something evil happens I am sticking with my 5 star rate. Anything goes wrong, or I change my opinion, I will attempt to update this review or pen a new one.

I rented one of these machines to clean the rugs in my house. I loved this machine so much that I ended up cleaning my furniture and all the rooms in my house. It deep cleaned better than any cleaner I have ever used and the pet smell was completely removed. This machine was also very easy to use. I love this machine.

I have had several different carpet cleaners/ extractors over the years- various Bissell models, and 2 Hovers. The others were cheaper, and lighter, but none of them cleaned as well or left the carpets as dry. Not-even-close. Here is how I have learned to use this machine to get great results. Vacuum first really well. Move your vacuum slowly and overlap the strokes. Then, vacuum again perpendicular to the first set of passes. I pre-spray the carpet with a properly diluted mix of solution and water suing a small garden type sprayer or a spray bottle Don't over-saturate the carpet, but you may need a bit more on stains or high traffic areas. I have a soft broom/brush (meant for washing cars) on a long handle that I use to agitate the solution in to the fibers a bit. Let this sit while you go get the Bissell big green ready. I used only warm/hot tap water in the Bissell Big Green. I don't rush things and I do a forward pass and a backward pass with the trigger depressed, and then forward and back with no spray at all. This process leaves clean carpets, they dry quickly and zero residue so the carpet stays cleaner longer. If you have clumps of hair or debris when you use the Bissell big green, either your vacuum is inadequate or you didn't vacuum thoroughly enough. This used to happen to me and then I bought a vacuum that is excellent at deep cleaning carpets.

Very happy with this purchase. Cleans carpets well and doesn't leave them soaking wet.

I purchased this machine 9/26/18 and used it next day. This machine performed better than expected. It didnt get the complete edges along the wall but the attachments work and good for upholstery. I like the 2 separate containers for dirty and clean water wich makes it easy compared to others machines. Also register your product on bissell website wich was easy for thier warranty.

I would rent a Rug Doctor occasionally but decided it would be easier to have a heavy duty cleaner kept at home. I've used the Big Green Machine 3 times in the past few months and it is simply amazing. It's a must have if you own dogs or have a busy household. My carpets look new and smell fresh!

Fantastic carpet cleaner. We have a puppy and we figured this was cheaper than renting one every other week. We've used the other ones and owned every type and this one has worked the best. Super easy to clean and very simple to use
