I purchased this when it was on sale and got a heck of a deal on this vacuum. I have 2 shaggy style rugs in our home along with regular carpet and it has not failed us yet and immediately showed what we were missing with our last vac. I did read the prior reviews and it is mentioned to get the extended warranty which I pushed the 5 year.
