Customers are delighted by the CrossWave All-in-One Multi-Surface Cleaner's excellent cleaning performance and ease of use, finding it lightweight and effective on various floor types. However, some customers expressed concerns about the cord length and price point, while others suggested improvements to the water tank design. Had it for a few months now and it works just great I bought replacement parts just to have in case but aslong as you keep it maintained you’ll will not have any issues.

Works great on my vinyl plank flooring, works just as well on my hardwood floors too if you use roller designed for those. Don't expect deep cleaning, it's not a scrubber. It's an electric mop that vacuums. Used in that context it works great!

Cleans floors well without streaking and very little effort. The procedure for cleaning after each use is an ordeal. I used the cleaning fluid enclosed quickly, but finding more in a store is difficult.

The TL;DR (or short) version:
I think the Bissell CrossWave is the ultimate hard surface cleaning machine. While it's marketing material claims it will clean any flooring surface, I felt it excelled with hardwood, tile, linoleum, and even bare cement, but came up short with carpet. It's easy to set up and easy to clean after use - no tools required in either case. It has a lot of nice touches that make it a good all-around cleaning machine. There are a couple of weak spots that come from what I feel is a design flaw, but otherwise it's a solid way to cut down on the amount of time one spends on floor care.
The long version:
The Bissell CrossWave is the floor care machine I've been waiting for for years. It's a great way to vacuum and "power mop" your floors at the same time, and - in my case, at least - extract an unexpected amount of filth from your floors.
In terms of unboxing and initial setup, it couldn't have been easier. The CrossWave comes mostly assembled - just insert the handle, assemble the storage tray, mix up a container of solution, and plug it in. You're ready to go at that point. Other things that come in the box are cleaning solutions for hardwood floors and general purpose usage, a second hard surface/carpet combination brush (one comes preinstalled in the unit), and a wood floor brush. Disassembly of the CrossWave for cleaning the unit is just as simple as the initial assembly is - the dirty water and debris collection bin pops out once you hit a button and the clear roller brush cover and the roller brush pop out the front of the unit with ease. Did I mention you don't need tools to assemble this machine?
Using it is also simple. The handle has three controls on it - a trigger to dispense cleaning solution, and mode buttons for carpet and hard surface that double as the machine's power buttons. Press them to power the unit up or switch modes; a bright white LED in each button indicates which mode is active. Press the active mode button again to power it off. The only difference between the two modes, btw - carpet mode dispenses cleaning solution twice as fast as hard surface mode does. To activate the roller brush, tilt the unit back; tilt it forward to turn the roller brush off.
When it comes to cleaning performance, its hard surface cleaning amazed me. It's performance on carpet was adequate, but not enough to wow me.
I started on ceramic tile using the combo brush and general purpose cleaner. Not only did it get dirt off my kitchen floor that I didn't know was there, but now I know where all my scratched and cracked tiles are. I also used it to clean the area where my stove sits, and it got things off the floor that I'd normally need some sort of scraper to get.
I then moved to hardwood, using the same brush and cleaner since this was about getting the floors cleaned. Even with the standard cleaner, I noticed my flooring didn't look as dull. It also managed to get drywall dust off the floor that didn't come up during either regular moping or while using a disposable wet pad mop.
I then tried carpet, again with the same cleaner and brush combination. I was disappointed that it didn't do much for an old stain that normally sits under a chair, but I did find that fresh spills come right out with ease.
Finally, I took it to my basement to clean some old, abused linoleum. While it didn't make it look brand new, a few passes with the cleaner did bring back some of the original shine this tile had.
The one thing all the hard surfaces had in common was the amount of filth I got off of them. The wastewater was definitely filthy, as evidenced by the fact that it was grey and you couldn't see through it. From both the tile and hardwood floors, there was also sediment that collected in the bottom of the wastewater container. The water from the carpet was also a little grey, but not nearly as filthy as the water from the hard surfaces.
The CrossWave does have a lot of positives going for it. The aforementioned tool-less assembly and disassembly makes cleanup easy. Roller brushes are dead simple to swap. The cleaning solution container has markings on it to make mixing solution painless. The unit also has an LED headlight on it that activates while you're dispensing solution. The biggest positive, however, is the hard surface cleaning performance. You even don't need to vacuum while you use it to clean floors.
There are a few negatives though. Personally, I think the power cord is a little short; my living room is 16x20, my kitchen is 12x5x25, and I had to move where it was plugged in in both rooms in order to completely clean them both completely. The carpet cleaning performance is okay with fresh spots but it lacks the ummph to clean older spots. Also, the way the filter assembly is designed, some dry debris does get caught in the pre-filter; however, the pre-filter is at least designed to be cleaned every time. Also, on the roller brushes, I do understand the pull tab side will never be flush with the edge, but that doesn't mean the unit can't be redesigned where the drive side of the roller brush can approach the edge of the brush roll housing. While it does get close to edges, there's still a small gap between the wall and where it cleans.
All in all, I thought the CrossWave was a very solid idea and an even more solid execution. Being able to vacuum and "power mop" at the same time cut my kitchen floor cleaning time down by at least 33%, if not more. The job it did on my hardwood was great, and the amount of filth it got off my floor makes me wonder how I ever thought the floors were clean before using this machine. At it's recommended price point, I can happily recommend the CrossWave to anyone who has a lot of hard surface flooring, hates traditional mopping as much as I do, and finds that wet pad mops don't work as well as advertised.

Purchased for wife because we have a toddler and than a baby getting ready to crawl everywhere. This is much simpler than lugging out a vacuum and then mopping/swiffering. She imhas been using everyday for about a month. No complaints so far.

It took me the second time to fall in love with it. That's because I figured out how to work it. It picks up dirt and mops in one step. This works really well. I love it and would buy it again. Actually I'm buying one for my mom for Mothers Day.

This product did not work on my Saltillo floors with grout. Uneven service. Left the dirty water in the grout. I have two friends that love and recommended this product to me. Bottom line, just be sure to use on even surfaces.
I used machine once and housekeeper used once. Both of us of same opinion. Best Buy has 15 day return Policy, so keep this in mind when shopping there. Costly mistake for me.

This surface cleaner works great for hardwood and tile floors. There are issues with some area rugs though. We have two and it worked alright on one and terrible on the other.

Purchased the CrossWave after seeing ads on TV. Found it to be a great floor cleaner. Had a steam cleaner but always had to sweep the floor first. Like how the CrossWave sweeps and "washes" the floor, all at the same time.

Did a nice job on my tiles, hardwood and rug. It picked up a good amount of dirt even though I vacuum regularly. It’s a little bit on the heavy side but a nice vacuum.

The Bissell Cross Wave was a snap to assemble, as only one part (the handle) had to be clicked into place. That's it, no further assembly was required. The Cross Wave has a real solid feel to it, as compared to other floor cleaner/carpet cleaners that I have used in the past. The instructions were decent and left no unanswered questions. I have 1700 square feet of tile throughout the house that the unit was used on. The Cross Wave handled the job with no problem. Noteworthy was the fact that the unit had no problems with the vacuuming of small bird seeds and debris. Other cleaners that I have used in the past only propelled the debris to another part of the floor. That was not the case for this unit. Debris was easily sucked and swept into the cleaner. The filling of the water and floor cleaner solutions could not have been easier. The bottle has two fill levels. One level is for small areas, and the other is marked for larger areas. The bottle is also marked for how much of the cleaner solution you need. All the guesswork has been taken out of the equation. This is a very nice touch. The unit also has a dirty water chamber that is a snap to release and empty. The Bissell Cross Wave is far quieter than other models that I have used in the past. The Cross Wave left my tile floors really clean and shiny. No need to spot clean any of my floors before you using this unit. The unit worked quite well on some area rugs and had no problem taking on the job.The Bissell Cross Wave is a great cleaner and is backed by a 2 year guarantee. Two years is a great amount of time to stand behind a unit. The Cross Wave is a winner in my opinion.
