Pros

Cons

  • It did a nice job on the tile/wood floors, but on dirty carpets it was just ok; I didnt think it would great the deep ground in dirt out, but it did vacuum up the loose dirt nicely, and all in all, its a nice machine, as long as you dont expect it to get up "hard core" ground in dirt!wase4711

I wanted to like this cleaner, really I did. We moved into a 800 sq foot apt and it's all laminate floors. We have a baby who is soon to start crawling and destroying everything, so I was on the hunt for something to clean the floors. I went to bb and was kinda surprised at how expensive these things were. If you wanted a legit one, it would be at least 150 bucks (a swiffer with wet pads is like 10 bucks?) This one was a model of the best they had priced in the mid 200's (there's a pet version that's closer to 300). I impulsively pulled the trigger. First off, it does not mop or vacuum particularly well. The mop was my 95% priority as we already have a dyson and it's awesome... If there are spots or stains on the floor, you gotta pass over them >6 times to even put a dent into cleaning it up. The mopping action simply isn't strong; it's like a brush that just hovers/skims over the floor. It's not a brush that really creates any friction or any force to actually clean the floor. For a mop thats >200 bucks I would expect some muscle behind the clean. There isn't. Also, you gotta go super slow when you're using it, making a job way longer than one would expect. If you put it on rug mode, it blasts through the liquid. I tried rug mode over the floor to see if that had more power and it didn't; just more liquid. I had to refill the thing all the time and used a bunch of solution. The only reason it got 2 stars was cause the residual water was pretty dirty, so it cleaned up some stuff I guess. At 75 bucks or lower, maybe it would be worth another shot. However, at well over 200, it didn't even get close to my expectations. You're wayyy better off with the 10$ swiffer to do the same thing. I returned it and will not be getting another one. If you want something to just wet dust and surface vac the floors, maybe you'll like it. If you're expecting something to actually clean and are willing to pay for it, this is a total gimmick and will disappoint you.

Unclear instructions and poor mopping power

This combo unit allows you to sweep (ie, vacuum) and mop simultaneously. You can use it on hard surfaces (tile, stone, wood) and area rugs, though it's unclear how thick your rugs can be. It comes with a cleaning fluid for hard surfaces, a cleaning fluid for area rugs and three rollers (two for hard surfaces and one for area rugs I believe). You fill up a tank on the back of the vacuum/mop with water and cleaning fluid (to preset levels depending on the area of surface to clean). You then prime the pump for 10 seconds and go. What I noticed is that although the vacuum suction is adequate, the scrubbing power of the rollers (which are supposed to take the place of mopping) is not so good. Thus, it's difficult to really get your floors cleaned to the same extent as you can when you sweep and mop. Additionally, I couldn't find anything in the instructions about how often you have to pump fluid from the back reservoir down into the rollers and onto the floor while cleaning. This also makes it difficult to know how much to use and if you're using too little or too much (ie, wasting some cleaning fluid). Cleanup involves taking the dirty water tank off and apart, pulling the roller out and pulling the reservoir out. You then wash everything and let everything dry for 24 hours. In summary, this does only an adequate job. And, to me, the cons outweigh the pros.

It does have good suction but it has a funky/burn smell to it after 2 uses. It sometimes suds in the corners when "mopping" with it. Very annoying when cleaning it out due to the tall round plastic in the middle of container.

This cleaner would take out minimum dirt. It would freshen the carpet. It is not a very strong cleaner. I used two different types of cleaners and still could not get my carpet as clean as with a hand scrubbing.

Does what it says it will do but feels cheap. Should be priced at around a $100 or less not $250.
