Horrible Mop did nothing to dirt spots

I have three kids. One of them is a year old, so of I'm mopping the floor everyday. This mop did nothing to the dried splatters, nothing... I'm so disappointed. I thought for sure this would help me save time when I need to mop after my kids but no. it vacuums great, but for getting the dried on dirt spots off its horrible. Hefty price tag for a mini vacuum because the mopping part is a failure.

Worked very good the first time around but during the second use it started to leak all the cleaning solution and each pass was very splotchy. Only parts of the brush were getting solution and I ended up having to make several passes to get the same area. Also the canister that holds the dirty water does not lock so if picked up incorrectly it will spill, which did happen to me, (but that was obviously my fault) so just a heads up.

Vacuum and Mop With One Machine

All the components of this machine came well-packed in one box that has hand holds on either side of the box; that is important to me just to get it in the house. It literally took minutes to set up this Pet Crosswave, with a quick start guide and full owner manual included. I already have a Bissell Pet Vacuum cleaner and I do love the Tangle-free brush roll. On other machines I usually have to get out a scissor and cut the hair off the roller. So, the dog hair gets sucked up from the Tangle-free brush roll and it is not the nicest thing to have the pet hair with the dirty water in the canister. There are 2 small containers of floor cleaner included that have a flower fragrance. I was told by Bissell that this machine is not meant to clean carpet, but rather area rugs because it is not a deep cleaner. I did use this on several area rugs, though, and found that it did a good job cleaning and deodorizing. However, when you are done and it is time to clean up the dirty water bottle be prepared to see all sorts of hair and other yucky solids that the machine picked up. I used toilet paper to retrieve and clean out those solids before dumping the dirty water in the toilet. Clearly, I only want to put water into my sewer system without bulk solids so it is important to clean out canister as best as possible. Then you need to either dry these pieces or let them air dry. Pros-does a good job, easy to use, set up for a while with cleaning fluid and other components. Cons-no accessories for upholstery, etc. and ultimate clean up of dirty water bottle.

We had to buy another Bissell since the one we had, daughter broke it. This one does the same job on our laminate floor. Cleans up after two dogs (hair and dirt). I used our Best Buy card to save on 6 months no interest!

Loved the vacuum when I first purchased it. Used it almost 2-3 times a week. Only problem is the vacuum line gets clogged and has to be cleaned every time or the dirt dries and collects and adventually clogged the line. Overall good vacuum!!

The good: Out of the box, this took little time to set up and get going. The brush picks up dog hair (and my hair) just fine and the vacuum does well with the loose dust and dirt. The scent of the cleaning solution is lightly floral, and not overpowering (keep in mind that I am not scent sensitive). I really like the convenience of moving from hard surface floors to area rugs. The not so good: The cleaner was not very effective on very dirty floors. The areas around where our garbage pail sits, our stove, and the floor under where our meals are prepped have all suffered from cleaning neglect. I expected to have to work at it even with the new Bissell, but the Bissell was pretty much a waste of time. This device might be the perfect thing for weekly (or daily) cleanliness maintenance, but expect that you will need a relatively clean floor to start out with. I would recommend this to friends who already have a regular cleaning routine. I would not recommend this to friends who clean only when it becomes obvious that they need to.

Crazy - they get vacuumed all the time, but this is a whole different level of clean. We have a cat and a dog and I just used this to clean a 10x10 area rug and it picked up so much dirt and cat hair I was frankly shocked. Just seeing the dirty water container from the one rug makes me want to clean all our rugs now. Super easy to use with well thought out buttons, it's lightweight, but packs a ton of suction. I also really like the cleaning tray that you put it in after you are done - just add a little water and turn it back on and it automatically cleans the brush head (think paint roller).

Amazing product. Works perfectly! It amazes me to see the stuff it picks up and how dirty your floors really are that you do not notice! Love that it mops and vacuums at the same time so convenient!!!! I recommend this to everyone I talk to! Photo is of the first use after a rainy week and a dog.

Do not spend the money or waste your time on this. I have two German shepherds and four boys so my hardwood floors are no stranger to hair and dirt. This vacuum does not suck up the hair or clean the floors. I wish I didn't waste my money, I was hoping to cut down in the products that I needed to use to clean. NOPE my Kirby and floor steamer still get used. Now I just have an overpriced vacuum hanging out in the closet.

As title says, this does great job on floors. Leaves them nearly dry and amazing what the water looks like when done! Had no idea my floors were so dirty. Lousy even on area rugs - just doesn't have enough power and spray. Recommend highly for hard floors. Cheaper and more efficient machines fur rugs.

I received this to review. I have 2 dogs and 2 cats. Cleaning up with 4 animals that shed and go in and out of the house tracking in dirt is no easy task. This mutlisurface cleaner was easy to setup and use. Maybe 10 mins of setup. Most of my home is laminate so this seemed like a good product for my house just from reading what its use is for. I thankfully was correct. I had mopped and swept the floor before I used this cleaner as I wasn't sure how good it would work. It found dirt and hair that apparently the broom and mop left behind. Now I will probably still sweep first as 4 animals shed an awful lot. Once you finish using it cleanup is incredibly easy. They designed this with little thought on our part to clean the floors and the cleaner itself. I definitely recommend cleaning it every time. I'm glad I came across this machine it has made my house so much cleaner.its worth the money in my opinion. I'm including a picture of the dirt and hair I thought I had already cleaned before I used it.

We have 2 dogs that love to run around and get as dirty as they can. It's a constant struggle keep the wood floors clean, especially with all the rainy weather we've had this year. We bought the Bissell CrossWave several months ago, and it has made our lives much easier. Instead of pulling out the mop bucket or the expensive Swiffer (those pads are NOT cheap), we grab our CrossWave, clean the floors in about 2-3 minutes max, and are back to business as normal. We have only use the area rug cleaning twice so far. It's NOT like a steam cleaner quality clean, but it is perfectly fine for cleaning something like a newly created muddy paw print from one of our rugs. The price is a bit steep, but if you look at the long-term price when comparing this to having to pay $10 per box of Swiffer pads (1 box per week * 52 weeks = $520), this really is not that bad of a deal at all.

At certain times of the year my backyard gets muddy and with two dogs going in and out of the house throughout the day my wood floors get very dirty. Using the Bona floor cleaner just spreads the dirt around and doesn't really get the floors clean. This machine actually gets the dirt off the floor. If they are really dirty then it takes a couple of times to get the floors back to their clean state. Using a mop and water uses too much water (very bad for wood floors) and steamers are out of the question unless you want to ruin your floors so I instead use the CrossWave Pet. It strikes a great balance between Bona type floor cleaners and Mops. The trick is to go slow if the floors are very dirty else I just run it quick like a vacuum for touch ups. Pretty easy maintenance ans easy to use. I highly recommend it.

I've got several different Bissell vacuums that I really like, and so far, this one is no exception. We have a lot of indoor cats, but also live out in the country with horses so we're always tracking dirt into our utility room and kitchen area. We frequently vacuum these areas, but just don't take the time to mop very often. I think this vacuum will solve that problem. Here are some things I like about this vacuum: - It was a little quieter than I expected after reading some other reviews - I found the power cord to be plenty long to use conveniently - There's a handy clip on the handle to help keep the power cord up out of the way while using it - The handle was comfortable and I liked having the on/off switches right there on the handle - The wheels rolled quietly over my tile floor; some other vacuums have harder plastic wheels that make a clattering sound that annoys me - I found it to be maneuverable and could easily get under the cabinet toe kick space - It came with a spare roller and also cleaning solution - It was easy to clean all the parts after using it - The storage tray that the whole vacuum sits in works well to contain any moisture while it's air drying; it also worked well for flushing/rinsing the vacuum after use, per the instructions There really wasn't anything that caught my attention as something I didn't like about this vacuum. After using it, I'd say the floor was about as clean as if I'd gone over the whole thing using a cloth or paper towels. It probably doesn't loosen stuck on dirt as well as using a scrub brush, but for the normal dirt/mud we track in I think it'll work great. It'll be a great way to quickly (and more frequently) give a thorough cleaning of our tiled areas. Another great Bissell product!

One-Pass Cleaning for Floors and Rugs!

We have tile and hardwood flooring throughout the house, with throw rugs scattered here and there. And we have two dogs who, in addition to blanketing the house in fur, insist on bringing the yard back inside with them. Cleaning used to mean vacuuming the whole house to get up the fur and loose dirt, then mopping or steam cleaning the floors and spot cleaning the rugs. For us, all that changed with the Crosswave Pet Pro! One pass cleaning! It really is a vacuum and a scrubber in one. We just go over the floor like we're vacuuming. The cleaning solution is dispensed by holding the trigger while you vacuum, and it's sucked back into a separate dirty water container. And it's dirty! We were amazed at how much gunk it got off the tile floors. We also tried it on the rugs; as a dry vacuum it worked well, but it really shined as a rug shampoo, using the wet clean option. Setup was a breeze. It literally took us longer to get it out of the box than it did to get it clicked together to use. The instructions are clear and concise. The minuses are pretty minor. - It's a touch slower than just vacuuming because it doesn't have the storage capacity our vacuum has; you have to empty it more, and of course, refill the cleaner every couple of rooms. We'll probably continue to use a vacuum for the light traffic areas and use the Bissell for the heavier traffic areas. - The cleaning procedure (recommended after each use) is a little involved. We found it easier to just pull out the tanks and roller and rinse them out in the sink. If you have a critter around the house, the Bissell Crosswave Pet Pro really is a must buy. Not only is it an effective cleaner, it's a real time saver. We were very happily surprised at how well it worked.

The Bissell Crosswave is perfect for those who don't like to mop (me). I love that the Crosswave vacuums and mops at the same time, doing two jobs at once. Also, it cleans the floor and sucks up the dirty water instead of moving it around like a mop. I have only used it on tile so far but they are noticeably cleaner after use. It doesn't do a deep cleaning but it is as good as a mop and perfect for maintaining your floors. Beyond tile, it works with hard wood floors, laminate, and even area rugs! Clean up is a little involved; you run the Crosswave on its storage tray with water for a few seconds to clean the roller and intake, then you remove the waste tank, remove hair strainer, empty waste tank, rinse everything off and let air dry. Despite the steps involved, it is fairly easy and doesn't take more then 5 minutes. I wish the waste tank was slightly larger, but I imagine that would of added unwanted bulk to the lightweight design. I am really pleased with the Crosswave and recommend it to those not just with pets but anyone who is looking for a better way to clean their floors!

This multi-surface does a decent job cleaning floors and rugs - no complaint about its core functionality. But there are a few shortcomings that keep me from rating it higher. First, because it collects dirty water, it requires cleaning after every use, no matter whether it's a small or large job. This point probably applies to all appliances in this category, not just this one. And since most jobs are small, it's more work to clean the vacuum than it's to clean a small spill. If you're planning to use this as part of a regular routine or for large clean ups, then it makes sense to consider. Second, there is no edge cleaning. Deep corners, base boards, and other edges will have to be attacked with other tools. It has no attachments, even for dry vacuuming. Third, the trigger for releasing solution is badly placed. When pushing the vacuum around, it's easy for your fingers to slip to the trigger, releasing fluid when you don't mean to. Lastly, for lack of a better description, the overall feel of the appliance is clunky. The misplaced trigger above is one example. Another is it's easy to spill cleaning fluid when trying to pour it into the clean water tank because of the spout design. And once you fill the clean water tank, it's easy to cap it in a way that looks closed, but isn't. The result is water quickly leaks through the bottom and onto your floor. And finally, when emptying the dirty water tank, the strainer isn't snapped to the tank so if you forget it's there, it will fall out when you turn over the tank to pour out the water. Now imagine your kids or pets cause a mess and you're in a hurry to clean it up. When you're in a rush, you're less likely to pay attention to details like capping the tank properly, keeping hands away from the trigger, etc. You can argue this is all user error, but I think its overall design isn't good for when you're in a hurry. Certainly you'll remember all these details after a few uses, but its first time use could have been thought through better. As a result, I can only recommend this if you're planning to use this methodically.

This is a well-designed floor cleaner that deserves 4.5 stars. Overall design is well thought out and quite functional. Worked great for all types of pet messes and dirt. This does a good job at cleaning and Bissell did a good job designing the CrossWave. One of the best parts is how easy it's to clean after each use. All the important parts are easy to remove, drain, and clean. The pet hair "strainer" is a nice feature that separates hair from the dirty water, but it can be tough to clean at times with longer pet hair. Glad they included the multi-surface cleaner, which I'll probably buy again but I'll be testing with vinegar at some point. It's important to remember this is not a vacuum nor was it intended to be sold as one. It will work on any surface but this is not going to be your regular-use vacuum, unless you have all hard floors then you can (probably) try to use this as your main vacuum. Pros: Easy setup Pet hair strainer Pet friendly Decent Maneuverability Easy empty dirty water tank Separate clean water tank 2 brush rolls Buttons built in to handle Super long cord Easy cleaning Include surface cleaner Cleans well without having to go over many times Pet owners and homes with young children will definitely benefit from this model. The CrossWave in general is pretty well made and seems to be durable. I am very happy with how well the CrossWaves cleans up messes. I generally don't have to go over an area twice as long as I don't move too fast. Hair, pawprints, dirty, sand, all get scooped up and cleaned. It does take a few tank fills to clean one floor of a medium sized homes when doing a deeper cleaning. It's also important to note that your floor will be damp for a little while. The roller is pretty easy to clean and doesn't get tangled up with hair. Most importantly, it's great for any mess. Bathrooms, kitchens, etc will all benefit from this cleaner regardless of pet ownership. Maneuverability was pretty good but not great, I think there is some improvement to be made here, but this should be good enough for most people. The CrossWave is super easy to clean, which was a big plus for me. This vacuum utilizes the popular one touch removal and emptying of the tank, which is a good size and easy to operate. Integrating the surface buttons into the handle is another nice touch in the design so you don't have to bend over or stop what you're doing. They also include 2 rollers which keep this cleaner always ready to go. The rinse tray keeps everything nice and organized. The extra long power cord is very convenient. LED light is helpful but could have been positioned much better. Cons: Multi-surface households will require a good vacuum. Overall, there are not many cons to this vacuum and I think most buyers will be very pleased. I think it's priced a little too high for to lack good vacuum-only functionality. However, this is a bit of a niche product that does exactly what it was made to do. I would recommend this cleaner.
